Note: I know that an evaluation does not fully see my ability as a teacher but it still hurt knowing that my principal had seen me as "low performance". 😞I know I'm a good teacher, I just hated seeing those low scores. It's similar to when students try their hardest but still receives a failing grade.

The right admin makes a huge difference! I liked my previous admin, but I LOVE my current admin. So glad you have the supportive admin you need at your new school!!

I’ve had that experience where my previous school was gaslighting me and blaming everything on me. Now I’m in a school that is wonderful and great where they appreciate my work and experience.

I have been watching you for some time now don't let the first evaluation get you down. You are a good teacher the other school just was not willing to provide the support and room that you needed to flourish. An this evaluation showed you that. Am glad that you are now in the right environment that sees your worth and values you. I look forward to more videos keep smiling and continue to shine best of luck. Love from Jamaica 🇯🇲

I have a feeling that your evaluator wanted a favorite in your position so she thought it was the best way to get you out. We had a principal like that in our system and she is no longer in our system.

there are some people who will never be happy with what you do. There are some people in power positions that will use it to be hateful.

It sounds like your admin was not IT at your old school and was just not supporting you as a teacher because my school uses TESS observation system and our principal outright told us that only a handful of teachers are going to have 4+ score and to not take the scores to heart, because we are amazing teachers... it is just how aggressive the TESS are. And even then, my principal gave me all 2's as a first year teacher but reassured me not to take it to heart because most teachers get 2's. I love that you are so much happier back at your old school!!! ❤❤❤ being at a supportive school makes all the difference.

So glad you had this new evaluation to restore your confidence!
I was confused by your current classroom wish list. Did your old school not allow you to take home the things that were yours? or are you still working on your list trying to figure out what you had and what you still need? The list looks like you had to leave everything behind. Hoping for a little clarification without taking too much of your time. Thanks.

Oops. That was my mistake. I had put on the "keep purchased items on my list" because I wanted to see what brand of scissors I had gotten and forgot to put it back to a regular wishlist. I fixed it 😄

I received a negative evaluation during the 1993-1994 school year, and it affected me. I applied to 12 different schools in my district but I had no success, so I decided to be a substitute teacher for an entire year. This gave me the chance to see other sites and how they are run, and what types of principals were there. I did secure a position for the 1995-1996 school year, and I am still there today because I had a supportive principal who never forgot what it was like to be a teacher. When it comes to adding fractions with common denominators, start with something silly such as 1 cow +2 cows=3 cows, 2 bears +4 bears= 6 bears, et cetera. This will help your students remember to add only those fractions with like denominators and that the denominators do not change. You don't want kids to think that 1 fourth +1 fourth equals 2 eighths. A picture model will also help to strengthen this concept. Thank you for your video presentation. Take care.

I have most of your wish list items on the way to you tomorrow, Friday 1/26. Hope this helps you get set up for your new grade.

Don’t take it as an offense but that principal just wants you out of her school. Pack your stuff and don’t ever go back. I honestly think you should look for another job outside of teaching. This bad observation will stay with you for the rest of your life.

I do agree with you that the bad observation will stay with me but I love teaching. I wanna stay in the progression until my tenth year and then I will perhaps move on from teaching. I'm only in year 4 so I still have much to learn.
