    Kuzma's Defensive Impact - three words I never thought I'd see together. Love the energy he brings, he's the key for us locking down Kawhi.

    I dont know whats gotten into Kuz but he's been in the hyperbolic time chamber working on his defense for sure. I feel like hes grown 4 years as a player in this bubble in how hes been able to improve on defense. I love it. I hope we keep him for a loooong time.

    This is beautiful man... there's so much more to this game than meets the eye. Basketball is the greatest sport in the world, only if there was a way to make the officiating better it would be perfect. Frank Voguel and the coaching staff deserve so much credit for the defensive mentality of this team. Of course AD, too.

  • @supersaiyanty9542
    @supersaiyanty9542 Před 3 lety +1

    Kuz has grown pretty significantly in this area. Idk why more people don’t recognize this growth in him. I get it his offensive numbers have decreased but he’s literally become a better defender, better passer, taken better shots, less offensive fouls than last season. The guy has improved and even though he had a down offensive production year, saying he hasn’t improved/got worse is sign that you’re just a casual NBA viewer and don’t notice the nuances of the game. Losing some weight has really helped Kuz become more agile and use his speed and size to alter shots to the point that they aren’t dropping. Kuz doesn’t get a lot of blocks but uses his size to disrupt shooters.

  • @richardprado5914
    @richardprado5914 Před 4 lety

    Kuz has pretty much potencial in offense, but this video show us that he's going to become a tremendous defender, Go Lakers !!!! Just keep improving our young players.

  • @hphuongsgn

    Kuz notably made a lot of improvement in his defensive game comparing to his earlier years.

  • @edwardkim8972
    @edwardkim8972 Před 4 lety +1

    Looking at the NBA Draft Combine numbers, Kuz has below average verticals, but he had guard-like lateral quickness. I don't know if Kuz had good instruction on footwork, but it seems like he's got good natural footwork ability. Plus, he's got guard-like lateral quickness. So, he's always had the ability to keep in front of guards and small forwards. It seems after his third year it's finally coming together for him on that front.

    • @edwinfcapidos
      @edwinfcapidos Před 4 lety

      He should improve his handles this off season. That's like Ben Simmons that can shoot 3s.

    • @edwardkim8972
      @edwardkim8972 Před 4 lety

      @@edwinfcapidos I think he can improve his handle, but not to Simmon's level. That's elite level. I'd be happy with Paul George level ball handling at some point in the future.

    Kuzma just needed to feel “needed” by his teammates. All the trade rumors got to his head & you can’t blame him. Plus, all his buddies were traded to New Orleans & he misses the comradery. Kuz will be very valuable for the squad now that he’s found his stride. 💜💛🏆 If Danny Green can start contributing, the Lakers will be unstoppable

  • @TheDarkphx
    @TheDarkphx Před 4 lety

    I was never expecting Kuz to be a premiere defender, but I never doubted his tenacity on both sides of the floor. He just need the exposure and get a taste of what it takes to win in the post season. Kuz and Caruso both have stepped up on defense so far!

    @tjuannepitchford2668 Před 4 lety

    Nice. I noticed and others noticed it that breakdown was 😎. You can tell he’s worked hard on his entire game, once the game slows down a lit’ bit more, his tunnel vision (sometimes when looking to score) will decrease and he’ll be able to see the court better. 👍🏾👍🏾 for him

    During the summertime Kyle Kuzma was predicted to be the 3rd GO-TO-GUY for offensive production. 😞😞😞
    He failed at that role, so a new narrative has been invented for the defensive side of the ball, that's cool.
    The need for a 3rd GO-TO-GUY for offensive production doesn't go away just because it isn't Kyle Kuzma = shooting 30% for 3-pointers after 5 NBA Playoff games against the Portland Trailblazers.
    Good news for other Laker offensive-minded candidates that want that designation = 3rd GO-TO-GUY for offensive production.
    KCP is shooting 48% for 3-pointers if you delete Game, and 40% for 3-pointers counting Game 1.
