    Thank you so much for this review! I've ordered the 4leg desk without grommet holes a couple of weeks ago, it's backordered until October. I was planning on getting an Ergotron monitor arm. It didn't occur to me that there would be no room to place the clamp for the arm b/c of the rails underneath.
    Thank you so much! I considered switching my desk order to the 2 leg version, but I'd rather have the stability.
    I think I'll stick to a regular monitor stand instead of the arm. It's a compromise for sure but I'm not keen on the grommet holes, and my desk is in front of a window, so wall-mounted monitor arms wouldn't work for my setup either. Thank you again for the thorough review, it saved me ordering and returning the monitor arm!

  • @preterrandom
    @preterrandom Před 3 lety

    Very helpful, THANK YOU! I was also leaning toward a 2-leg desk until I saw a mention of a 4-leg version.
    One question: From your footage of the monitor arm clamp from under the desk, it appears that there is not enough room to put the clamp on the back edge because of the rail -- is that correct? I'm considering 2 monitor arms... or I could just stay with one monitor on a stand -- haven't decided yet.

    • @Outlaw_SEO
      @Outlaw_SEO  Před 3 lety +1

      You are correct. The grommet holes are positioned between the rails. The remaining lip, outside the rail, is too shallow for any mount on its own.
      Check out my other video on the Zilker laptop arm mount. You could get something similar to those for a dual monitor setup.

    • @preterrandom
      @preterrandom Před 3 lety

      @@Outlaw_SEO Thanks for the reply! I did watch your video on the Zilker, that was also helpful. I was leaning toward the Range arms because of the greater capacity. If I decide to use a monitor arm, I may use the bolt-through option. But drilling a hole is a big commitment!
      While the 4-leg model has obvious stability and capacity advantages, it seems to create issues for a lot of the accessories -- not just the monitor arms but also the tracks for keyboard and underneath CPU mount. To design is to compromise, I suppose...

    This is such a good review!! I might go with the 4 leg desk now instead of the 2 leg one. One thing I had a question about is at 3:43 you mention the hammock. On the Uplift website, it says it’s not compatible with the 4 legged desk. Is this one from a different company or did they just change this feature? Thanks!
    Edit: Would you think a monitor arm would fit with the frame? Like would the back metal bit get in the way of a clamp for the arm? Thanks!

    • @Outlaw_SEO
      @Outlaw_SEO  Před 2 lety

      I don’t think they make them for the 4 leg desk.

There are no reviews where they film themselves applying force using different angles on the desk. I want to see what would hapen when you rest your head on your arm with your elbow on the desk. • @Outlaw_SEO
      @Outlaw_SEO  Před 3 lety

      Make sure that the weight rating of the arm corresponds to the weight and the dimensions of your monitor. My monitor on Vivo arm is 34” wide. Even though, my engineer friends tell me, that these arms are built with higher tolerances than advertised, I would suggest sticking to the manufacturer’s suggestions.
      As far as putting the desk together by yourself, I would recommend assistance when you have to flip it right side up. Depending on the size, it can be pretty heavy.
      If you MUST put the desk together by yourself - then make sure to lift with your legs.

    Oh wow, it certainly looks like there isn't enough room on the backside of that desk to attach monitor arms. You would be forced to use the grommet holes. That's odd, because one of the options for this desk is a triple monitor arm from Uplift that attaches that way. You would have to attach it directly to the desk. That complicates things.
