SUPER video! Of the two plugs, is there one you need to disconnect first or isn't there a safest sequence? I have already removed the black pole from the battery. And second question; how long can the car stay without battery before the alarm kicks in? (I heard that the alarm has it's own battery and my car will stay without battery for approx. 4 days).

Hey man, So if you have the Stock H steering wheel and if i were to change to the sport ones, i will have to get the airbag change as well correct as the H steering wheel airbag is not the same as the sport steering wheel .
are the cables the same for the sport version?

Hey please get back to me if you can. Is the steering wheel splined? I just got mine back from the allignment shop and it's ever so slightly off centre. I have the allignment papers and everything checks out. I just want to reposition the wheel so it's centre.

Did you ever put the M3 Steering wheel on? When I tried, I kept getting an airbag fault code. Did you have problems with that too? The shop told me it was because my E46 is a pre facelift and the steering wheel is from a facelift. I would love to hear what you have to say.

Yes, anything electronic.... Or if your using welding machine.

I am facing a problem, all the installation is done but cruise control light won’t appear. E46 320d 01/2000...i guess i have dme ms42 model...i’ve read somewhere else that CC won’t work on models prior to 09/2000...what do you think? I pinned it to 27 also....need help :(

5 years later yes it will work you just have to make sure the connection between the bolt and the steering are the same size
My E46 has this same old steering wheel, I want to change it to a Sport Steering Wheel but I am not sure if the airbag can be reused and put on the Sport Steering Wheel. Does someone know if I can keep the same airbag or get a different one?
Its different, its smaller and round, u can google it. Also most of them arent functional since there was massive recall for all bmw airbags.

Airbag is different from standard to sport wheels. Controls use the same connector.
So I will need to find sports style airbag? Or one that comes with the airbag?

You just have to take off the steering wheel, and then the stalk, which is held in with 4 torx bolts. Then you will have access to the ring.

check your fuses first and then check wiring for any breaks or shorts.
My e53 had this steering wheel removed it and put a sport steering wheel much better looking

+Dodge Hemi (Challenger 392) It is recommended to disconnect atleast the negative terminal but usually you should be fine as long as you don't have the key in the ignition.
if i remove neg then it won't be grounded, i think you mean take off positive from battery in trunk ShopLifeTV

i have to order $20 airbag harness, the one in the old square bag was stuck on too tight. No bag ESL yet, i will do full swap when the new harness arrives, at least both style bags are NOT TAKATA DEATH IED traps
