    Henry Cooper was a credit to boxing, his country, & himself, when they made him they threw the mold away, an absolute gentleman.

    Cooper was a true gentleman. Both Ali and cooper were larger than life giants. Although we all know about the greatness of Ali, Cooper was very very down to earth. Both sadly missed.

      He cut easy but it didn’t hamper is career.
      He was a top domestic level fighter. Far short of world class. He didn’t have the best of chins. He was sparked out by both Johansson and Patterson. I think it was only the Ali fights he got stopped by cuts

    So much has changed since Henry’s glory days, sadly not for the better. We won’t see his like ever again nor Ali’s either. Henry was a tough guy in the ring but a total gentleman out of it, loved his wife and raised his kids well, the epitome of a proper man.

    Henry Cooper and his awesome left hook- a boxing LEGEND. The only man to put Ali down when he was his peak of fitness. Henry was cheated out of the victory by Dundee and the 'damaged' glove. An absolute gentleman-much loved and sadly missed!

      @@kevinmunday5782 Dundee confirmed this I think. The smelling salts that were used were illegal. Ali should have been DQ'd quite frankly, and had he gone down 20 seconds earlier, he would have been knocked out. Sure, Ali was the better fighter, but this was a miraculous and sketchy escape for him. It was Henry's night.

      Ali was blind in 1 round in the Liston fight and won. Never count him out(No Pon Intended) He seemed to find a way of winning.

    Pity that people have all but forgotten about Joe Bugner, the other Brit who fought Ali twice. Like Cooper he lost twice, but went the distance in each. He also had a win over Cooper for the British title.

      Henry's brother george(jim) was a pro boxer aswell, but suffered badly from cuts. Them high cheekbones were a curse, there was another brother (bern) who was older than the twins.

    If only sportsman today had that type of attitude to family and the sport they chosen
    Earning 10/20 times more than mr Cooper did
    They seem to squander and cheat in relationships and sport

      Bugner is hated for defeating Cooper, instead of passing the torch the British fans vilified him so it's unsurprising they never give him his flowers. Both are legends though.

    One of the greats in my book. I couldn't help wondering after watching this I noticed he golfed left handed. So like a lot of artists musicians etc most likely ambidextrous with a slight favour on left. Yet in the ring he looks like he fights with a conventional stance; orthodox. Perhaps this accounted for his very strong left , which took down the great Ali.

    Henry Cooper was cheated twice, First by Angelo Dundee cutting Clay's glove delay, and secondly by Harry Gibbs
