- The Out of Goshen family teams up to make a kids picnic table using only 2x4’s, screws, and paint - all for under $30!
Here are the simple instructions we used to make the table:
Table Top
Cut 4 2x4’s exactly in half
Then take two of the board and cut 45 degree angles out of both ends
Bench Tops
Cut two 2x4’s exactly in half
Then cut 33 degree angles out of both ends of all the bench boards
Table Top Brace
Cut two 2x4’s, 21” in length
Then cut 45 degree angles out of both ends
Bench Braces
Cut two 2x4’s, 44” in length
Then cut 45 degree angles out of both ends
Legs
Cut four 2x4’s, 25” in length
Then cut 22.5 degree angles out of both ends so the two ends are parallel with one another
Construction:
Lay down the Table Top Braces with the angles pointing toward the ground
Arrange all the Table Top boards on top, line them up so the Table Top Braces are 7” from the end, and screw them together.
Flip over the table and attach the legs in all four corners
The end that connects to the table should be places on the second inside board on the table top, located on the inside of the Table Top Braces. Screw them together.
Center the Bench Braces on the legs, measuring 9” from the bottom of the feet. Place them on the outside of the Table Legs so they run parallel with the Table Tops Braces. Screw them together.
Flip over the table and place the Bench Tops on top of the Bench Braces. Align the Bench Tops so they are centered and pushed toward the outermost ends of the Bench Braces. Screw them together.

Love your "how to" videos. You are a natural teacher. All the best Eric and family🌞
Thank you for the awesome tutorial!! Going to be making for our little ones birthday!
Eric this was a perfect project....the little ones are going to enjoy this so much all summer. Bring in during the winter for a fun play table during snow time. Now, can you increase the size and make one for all the adults to match.? Thanks for sharing the build. Maybe Sam could cut the wood, assemble the screws, provide the directions for assembly and sell the kit.
This would be a nice project for him and someone without a saw would have a cute table they could assemble for their kids. Just a thought. Have a Blessed day. BTW Ashley, that was a perfect color choice for the kids table.
What a great little table. The kids all look like they are enjoying it. Good job everyone!
That’s a good looking picnic table! Great job, Eric and Sam! 👍 I really love that blue paint color! So pretty!
Great video. Great bench. So glad to see videos from you guys. Happy spring to the whole family.
I LOVE that kid's picnic table! SO adorable!! Great choice to use whole 2 X 4's instead of cutting and wasting them. LOVE that color and it's the perfect size for the kids. How fun! When I had a small deck made, I had them use WHOLE 2 X 4's as well. Just couldn't understand cutting them since we paid for whole boards anyway? Good choice to use the nice, flat trailer to work on! Have a beautiful day. Love you all!!
Here we are three years after you made this and people are still learning great job. The only thing I would have done differently is sanded and painted first. Make it so much easier
Struggling on What type and What size of screws to use
This was a great build, we are definitely going to have to make one for the kiddos. I’ve always loved picnic tables. Appreciate you showing us this simple
build. Blessings friends
Great job! I'm glad you extended the table, because, why not? Great job on the instructions - kept it simple but ample. And thanks for the notes in your comment section!
Amazing the kids are going to make hours and hours of memories at that table. Thx for sharing.
Beautiful job, everyone. That table is beautiful! The kids look great in it. You are a good teacher, Eric. Shabbat Shalom

Cute! Almost makes me wish (more) for kids/grandkids/great grandkids...
I love it! What a cool table. Those kids will get so much use out of it! Thanks for sharing.
Great job family really like this table .My husband is going to make one for grandkids.💛
I love this, now to adjust this for an adult size table.... 💗
Its darn stinking cute. Awesome job. Love these videos. Like the 45 degree angles.
Wow! You did a great job on that! I think your changes really improves it, too. Your little ones are going to love it.
Great job!! I like how you narrated yeh video so I could follow along with it.
This was a great video. Thanks to him for posting it and the person on Pinterest for initially putting it on!
I made one and will make 2 more.
I did only a couple things different and that was I did not cut the end boards for table top & bench ends before I built table instead I just cut them with my hand circular saw and only enough to take the points off but that is a choice of mine.
Also kids wanted an umbrella so I used-a hole saw and cut it in middle for the pole.
Great sturdy table!
Price was more seeing lumber has almost doubled in price lately but compared to the unassembled table I purchased from Amazon it was still half in cost and easier to assemble . Plus the one from Amazon was very fragile built !
You're a clever bunch, love it!
Love it and it’s kid approved!👍🏼😊
What a pretty table. Great job! 😎
Oh wow! Super nice table! I wanna make one
Awesome table for some awesome kiddos and made by some awesome parents and big brother! It’s probably a lot sturdier than anything you could’ve bought already made.
That turned out fantastic and looks beautiful. I'm sure your children will get a lot of use out of it.
Love it.
I love the color :)
Cool video. Thank you. I used scraps from a table that a tree fell on. Took a whole lot longer, but I needed some practice to hone in my wood working skills. Lol.
Chicken coop blue. Awesome! Well done!
Great project...
Sweet! Matches the chicken coop! Little ones will love it and get good use!
Sits wonderful when Eric has a good Hoopee Whoopee !!!
Nice job 😊
wow good job
That is so cute Eric.
Cute!
Also with price of lumber being costly it was more like $60.00 but still better than any other preassembled table bought in Amazon or Wayfair !
Hope that you all are safe & not too affected by the floods.
Wow, brand new subscriber here. And to think I really thought I'd subscriber to every woodworking channel on CZcams and THEN I find yours. lol. Anyway, great build.
❤️ LOVE ❤️
I love the kids table. Would you have instructions for an adult table.
great job and cheap too that could be a side job cuz if you buy them from big box store your looking 100 bucks or more hugsssss from Canada
how cute
Good video. Can you tell me what color of paint you used. Thanks
It's so cute, now all you need is an umbrella!!
You are amazing. Just built the same for my girls. Thanks for the video
How many screws do I need and what kind?
I am looking to do a project like this with my kids allowing them to use simple hand tools like a miter saw/box and hand drill. Would you recommend any changes to the plan to accomplish this? My goal is for them to learn some basic woodworking skills while building something they can use daily.
This should be a good project for them.
Your Amazon wish list links don't load
How long were your 2x4?
I believe I used 96" 2x4's, however 84" 2x4's would work just fine to make a slightly shorter table.
@@GoshenPrepping thank you!
