My son started losing hair in his early 20s. By his late 20s he had a grandpa head (a ring of hair from ear to ear) with nothing to comb over in the middle even if he'd wanted to. Around 30, when he'd been married a few years, he went into his bathroom and shaved it all off. He's been that way ever since. He's now 54 and handsome as ever.
Hair on men is overrated. I met my husband in high school - he began losing his hair in his early 20's and he went to great lengths to try to change that. I feel bad it bothered him so much because it never bothered me. Bald men are gorgeous too. Oddly, our son still has a full head of hair at nearly 30.

It's so annoying and tired of listening to the people around you that says having hair transplant is a form of 'vanity'.. No, I don't think so. . The difference between Vanity and of Correction are way too much,whereas the vanity was only to enhance or add what you don't have before in your self while the Correction is simply just 'taking back in' what you've lost already like for instance a hair -of which is the symbol of Manhood's crown of confidence and dignity..
A lot of coping. Bald/balding men simply are not as desirable generally speaking. Any man with even a moderate degree of hair loss notices the difference in female attention, as I can attest to. It sucks, and there currently isn't any excellent treatment option available except for transplants. But let's not pretend that it doesn't make a big difference. Men need to be heard out on this, instead of dismissed, whichever option you go with
Shaving almost always looks better than trying to hold on to your hair, if it's at that point where you can't cover it up.
I think doctor Gary is very cute and he looks so natural without hair. He is so cool. And it's very psychologically comfortable and non-toxic the way he talks about this sensitive thing
My father started losing his hair young and just embraced it and has a clean head and I almost ALWAYS think men look better 100% bald than with a thinning head of hair. I hope more can embrace that!

Gary, you are indeed right, we tend to judge ourselves more thinking about how people would perceive us..there is nothing shameful in staying bald!
Dr. Gary you seem so realistic and caring. I wish more doctors were thorough and well spoken like you. I went 10 years without getting a diagnosis for basic small fiber neuropathy. In that time I learned that the medical profession is full of untrained, uneducated people. Maybe people that forgot their education? Not sure. I live in america, supposedly one of the greatest countries in the world. The medical system failed me and my quality of life is worse now because a bunch of the "best" neurologists in new york, philly and new jersey could not do a basic skin biopsy. A physical therapist diagnosed me and sent me to her neurologist. It's a sad state when physical therapists are better than neurologists at their job.
So anyways, this is all to say that I appreciate doctors that care. Doctors that can speak clearly and concisely. Doctors that don't gaslight you. Doctors who are sensitive to people's mental struggles (like those patients who are very emotional about going bald) and I can tell you are one of those men.
Dr. Linkov is the best. He's really sincere and gives great advice

I love this channel, Doctor Gary always explains everything in detail so great.
A good hair transplant will definitely last a lifetime. You might not keep 100% of what was transplanted but 80% for sure if you take care of it, and are regimented with the finasteride and minoxidil treatments. Also: never do it on the cheap, and don’t do mega sessions. Better to do 3 smaller sessions over a five year period than one big one where the blood flow isn’t adequate to keep all the grafts growing.
Do you have a good idea on the monetary value of what you described?
Idk about that, I been on propecia for about 18 months before my hair transplant and 6 years after my transplant and with taking propecia as well I lose about 50% about 25% in the front and 25% in the crown. It's not a permanent solution.
OR You could just accept that your bald? I really think its sad men have embraced being woman in the worst way.
@@guesswhat-chickenbutt a procedure involving 2500 grafts can cost up to 10k, but it highly depends on the surgeon. I'd rather pay 10k and have it done by someone professional than pay 6k and being 'just another client' while everything is performed by assistants

Think it's important for anyone to be able to feel it's okay to say no to cosmetic medication or even pricier cosmetic surgery. Those with means, sure they can and should consider it if it means so much to look just so; but no one should ever be thought of lesser for not being bothered to cough up over being bald. Im envious of bald men since my transplant didn't take and whole back of my head is a mess of circle scars. Have had to wear a wig for 30 years. Dont mess with what God gives you. If I had just accepted baldness I would have been a much happier man today.

Got kudos from my dermatologist for asking about help with my hairline soon after I noticed it starting to recede rather than waiting until I lost enough to be unhappy with it. Hoping to keep most of what I've got because I probably wouldn't spend the cash on a transplant.

Shaving very short or completely is ALWAYS better than trying to hide it. You need to rock it because trying to hide going bald oozes of insecurity. Listen guys, a toooon of men go bald, there's literally nothing to be ashamed of, though 99% of us would like to have the option to have hair. You can try to "fix" things, but until you actually succeed in it, don't hide it.
Do whatever is comfortable.
Wether it be a rug, a hat, surgery, whatever.
If someone see you as insecure or whatever, that's their problem.

I shave my balding head once a week and think nothing of it, though I would probably shave even if I wasnt balding, or have long jesus hair..

@@JBoo My left eyelid has been giving me issues the past couple of years but definitely more so this year with it twitching or then like the muscles feel like they give out and my eyelid droops for a few seconds. I’m definitely going to Google about the gland being the cause of that.
I was told that would help my upper eye puffiness.

He actually looks pretty good with short hair, even after the messed up transplant. I always wondered actually if an extremely low density transplant over a large area could work, if you just keep the hair really short? Like for guys who are Norwood 5 or more
I think it really does make you look not fully bald. Might work for people who dont want the round headed balded look. Your hair will still look thin asf but the shape will look different enough.

@@neemayaz1113 I've seen older guys who have just a little really thin hair, and it actually looks alright as long as it's cut extremely short. It keeps them from getting the horseshoe shape that fully bald buys have
Very interesting video. Love how this doc explains things. I was on Finpecia for a few months. It helped with thr hairloss, however i developed quite abit of brain fog. On the recommendation of my GP i went off it. Now im only on a BioTin supplement. Its also helped slow down the hairloss.
Id like to find out from this doc if he would advise giving Finpecia another go? Or should i rather just go on something like Minoxidil? And is Minoxidil effective enough on its own?

I do not have hair loss or thinning (yet) but have began chemo despite right now only a b-cell killer, but shortly will began Lemtrada and/or an HSCT stem cell transplant afterwards. Your videos are really helpful and I don't feel lost even though I am early in my journey as I know my hair won't last forever. Ask or check halftime metabolism of the new chemo drug - if it's relatively short, a cooling cap (some hospitals have them already , you can make or borrow your own also) might be of use. They reduce the blood flow to hair follicles and therefore reduce their exposure to said chemotherapeutic. Short time moderate cold exposure itself does not damage the follicles itself and might actually be beneficial. I had to wear extensions for years and years after, since that technology wasn't as accessible then,even though it's fairly basic science. The average half-life of ofatumumab (pharmacokinetics) at a steady state is approximately 16 days. However, the biological effect of ofatumumab (pharmacodynamics) is much longer. Following drug discontinuation, more than 50% of patients recovered their B-cells between 24 and 36 weeks.
@@gamergirlmars Ofatumumab fortunately doesn't cause hair loss as its monoclonal antibody type drug - the fact that it's targetted means it doesn't affect healthy cells as severely as other antineoplastic agents do - some target brosdly fast dividing cells and these are the agents that cause hair loss and skin problems as both cell types are targetted along with cancerous cells. As long as You maintain good nutrition throughout - I hope Your doctor will provide good anti-nausea meds - Your hair will stay as healthy as it was before:)) Good luck, I wish You swift and smooth recovery ❤️
@@margodphd Ofatumumab kills 98% of all b-cells every month, good or bad. It is a very potent chemo agent, and it can cause hair loss or thinning as a repercussions. Some people lose hair, others don't, it's just no way to know how one will react.
I remember watching the original video and as soon as he said “it started thinning”, I asked myself was he even doing anything to keep up with it?
Why would it started thinning if the frontal part was all transplanted hairs? I thought the transplanted hair are genetically predisposed not to lose no matter what.
@@rksleungI think it is because of the reason he only transplanted in the front. Rest of the hair at the top is still going to thin out
@@rksleung that's kinda what i dont get either. i thought the follicles from the donor area are genetically not dht sensitive but what dr. linkov called it was a "dht sensitive area" which means the top of the head is dht sensitive regardless of what type of hair is there i guess?
@@neemayaz1113 I have a theory actually. I read it from somewhere. It's due to Skull Expansion. Folks that were born with a skill that is flatter on the top is locked physically to expand beyond adolescent. Folks that has slanted frontal part would try to expand beyond adolescent. That explains why hair started thinning as blood vessels was constricted with the skull expansion. The skull expansion would continue until it reaches a state when is not as slanted viewing from the side. When you transplant the hair there, it would be fine. But if you transplant hair onto area which is still undergoing skull expansion, the blood vessel would thin out and those hair would be lost as well no matter if it is dht predispoed or not.

As a woman, it is interesting to see this kind of almost dysmorphia, talking about all of his insecurities and then showing the pictures and not seeing any problem.
As a nurse I will say as tempting as it can be to have a procedure done in another country (due to the finances), if anything goes wrong, things can get really complicated…
No body wants to go overseas for hair transplant. I think most people in western countries have 30k+ for hair transplant.

Exactly, i know Turkey is the spot right now but daily i pray America can perfect this. I would honestly rather save and pay extra than to go overseas. Imagine if you have issues.. youl'd have to find someone in the US or head back to turkey and hope the new clinic doesn't screw up too.

Same thing happened to me. Got the transplant, never used any medication. First year or two, it looked pretty good, but after that transplanted hairs have gotten thinner and so it's almost going back to the pre transplant so i shaved my head now. 4th year now and I got a good hairline which is nice and also not nasty looking donor area is also good. But with no medication i guess the transplant worked only 40 percent of what i thought i would achieve honestly.
This is something that I needed to hear! Im about to get a transplant in a few weeks. I'm NW3 and I suspect that my transplant will only look. good for 2-5 years if I don't get on the meds. I will try them once I have it done, but if they don't work for me it's really good to know that it's possible to sport a shaved look, with a decent hairline. That's my main concern. Does your hairline, whilst shaved, look natural? How short do you wear it?
@@gabrielfoskett4262 Just be careful with the clinic and the doctor you choose. Get some warranty. And use medication. At this point i know that i'm not gonna get my hair from 20 years old back. Will try some micropigmentation later. Maybe 2 more transplants.

I'm genuinely looking forward to losing all my hair for convinience.
I started going bald as a mid teen and by 19 I had a full monk style hair loss pattern, but the sides and back remained thick.
i'm in my early 30's now and finally the sides and back are receeding at a nice pace, which means I won't need to bother shaving my head anymore.
I'm thankful that whatever happened to develop my mentality left me with no stress or care about the hair loss, I see so much stress about it and going through surgery to try and maintain it? I can't imagine it.
Not all heads can carry off the bald look but Dr Gary, have to say you make it look cool (plus the mo is a nice touch).
He should have been on some medical therapy/medication after he got the transplant to prevent any thinning hair. Prevention is key especially if you pay that much money for the procedure, you want to maintain those results.

Bro. One hair transplant is never enough for most cases. I did 3 FUE hair transplants and had the same problem. So I bought a laser cap and been on finasteride and dutesteride. Still wasn't fully enough. You know what I did to cover to small patches in between? SMP. Scalp Micro Pigmentation. It freaken works. I ever went and did SMP on the back so that the missing grafts are now covered up. All this resulted in me going from bald looking like I have a real NATURAL full head of hair.
Yes, but you have to do smp touch ups for the rest of your life
Pairing Dermmatch and Great Hair day foundation powder have helped to reduce the contrast between the scalp and thinning hair for my head. The only problem is, you can't really sleep with that stuff on your scalp or lean back on anything like a cushion because it'll leave a mark.
Really bizarre to get surgery without chemical therapy like finasteride to maintain the transplanted grafts...

I had a FUT took propecia for a number of years but had side affects and so stopped. My hair thinned but hopefully stabilised. It’s a hard one as I worry propecia has long term side affects and can cause other issues, but then end up with FUT scar visibility if you cut short. I have thought about going back on propecia - but now it may be too late, or have an FUE to top up and then take propecia. It is a battle. What is annoying is that surgeons don’t tell you that you will only keep it if you take the meds, they talk as if you will keep the hair as it keeps the donor properties but take on the hair loss too. Wish you were in the UK as I would have a consult with you too
Did consider FUE into my FUT scar too - but don’t know how well that works and hides the scar

Sometimes I complain about my hair being too thick, but I now know I take it for granted after seeing some of the struggles that people with hair loss face...
I'm a woman and my hair is getting really thin but you mostly see it on top of my head, by the crown. And I'm incredibly self conscious about it. I'm trying nearly everything to get it back to where it was a few years ago. I haven't tried a hair transplant because it sounds so painful. Now there's this to consider. Try minoxidil, it goes in tablets and you just take 1 a day. You'll need a prescription of a dermatologist though but the medication is not harmful.
Clean your diet up, look at you hormones and manage your stress and your hair will come back... The above 3 suggestions are simple but its a daunting task at the start.

It is hormonal imbalance. I was drinking milk everyday and it was the reason that triggered my hair loss. I think because of the hormones in milk which messed up my own hormones. I stopped drinking it and hair loss slowed down. But didn't stop completely

I'm using minoxidil for about 1 year now, I can say I have never had this amount of hair in my entire life.
I have been using it on my eyebrows too and it looks totally different than before, much much better!
I suggest that if you started noticing something different in your hair, or even if you have always had thin hair your entire life, go to the dermatologist and start your treatment.
You're so right! The issue with the guy on this video was that he was not patient enough (or informed) to use finasteride + minoxidil for at least 18 months once he realized his hair were thinning. He may still be able to recover but he needs to give some time and maintain the regime! It progresses slowly but after 1 year mark the improvement is astonishing in a lot of cases! Also, he needs to find a good doctor, in Turkey they pretty did not educate him about how to maintain and combat his hair-loss which is always chronic in men with androgenic alopecia!
@@snakeeater80 The problem is Finesteride play with the hormone, most people will have erectile dysfunction after using it for a while, the doctor will tell you it's side effect before surgery and most people will not use it, stopping Finesteride also documented to give people suicidal tendencies too, even when they have no prior self-harm case.

@@cheesecake3578 My husband uses it and I know other men that uses too, surely people have different experiences but I don't think the erection dysfunction is so common, is like when you read the medicine leaflet, they always mentions horrendous side effects that most people will never experiment.
Also, you can that use minoxidil, as pill or topic medicine, microneedling with it too.
I don't understand how someone can travel to another country, pay a huge amount for a surgery and not visit a good dermatologist that will prescribe medication and give you the cause of your problem.

Haven't heard about suicidal thoughts with its use, I know at least 3 Men ( one is my husband) that use it and are fine, also Men can use the minoxidil pill, which will improve their hair immensely, also you can use it on your beard too.
@@keo872 I don't think acne medicine is worst on males, cause Finesteride suppresses the male hormone specifically, there's a CZcams video bout it if you search "Stop using Finesteride suicidal thoughts" but it is listed as possible side-effects in the documents.
I went on Monoxidil in 2002 with phenominal results where I recovered half my losses in the crown back within 6 months. By 2014, the losses started getting more severe and even the front hairline was thinning so I went on Finasteride. That immediately thickened the crown & front hairline with really good results, but I still had to rely on hair fibers to cover the severe thinning in the crown. Then in May 2023 I got around 3200 FUE grafts. Now 1 month in, I'm probably suffering a little shock loss but I already see fuzz in the crown and front hairline so I'm hoping for a full head of hair in another 6 to 12 months.
On the day I got the FUE, I switched from topical to 1.25 mg oral Monoxidil in addition to keeping up the 1 mg Finasteride. It would be stupid to stop the medication at this point and it would undo all the money and effort I put in.
Finasteride is so bad for you, it’s ruins your sexual appetite, gives you ED and can cause prostate cancer. Just let it go man. Be happy

@@chloel5996 I'm at 7 months now and got most of the hair filled in. I still have some growth coming to fill out the remaining and hopefully have no indication of any thin spot in the crown after a year.

When i read the comments it makes me sad to think all the maintenance people have to do to hold on to their hair. Losing my hair was devastating and made me feel like i lost my idnetity. I considered a transplant but refuse to take meds in order to maintain it. The longer i left it the more i got use to it and in the end i feel like the key is acceptance. Its not the same for everyone but if your friends and family love you then its only you that needs to learn to do the same. I would love my hair back but not at the cost of my health.

Read this before booking:
I was desperate for help and stumbled upon a glossy Bloomberg video.
I fell for the whole presentation and booked immediately.
I later found out, Blue Magic isn’t on the ‘Top 10 clinics in Turkey’ list. I wish I had done much more research.
But I flew to Istanbul in May 2022.
I was picked up in a dirty van and brought to a mediocre hotel.
The clinic you see in the website photos and CZcams videos does not exist. Instead, I was brought to an empty office building with a very temporary set-up. I asked 4 people why we were in such a dingy building with mis-matched furniture. One told me they were renovating the old space, one said they have multiple offices, one said they were building a brand-new clinic and one said that this is their only space.
The first person who greeted me was a sloppily dressed student - my translator. She said, “who are you?” and gave me a document to sign. The document was a release form in case of death, waiving all responsibility. It also mentioned possible extra costs. It was a very odd welcome. No champagne, no greetings. I had questions about the document. She told me to sign it, and my questions would be answered later.
Four of us crammed into a tiny elevator. There were no COVID rules, no masks.
We arrived in the offices - I sat on some old IKEA furniture. The “doctors” and “technicians” were all around 22-25 years old. There was no leader or manager. The main “doctor” wore jeans and was maybe 28-30. The experienced old men in white coats from the videos were nowhere to be seen.
There were no staff rooms, the staff just hung out in the receptions area and looked lost and rather chaotic. There were no changing rooms, or any privacy at all. A man with a video camera was following us.
The reception desk doubled as a blood centrifuge station. The receptionist worked with blood samples less than a meter from where I sat.
The staff were on their phones the entire time. They had no other computers or tools. There were a few pieces of equipment scattered around. It did not feel at all like a medical facility. There was nothing hanging on the walls - only dust outlines from the previous tenants.
The man beside me was given a pill for his high blood pressure. He didn’t know what it was. Him and I started nervously counting the red flags.
I understand that the staff can’t all speak English, but they constantly pointed at us, talked and laughed in Turkish. That was unnerving.
We were to wear our street-clothes for the surgery. We were given no gowns.
When meeting with the “doctor”, I was asked all the questions I had already answered in my medical questionnaire weeks ago. He had done no preparation and didn’t have a copy or any paperwork at all. I had to inform him what procedure I was having.
I told him what the team had promised me, he disagreed and told me it was not possible. I showed him the many, many photos I was sent from the sales team, he just said: Not possible.
I was mis-informed about what results I could expect - and found this out in Istanbul, 10 minutes before the scheduled surgery.
I had already paid the full amount for the procedure. A 400 GBP deposit and a 1844.87 GBP payment that morning.
I was horrified. I decided not to do the surgery. The American man with the high blood-pressure walked out as well. Two of the four men backed out that day.
The American went back 2 weeks ago. In November 2022. Same building, same conditions, same staff. He said the procedure was horribly painful and would never do it again. He said: They are just a chop-shop.
Since May, the CEO’s assistant has tried to convince me to also come back. She apologized for almost everything, blamed culture differences for the rest, and thanked me for the valuable feedback. No compensation has ever been offered.
Finally in November, with no progress or acceptable solutions, I decided not to go back. Too many broken promises, too much misleading information. Too many reasons to just go somewhere else.
I asked multiple times for a refund. They have flat out refused. As a last resort, I threatened to leave some bad reviews. The CEO replied to may last mail on November 11 and wrote:
“Unfortunately from today onwards, no one at our company will be at your disposal neither will come back to you further this last email of mine. You can proceed with all the things you listed, I am sure it will keep your life busy for a bit. But I invite you to think about something. How good this will make you as a human being for acting unfairly towards a group of people that at the end of the day, only tried to help and support? Best of luck.”
Looking back, there were so many signs. The company has a “clinic” in Turkey, the employees are in Albania with, sometimes, British phone numbers. The company “headquarters” is in the UK. This means, there is no way to hold them legally accountable for anything. The messiness is intentional. My lawyer wouldn’t touch it.
But caution: The sales staff are unbelievable friendly. Super polite, almost creepy. They told me exactly what I wanted to hear every time. They comforted me and assured me. They called me 'family' and guaranteed we would all be best friends. They sent 30+ before and after photos of happy clients.
(I am not sure the clients are aware that their ‘before’ photos are being Whatsapped all over the world - without their consent)
I never waited more than 4 hours for an answer. Until they had my money. They have “medical specialists” to answer specific questions. Although, I have a biology degree, and most of what they told me was horribly inaccurate or completely wrong. I guess most people don’t question it?
My desperation for change and improvement somehow let me ignore so many things.
Turkey has many clinics. Blue Magic does own any special technology.
I contacted Bloomberg to ask if they know about the misrepresentation in their video. I have received no answer yet.
“Too good to be true” really applies here.
Did a hair transplant 5 years ago and it looked good tbf. After a few years the front started to look thinner and thinner so I gave up and shaved (3mm) my head. Yep the scar is quite visible on the back but I just decided to not give a shit.
I've watched so many of these hair transplant react videos now and I'm convinced a hair system is the best thing for me. I always thought the transplant was the goal. not anymore. hair system here I come

The transplant scars I’ve seen honestly don’t look bad to me. Maybe it’s different in person but he could rock that just fine from what I’m seeing here. And he’s still got the lower hairline too which also looks good while buzzed

It's so annoying and tired of listening to the people around you that says having hair transplant is a form of 'vanity'.. No, I don't think so. . The difference between Vanity and of Correction are way too much,whereas the vanity was only to enhance or add what you don't have before in your self while the Correction is simply just 'taking back in' what you've lost already like for instance a hair -of which is the symbol of Manhood's crown of confidence and dignity.
In my late teens, early 20s I moved from California to Miami. Because of the humidity, I always kept my head shaved or cut close. I soon began to appreciate the low maintenance and not having to spend all the money I used to, on hair products.
Now that I've lost the hair years later, its a non-issue. I wish it would all fall off my head and save me the shaving time. 😅

Something similar happened to me, while I had hair, I really don't like any hairstyle, so i used really short (#1 or 2 with machine), I was like my hair hasn't any function. 20 years later, bold with some hair, I use the same cut. Of course I really wish to have my hair back and have the option of long hair. But on the other hand I don't suffer any depression about that, it's just the cut of always

I realized really early on, maybe 16 or 17, looking around the table at a big family Christmas dinner where no male in my family over 30 had a full head of hair that i was going to go bald and just accepted it as fact. I enjoyed my hair while i had it and as it started to thin out i just shave my head now.

Hello Doc! Really enjoying your videos. Recently have done my hair transplantation in Turkey about a month ago. So far everything is going smooth, I am going through the fallout faze. During this period have decided to grow my facial hair, and discovered that I have some patchy spots on my left side, the barber is recommending me to use minoxidil. What do you think, would it be safe for me to use minoxidil now? Or better to wait until my transplanted hair settles down? Thanks in advance!

Dr. Gary, could you please make a video on how the recovery works if there is suspected gut dysbiosis/candida overgrowth/parasites etc. Does this potentially interfere with nutritional absorption and the new hair? I am taking ParaGuard and am getting underskin pimples on the scalp. Will have to stop, but ultimately need to get rid of the critters to have a healthier gut and hair...
Question: Can regular biotin intake somehow preserves healthy hair growth?

So, unless you continue to use Fin etc even after a transplant, the transplanted hair that is taken from a location on the back of the head which is geneticly suppose to grow forever... will still die and fall out?
My understanding is not only could you lose the transplanted hair, but you'd also jeopardise the hair around it that you may have stabilised by taking fin. In other words, all hair is in peril once your off.
Gary, if i may ask? Why have you not done hair transplantation? is it by choice or there are side effects you are concerned about?

Dont take finasterid as a woman though. Male and female hair is very different.
If your hair is thin in your 20s even - start then. Henna,massages,microneedling,minoxidil, mesotherapy, refraining from heavy extensions and so on.

My hair was also thinning for some years. So before deciding if surgery was for me, I needed to test how I would look bald. So I ended up shaving one of my testies completely bald, drew some eyes and a smile on it. Then I took a picture of it and sent it to 5 different chicks to get multiple opinions. 3 of them blocked me and the other two just put laughing emojis. I knew after that I’d need to get the surgery. So I got it six months ago. And about two weeks ago the two chicks asked how it was coming along, so I said it to take about another 6 months and it’ll look full. Then I sent them that same testie pic except the bush has been growing out for about 7 months at that point. Then they both blocked me. Point is chicks don’t know what they truly want. Get the transplant for yourself
After surgery it's crucial in the first year to take care of yourself meaning eating right exercising taking natural DHT blockers using light laser helmet, DHT blocker shampoos and conditioners..

I’m in the Same boat as this man , I’m 3 years into my hair transplant and it’s thinning and falling out. I can’t take medication due to the side effects. Looks like I’m just going to have to brave the shave. It’s pointless getting another one

My hair transplant lasted about 2 years. I don’t blame anyone as I couldn’t cope with the side effects of the meds. I look like I’m constantly still in the ugly ducklings phase so I keep in buzzed to 1mm. I thought about having a repair surgery but without meds I don’t see the point.
@@absurdistloft it’s wierd, I don’t know what I’ve done or what I’m doing but it looks better today where I’ve been transplanted to what it was last year. I think it gets to a point where it stops falling out. Or you go through phases. My crown is thinning more though, so it’s thick everywhere but the bald spot on my crown

I'M BALD AND HAPPY, I'LL SHAVE MY HEAD ONCE OR TWICE A WEEK AND I'M GOOD, NO COMB HERE
It's been two and a half years since I did mine, also in Turkey, and it looks amazing. This guy didn't do the follow-up treatment and did not use Minoxidil or Finasteride (or both), that's why his hair is so thin. I used Rogaine every day for the past 2 and a half years and stopped the balding process. This is something to consider before you go ahead and do the intervention. You will need to use Minoxidil or Finasteride for the rest of your life because your un-transplanted hair will eventually fall and you will end up with your transplanted hair only on your head if you don't. And if you only did the hairline and temples, it would probably look really weird and funny :) Also, if you see your hair thinning and your hairline receding, it would probably be a good idea to start using Minoxidil to preserve the hair and not do the intervention a couple of years later.
What about if you are already Norwood 7? There is no untrasplanted hair that will really fall, as the hair that is programmed to fall has all fallen. The hair in the "horseshoe" area remains forever, so there wouldnt be a risk of it falling even if not taking anything.
@@leflake True, but then you won't have enough hair in the donor area to transplant it. You will have to do it in 2-3 sessions.

Hi Doc! I've already decided to go bald years ago (family history) instead of stressing out on things like this. I do want to ask though -- is there any research out there that tackles hair loss and possibly, reverse the process? How viable are they if ever? Will someone who lost their hair gradually get them back? I may be thinking within the realms of fantasy but would take it anytime.
It is not possible because it is DNA caused.

@@expensivepink7 for awhile, i desperately tried going for haircuts that would hide the ever looming receding hairline until one day, while I was doing thesis, i decided to just go bald (i guess stress makes us do crazy things lol) and has been bald ever since! To be honest though, i miss the time when I can style my hair any way I want. Those were the days.

Every time youtube suggests me videos such as this is an uplifting experience. I had a huge mane when I was into rock music, down to my waist. And now, when my hair is thinning, I really don't care, nor my wife, or my children. And to see people poor so much money, and time into their insecurities is kinda making me feel better about myself. People should waste more money on regular checkups, or maybe on their gut health, and not this. Unless their work depends on it, like modeling, or hosting shows.
Agree. The medicines for hair loss are really horrible and minoxidil only prevents loss at the mid scalp. Hair transplants are expensive and if the hairs aren’t placed right it’ll look weird. Just let it fall naturally and cut it short. Men need to accept themselves as they are. By placing importance on your hair and letting it impact your confidence, men are giving themselves the recipe to be unhappy. One day they will shave their hair, transplant isn’t forever regardless what webmd says. And these men will realize none of it mattered.
