Had this controller for 6 years, and never knew you could use effects with external sources like turntables, by switching the deck on the controller. Must have been in one of the updates, because i remember people asking for this feature after launch.

What's up and thanks for watching! I was part of beta testing for refinements to the MCX. I can't recall if it was an enhancement or already a feature. This ability however is the one thing lacking from the current Prime Series from Denon DJ. Please give us a thumbs up and subscribe!
I dj clubs to Weddings for all types of cultures alongside all types of DJs, the MCX8000 is the best for all types of events big or small, Pro levels down to someone who is just testing the waters.. 3years no flaws other than my personal errors
I totally agree. I use the MCX more than any other piece of equipment that I have.
I think they had some teething problems in the beginning but now it's all sorted..

I've seen a few videos about the product and yours was the first review that actually mentioned the FX being post-fader, but not post-xfader. That's so important to know! Great video! I've been debating between this and the prime 4 as a stand alone unit, since people are getting rid of these for the DDJ 1000 or Prime 4.

@@alexdean4962 Still use it. My go to board for the majority of my gigs. I also have the Mixars Quattro and Pioneer's DDJ-SZ. All will work with turntables (analog or DVS). Please subscribe and keep me posted on your choice.
I’ve never used any dinner on products yet, but from what I can see so far my biggest complaint would be that on their controllers or standalone systems. They put really small jog wheels on them. A 6 inch jog wheel is too small. They should put at least 7 inch jog wheels on there.
I make beats and engineer and a homeboy of mine suggested I get into learning to dj and he agreed to sell me his mcx8000 because he just got the ddj1000 and switched to Rekordbox. I totally want to add turntables to learn to scratch, but I wonder if I can use my Maschine Mk3 or Jam in the Maschine software while also operating within Serato DJ Pro… This setup looks like my ideal dream, minus the mk3 or jam of course 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Maschine is NI wich works with traktor.. If your maschine doesnt need a laptop to work you could plug it in through one of the channels like he did with turn table and use it live. But i dont think it can work through the serato program on laptop. But cpuld be used side by side maybe need 2 laptops?.

The phono pre-amps actually sound very good on this Controller. far, far better than the Pioneer DDj-1000
Hi. I was wondering if you are still using the MCX 8000? Or if you have yet experienced any of the issues that others have complained about? I bought one and really love it but I'm scared to take it on a gig. I joined a Facebook group for people who own this console and every single post is from somebody who is having a problem with the console not working the way it should. Do you think the MCX8000 is reliable enough to be used in a professional setting a wedding? I also have a prime 2 and I've never heard anybody complain about the prime series, but I just love the look and feel of the MCX8000 much more.

Thanks for this! Wow, functionally, this setup looks really great! Especially at that price. To be able to seamlessly transition from stand-alone to vinyl/external to serato, that just seems ridiculously superior. Then to add in the DVS ability? Is there any other system you can even do all this with? Can you set up the X1800 with 2 SC5000’s and 2 turntables and get essentially the same functionality? (For 3x the price 😳)
Hi Andin and thanks for watching. Yes, with the x1800 & SC5000's you would be able to transition between the 3 modes, however, I'm unsure if you'll be able to use the SC5000's touchpads with a DVS source. It's worth investigating.

The standalone is what catches my attention, or should I wait until the Denon DJ Prime 4 is available?
I just got the MCX8000 about a month and I'm loving it. Its stand alone features feel dated and limited, but I use it with Virtual DJ and Serato without any issues. .For the price ($500-800 in the US) I can't picture finding better. not even close.
I use it with Windows 11 and Windows 10 without driver issues. That was a serious issue with my NS7ii, and the NS7iii doesn't add enough to warrant the $1,000+ dollars. the 8000 is a serious update.
Where is the Beatgrid vor Beatmatching like on the CDJs?
As it looks like now it's finally discontinued, can you explain what to look when going to buy it second hand? I've been thinking almost all 2020 in buying it, but many many people complain about issues and now it's difficult to find it new, so it would be great to know what to check to avoid a disaster. Hey honest question, because the people at guitar center didn't know anything 😅 I'm looking to buy a DJ Controller, I had my heart set on the Denon MC7000 or the Pioneer SR2.
I went to guitar center and the guy said that the Denon MC7000 is discontinued and the next one up they have is the Denon MC8000. I was leaning towards getting the MC7000 but he said I shouldnt get it because they discontinued it, now I'm looking at the MC8000 and trying to see if I should just spend more and get that or a pioneer around the same price.
Any suggestions on what is best? Versitility matters, and quality feel.

The 8000 is better than the 7000 also because it's able to use the newer Prime software. Which is an updated version of Engine. Versatility is what gives Denon the upper hand when compared to Pioneer. Usually, with Pioneer you're stuck with one, maybe 2 software's like Serato & Virtual DJ. I wished more of Pioneer controller's would be both RekordBox & Serato but, I think there's only a couple.
If you're a beginner, start with a good 2 channel. Or, if you know for sure that you'll be in it to win it then go with a 4 channel with phono-line inputs & standalone features like FX.
I just got me a little something until something newer comparable to the Denon Prime 4 comes out either by Roland, Pioneer, or anyone reputable that can offer the modern features that Denon recently released with their Prime series.
I'm probably going to add the SC6000M to my Roland controller or, wait. It's like everything I got interested in has Cons that ended up changing my mind. Like the DDJ-1000. Which is only if you care more about the platters than anything else like easy loop functions amongst other basic user friendly functions that others have. BTW, the RekordBox version is better & cheaper because of more features available if you're interested in that one.
suggestion...ddj1000 i got rid of my mcx8000 for it and havent looked back

Yes, the MC7000 will soon be discontinued BUT will be supported by Denon DJ for some time to come. Being discontinued doesn't mean that it won't be a good investment. I would recommend the 7000 over the SR2 as it's a 4-channel controller instead of 2-channel (SR2) and it gives you more versatility. I would also recommend the DDJ-SX3 if it's within your budget.

Response is the same in standalone as in controller mode. Crossfader is more responsive than the line faders. I don't recommend using the line faders for fast cutting. Thanks for watching.
I think the lack of 4channel mode in standalone is a huge mistake. But thats just my opinion

I've been having it for 4 years now. Can say that you can really do anything you wanton them and be creative just as on Pinoeers CDJs.
But from the day I've purchased it is kinda laggy and glitchy? For exeample sometimes when you press the button to stop playing the song the waveform on screen still show like the song is still playing but if y turn up the volume is not playing XD wondering if anyone else having same problems
second thing i noticed is when you change the effect live on deck which is playing the track so you change lets say from echo to reverb(shift+turning the effect knob)....if you change it to fast the sound start lagging
but however everything else works fine and is great for every kind of usage from partys, weeding etc. :)
Hi Majej, and thanks for watching and please subscribe! I don't know if I would compare the MCX to CDJs. They are quite different pieces of equipment and largely different price points. I've had my MCX for nearly 4 years and it has proven fairly reliable. I use mine either standalone or with Serato via a Macbook Pro. I've heard of issues similar to yours from Windows PC users. My experiences (either with Mac or PC) is to make sure that your computer is fully optimized to ensure the best and most reliable performance from the DJ software of your choice. Also, in standalone mode, it's advisable to use a great quality USB Flash drive. I current go to USB is a SanDisk 256GB Ultra Fit USB 3.1 Flash Drive. A drive this size hold more than enough music, and I can play over 90% of my events with it.

@@DjVloggers Yeah i agree MCX costs as much as 1 CDJ 2000 and also have a lot more functions and those things but its really good option for a begginer or even more advanced DJ...weeks ago Clay Clemens came at my place, hes also famous and hes playing in big clubs, you may heard of him and he also said its very good choise but a bit expensive for just a begginer but however you can do a lot of stuff on it and for sure is different feeling as if you play on CDJs :)
Yes at the moment I am only using a laptop for DJing, its nothing special by its specifications but can be the one who causes the problems. Any advice on how to optimise the PC?
I checked the USB you've recomended and I think is worth to invest in it, its also very good deal I mean 32$ for 256GB is just awesome :)
But I was allways more comfortable playing with laptop iI don't know why but when I was playing with USB; that waveform on screen - it looks kinda messy and you can't really see the sections of the song, for exeample when you bring up new track, you look at the waveform and you immediately know ohh intro is 16 bars long, drop 24 bars and so on :):

Very Nice! Is it possible to change the tempo individually on each deck? When pressed on one, it changes the same on the other, I wanted to leave a deck with time left, and another with a start time, is it possible? I only use a pendrive, I don't like to use a computer. Thanks if you have any tips!
Yes, you need to have it on sync lock to do that, it will change all the tempos on each channel, except for turntables not in dvs mode.
Good video man. Are you happy after several time using it? Do you have any complaint with the unit? (software freezes, bad audio quality after a lot of hours playing, etc...) As you will imagine, I'm thinking to acquire one of these two... the mcx8000 or Prime 4... and yes, the Prime 4 maybe it's too much for me... I'm still doubting. I specially love the function on this unit to use at same time the computer, line-in and internal player. Prime 4 seems that cannot do that... for the moment. Thanks for your time! Cheers!
I've had mine for over three years. I use it more than anything else in my arsenal. I get an occassional display error on startup when using it as a controller (happens about 3-4 times over an entire year), but it's easily resolved with a restart. I've never had an issues that severely impacted me at any event, and I use the MCX atleast 2-3 times a week.

@@DjMulen This has never happened to me. The majority of MCX owners are happy with the product. If you search the internet, you will always find someone with some kind of complaint regardless of the product or manufacturer. My experience with the MCX could be far different than others. One thing to note is that my MCX is 3 years old, still look factory fresh, and I'm not abusive to my gear as I purchased it to earn an income. Good luck!

I am a pioneer user; I am looking to use the Mc800 in a few days. I don't have Serato, but I have rekorbox. What's can I use to analyze my music for the mc800 unit, or can I just simple my all tracks on a USB and plugged into the board. Any recommendations?

The MCX won't recognize your rekordbox crates. Your best bet is to run the USB through Engine Prime v1.6 (not the latest release). Engine Prime v1.6 is still available and free to download on DenonDJ.com under the MCX8000 tab. Using Engine Prime will analyze the files allowing for correct display of the metadata and track BPM. Another option is to use raw tracks on a USB, but you'll see the track as files (i.e: "01Michael_Jackson_Beat_It_2.mp3")

@@NewVisionLCS What's up and thanks for watching. Yes you can play truly standalone but with some limitations. Unlike the newer Prime products that you mentioned, there is no onboard track analysis, no QWERTY search of library, and I don't recommend using USB Drives larger than 256GB. One benefit over the newer Prime Series is that the MCX is able to switch between standalone and computer mode (Serato) without rebooting.

Both are great boards but it depends on your needs.Both will work great as 2-channel standalone boards, however the MCX8000 will expand to 4 channels of control when using Serato. The RX2 is 2 channels with an AUX 3rd input, does not work with Serato, but works flawlessly with Pioneer's Rekordbox software. It's hard to recommend one over the other. It pretty much boils down to your personal taste when it comes to software (Rekordbox vs Serato) and your needs (2-channel vs 4-channel).

@@sevirra8047 What's up Sevirra. The answer is no. It's only 2-channels in standalone. Denon's Prime 4 is the only board currently on the market that's truly 4-channel standalone. Keep tuned. A Prime 4 review as well as a comparison between the Prime 4 and MCX is in the works. Stay tuned.
