  • After many years, I finally got to train with Nick Hemmers. Nick is the head coach at Hemmers Gym in Breda, the Netherlands. He coaches many World Champions and top contenders: Marat Grigorian, Jamal Ben Saddik, Harut Grigorian, Filip Verlinden, etc.
    He is the brother of the Legendary, Ramon Dekkers, and Son to one of Dutch kickboxing's pioneers, Cor Hemmers (who watches some of our training in the video!).

    His dedication towards his profession/art is laudable. A teaching that you me and others may miraculously hope to pick up. Even though it may be too late in age.
    Awesome Joseph.

      Unfortunately he has a medical condition: post concussion syndrome hence the early retirement. On the plus side he is taking the time to share his knowledge and build his brand as a coach.

    • @montinyek6554
      @montinyek6554 Před 4 lety +1

      aperezdeal it's not permanent though, but if i was him i'd never get back in the ring, he's achieved enough already

    • @aperezdeal
      @aperezdeal Před 4 lety +1

      Montin Yek oh that’s fantastic news! I thought it was permanent. Thank you for the update!

    • @montinyek6554
      @montinyek6554 Před 4 lety +1

      aperezdeal yeah no the symptoms are not permanent, but if he does get concussed again it will probably be worse than the first time, the brain doesn't adapt to trauma like other parts of the body unfortunately, instead it keeps breaking down

    • @aperezdeal
      @aperezdeal Před 4 lety +1

      Montin Yek ah that was the impression that I was under. I agree with your original comment that he looks great/ sharp. Have a great weekend.

    It's only a matter of time before you pass Shane Fazen. No disrespect to him though. But I'd take advice from a world champion much faster than some dude with no status as a fighter at all. Keep it coming!

    • @ldy-di2el
      @ldy-di2el Před 4 lety +3

      No need to be disrespectful Shane is a good martial artist who works with great fighters on content. You need to remember a lot of the best coaches weren't the best fighters look at firas Zahabi
