I love(d) both my genesis and SNES. But the SNES is simply better with Mortal Kombat. AND the controller that comes standard suits the game better than the Genesis controllers.
SNES wins the round, missing skull, blood and animation on shang tsung, cyrax, sheeva and sub zero. Sindel needs verification with arcade version. Some smoke animation were erred on genesis victim coordinates. SNES large color palette allows for darker background during fatalities matches the arcade.
@@urosasin8979 Not really. 3 has a lot of shared fatalities, especially the decapitating uppercut (which only gets worse in UMK3 and Trilogy), and the bisected sprites look like they were cut with Paint (instead of the unique sprites they had on the first two games).

Johnny Boy Strikes Back yea but its unfair to compare the 2D powerhouse saturn console vs the snes and genesis. Minds well say the arcade outshines them all
Just stating the facts, Steck. Indeed the Saturn is a 2D powerhouse, one which has always been greatly underappreciated by gamers as a console, and one that came out just three months after Moral Kombat 3 on these two contending consoles. So while it's unfair to compare 16bit to 32, there was a much superior alternative in a very short amount of time, with Ultimate MK3 arriving just six months later, on the sega saturn October 6, 1995. Also worth noting the arcade perfect MK II was right there with it.
Johnny Boy Strikes Back yea you're right. I didnt even know mk2 was on saturn until recently. Ill have to pick it up if i can find it. Otherwise burn it and disc swap it which gets annoying after a while

Vanilla MK3 is better on SNES imo, but Ultimate MK3 goes to MD because it has more backgrounds. The MD versions play a little faster than the SNES and the arcade versions, but the SNES ports play more accurate (the arcade original isn't meant to be that fast). Both systems have good ports, but certainly I never liked MK3 and Ultimate MK3 (MK2 is still my favourite).
Not saying that this was a bad thing, but Genesis limited color pallet looks like when you turn Windows 98 to 16 color mode. Or when I save a gif in Photoshop reducing the color palette to 16 or 32 colors. Mortal Kombat had too much details which were lost in the Genesis version.
cara o melhor vídeo Game dos anos 1990 que teve o gráfico mais lindo foi o Snes de todos os vídeo Games antigos o Super Nintendo Snes ganha por te o gráfico mais lindo então eu prefiro o Snes 😊
The Snes looks more detailed (although its image ratio was cropped, which causes the overall games on it to look asymmetrical and disproportionate.) Although the key here is each system's sound output producing different results. One of the best examples of this is on the temple stage here: czcams.com/video/M_X77jvthA8/video.html. The MD sounds like a harmonica/organ. While the SNES sounds more along the lines of a piano. The MD does have better sound variety and is less muffled than the SNES, creating an overall more dynamic experience (at the cost of the sound being more distorted.) The SNES favors precision and accuracy, but this costs the sounds the power they need to really bring out the twisted nature of the game (which causes the game to feel more generic or forces more/less sounds to be used.) Although the reverberation, percussion, and bass do add a more 'industrial' vibe to the music (The Streets and Rooftop come to mind) On stages like The Subway: czcams.com/video/x0iyCXdePwQ/video.html, the SNES has better drums, background beats and more 'realism' to it (thanks to the precision.) The MD sounds more distorted (with each soundclip lacking a changing flowchart midbeat), but the MD has no issue with using many different beat clippings to mitigate that (although the ending loop suffers notably.) The MD has issues stringing together long beats with flowcharts, so the system has to string together small beats to make it sound more exuberant and sometimes it falls flat (The Rooftop shows it: czcams.com/video/apzlVcDuOTc/video.html.) The best example of the SNES's muffled clipping is the Living Forest in MK II (czcams.com/video/S2VsvH7vjIc/video.html.) I enjoy the nature-like vibes the SNES's clipping gives the place, but the muffling effects destroy the flute, the reverberation, percussion, and bass. It sounded as if it didn't want the stage to bring out it's twisted bizarre nature (which is what the MD's clipping can do reasonably better, although it's not without its faults with making longer beats sound more precise.) The MD version of Living Forest embraces the distorted beats of the song and sounds completely in tune with the forest, as if the forest itself has overtaken the normal instruments that would play (the flute, drums, and the guitar.) The worst offender for both is here at The Portal: czcams.com/video/zjCq4f3rPLE/video.html. Both have a hard time replicating the the melody and tempo of the original. The SNES does its best to keep the tempo and melody (which it does) but it lacks the power to force out the dynamic nature of the music (due to the muffle effects.) the MD's lack of precision causes it to branch off of the tempo and core melody, causing it to sound like something from another game (despite the power it exudes.) Overall, both have their faults (although I strongly believe the MD had better soundclipping for more of its games, but the SNES really blew it out of the water with games like FF V/VI and Chrono Trigger having better music than most of the MD's game selection.) But, at least they have music that's likable, MK X has some of the most boring music in the series (the older MK games had stupendous music.)
A versão do snes é mais assustador, a tela do fatality escurece mais e a escrita parece sangue derramando, além de aparecer uma breve tela vermelha quando o personagem executa o massacre.
The first version of Mortal Kombat 3 i remember playing was the Play Station then a few months later SNES version. The SNES version us superior to the Genesis one.

man you should show a real vs video instead of speeding up the snes video. i remember like it was yesterday the lag the snes had when doing a fatality compared to the genesis. that was one of my deciding factors on getting a genesis.
Yeah the Super Nes wins but only just! You have to remember that in the 16 bit conversions of MK, Sculptured Software did the Super Nes versions while Probe handled the Megadrive versions (MK 2 which I don't mind and MK 1 which is pretty damn horrid!) through out the 90's! It wasn't until late 1995 when Sculptured was asked as well to handle the Megadrive versions too did it make all the difference regarding speech and sounds did the Super Nes owners took for granted etc. And lets not go down via ROM hacks where the Megadrive is the clear cut winner!!!

William's should've developed mk1 and 2 for the genesis.
Snes kills Genesis 😎
There is always the same games that are better/worse on the different consoles. Just like this, MK3 MD > SNES, but for example Battletoads and Battletoads & Double Dragon is better on NES (not SNES) than any other platform. The sound of SNES is what Nintendont.
man you should show a real vs video instead of speeding up the snes video. i remember like it was yesterday the lag the snes had when doing a fatality compared to the genesis. that was one of my deciding factors on getting a genesis.
Genesis, better controls and less crap sound.
bhai karte kese hai wo bhi tip de do
Yeah. SNES wins it for me
Snes wins! Fatality!
Same developers. Hence more similarities.
SNES WINS!
