The Ur-Dragon makes sense, it’s probably one of the most popular commanders ever.

Honestly I think there's a lot of potential with the alt commander, Azlask, as well
I don’t like ulalek I think his ability is okay but if it’s ulamog and zokliek then where did the colors come from. I think this is a trick from a lore standpoint by Kozliek or emrakaul influencing everyone. Eldrazi titan do t need color and never will

Note about the Ur-Dragon: u only get 1 perm per combat (ignoring effect doublers)
Build ur dragon deck around copying ur dragon and doubling effects and creating multiple combat phases.
correction, spot removal is not enough against a decent jodah deck, they will ramp and replay infinitely, win faster or run permanent transforms a la imprisoned in the moon. they might run draw enchant removal if you are unlucky, but many are mega greedy and won't run much.
Also, Jodah’s mana requirement is intense enough that the deck is rather slow. At best, you can fast mana him out turn 1 but be completely out of gas.
@@satansamael666 not like you want him on turn 1 in any game. You want to first build board or hand that has protection and then cast Jodah. And start casting spells like ghalta primal hunger to get big swing turn.
@@Taskuli12 then you can’t use the Fierce Guardianship cycle as effectively. Jodah is honestly pretty balanced.
Dont forget about morophon for tribal decks
My favorite will always be Ramos. A mana engine that keeps on giving and can swing hard.
Bro Ramos has always been the commander of my 5 color dragons combo him with lux artillery and tenor sabertooth and you have infante mana and your dragons can go wild don’t get me wrong the ur-dragon is cool but if I’m getting mana Jammed Ramos can fix that and besides you can’t overdraw with Ramos
Ramos is so good and versatile. Much love for that robo dragon.

I like my 5C General: Captain Temper-Tantrum (aka Child of Alara). He's a catch-all answer to nearly every problem save for lands. There are a number of solid lands that serve as detonators (sac outlets). And reloading him is rarely an issue because there are a few lands that will retrieve him from the bin.
I have had Ur-Dragon built since the Precon came out and its my one deck I love to update and make flashy.
I'm still pleased that my first prismatic deck was Tom Bombadil.
I have the Ur-dragon as my commander of my dragon deck. It's so much fun.
I was expecting tiamat over ur dragon tbh since emenicance is so hilariously broken i forget it exsisted
What we need is more 4-color commanders. I wanted to make a WRBG -1/-1 counter deck but there weren't any commanders or partners that synergized well.
And before anyone asks why: Vizier of Remedies/Devoted Druid is WG along with a lot of Persist creatures, and all the best Wither/Infect support is RB. Tried for WUBRG but no commanders synergized there, either.
I was expecting Sisay. Easy to fast mana her out and start tutoring answers or win cons like a good midrange engine.
I hoped to see Tiamat in there 😢
It's funny seeing commanders that have 20k+ deck lists and then seeing my favorite commanders who have like 50 total

I have a Jodah deck and made it 99% out of cards Ive pulled from packs...and it still SLAPS. So easy to build around.
I have a Jodah deck. If I'm allowed to cast while he's on the field, the game is probably going to end very soon.
Kenrith is great in any deck, and I love the Jodahs
I'm the kind of guy who likes to play big Mana stuff. And my Ramos, Dragon Engine pubstomper deck is my pride and joy. Do you like free* money? Of course you do! Ramos has *insane* growth potential. once the engine is going you can play a *Progenitus EVERY TURN* and get rewarded just for being WUBRG.
Bro want to hear something get out of hand play lux artillery then Ramos casting for all 5 colors it will enter with 5 counters cast helm of the hosts equip it to Ramos go to combat (attack don’t does not matter) create a copy of Ramos an your main phase 2 cast tamer sabertooth remove the 5 counters for Ramos effect for 2 of every mana float most of it and use tamper sabertooth ability to kick it back to your hand recast it for one of each color and enjoy infinite mana if you want this to be a game ender add impact tremors
Now why the 2nd Ramos the first one is infinite mana the 2nd is just there to gain the power of the spells you cast with your unlimited mana give it trample just in case and GG

Sure the ur-dragon is fun I also have Ramos dragon engine as the commander of my 5 color dragon deck the reason is combo of lux artillery temor sabertooth and Ramos is a 3 card infanint mana combo and my dragons love to abuse it ❤

I love how the Ur-Dragon makes all other dragons cost less. When we really need this mf to cost less money.

I think 5 colours is against the spirit of commander. A 5 colour deck is basically a standard deck

First Sliver only has about 10k decks on EDHREC
First Sliver and Sliver Overlord kinda split the sliver scene, so neither is as popular as any of these.
You could probably put all Sliver legends into the same pile considering they're almost entirely interchangable.
@@Zakading Honestly, Sliver Queen is clearly trying to be as fast to infinite combo as possible. First Sliver is the most aggro. Legion is the win con in the command zone. Hivelord is defensive and maybe a little board wipe prone. Overlord is the most controlling. Gravemother is the newest and strangest, but could be good. And then there's Rukaramel or Morophon for people who want a nonsliver to Command their slivers for the sake of shenanigans. But no matter who you choose, you probably have all the sliver ones in your deck somewhere, if you can afford them
@@SwedeRacerDC Oh, yeah, they definitely all do something different and have a different priority for which slivers they want in which order, but the average sliver deck can likely just freely switch between any sliver legendary it likes best and work just fine

Did some homework on him. In summary, he's good because in CEDH if you don't have infinite mana on turn 1 you suck at the game and he's really good at being able to spend infinite mana to do cool stuff

he’s also 5 colors and the other 5 color commanders don’t have as much to benifit from things like fast mana, combos and other things that your looking for in cedh. that’s why 4 color decks usually run cedh.

Ur Drag also notably good in Changeling Tribal! The cost reduction is SO good for them, doubly so with a maskwood nexus in play
I honestly hate five color commanders and hope wotc stops making five color cards that are absolutely bonkers. It’s so dumb to play against a deck that’s literally just all the best cards in magics history
They're good when they're actually themed. Jared and Jenson Carthalion are both "5-color-matters", which isn't something any other legendary does and is far from a heavily established archetype. Tom Bombadil similarly is RELATIVELY niche, building around Sagas, though as more and more of those come out, that'll naturally also turn into goodstuff.dec. Others like Codie, Rukarumel and Tazri also have pretty niche decks to themselves.

I hate all 5 color commanders. It's always the same boring generic goodstuff with no weaknesses, or ""tribal deck but this time with everything!!". Id rather do some interesting off color tribal thing like selesnya dragons or mono black elves, anything but another lame ass WUBRG pile of generic staples.
5C are whack! Most of them are just 5C good stuff and lack personality
