Pre-order today on Kickstarter: pkdsn.com/ks
What if carrying and changing your camera lenses was easy? Imagine changing lenses with one hand, with your spare lens easily accessible on the outside of your bag, right when you need it. We think CaptureLENS and Lens Kit are the fastest, most secure, most convenient way of carrying and changing lenses that's ever been made. - Zábava
WE NEED a M4/3 mount for this...After all there are now 17 companies in the M4/3 consortium - making products for M4/3 shooters folks!
I'd love one for Fuji X-Mount lenses
I love the product... All of your products actually. One addition to this I see will be needed is a cover for the un used end. I guess I should be able to use the cover for the camera body. I am a natur photographer, and can guarantee debris will fall into the open upper section. Attach a lens flip it around, and now the lens is full of that debris.A dedicated cover with a leash as part of the system seems like a valuable improvement.Greta overall idea.
Another vote for a Fuji X mount!
Very interesting. However, I would be concerned about dust, dirt, moisture (or worse) getting in the open top connector of the lens capture. Every time you flip the lenses to grab the top one, you are then dumping anything in the lens capture opening onto the back element of the lens now on the bottom. Hmmm.
you guys are the best thing to hit the camera accessories market in years
Love the subtle clicks you include into the video
I was just thinking about how i needed something like this, you guys always deliver!
FINALLY! Been excited about this since the last Live Q&A when I asked about a lens solution!
Peak Design is absolutely brilliant!
Hey folks, if you're wondering how to pre-order, we just added instructions in the description above. To reiterate:
1. Become a backer of our current Kickstarter project (pkdsn.com/ks). Join at any reward level (or, don't select a reward level).
2. Add $80 to your pledge (for CaptureLENS) or $40 (for Lens Kit). You can add those funds when initially backing this project, or you add them after the fact by clicking "Manage My Pledge" at the top of the page.
3. You're done for now. After our Kickstarter project is complete (late September) we'll send you a survey where you can specify which model you'd like.
+Peak Design Video Hello there. Just a question. What about the weight of the lens? Can be a 70-200 2.8 with no problem?
Fuji X camera mount, please!!
Very cool idea. You rock as always! :)
Fujifilm x-mount please!!
No X Mount options? The Fuji X series continues to win awards. Would be a good idea to start taking Fujifilm seriously...
Ridiculously brilliant.
This looks great, but another vote for doing one for micro 4/3 mounts, please ... otherwise no good to me :(
I could basically watch this video all day. Yap...
I LOVE THIS COMPANY.
I died a little when that lens fell to the ground, I don't care if that is a fake lens or not. Super great product by the way! I'm excited to get a couple of that!
I backed the Kickstarter for the new Slide and Capture v3 products. I should get them today and I'm super excited! However, I could definitely foresee getting a Micro 4/3 version of this if you make it! :D
Do you have plan to support M43 lens?
I NEED Capture Lens for M43 !!!
M4/3 mount please.
I do realize there is a cap for the lens capture opening. But as shown, it needs to be off while changing and flipping lenses around. It's not necessarily easy to hold the cap, and still use two hands to remove the lens from the camera, or swap lens with with the other lens on the lens capture. Clever idea. Just not sure about this yet.
Does this work with M4/3 lenses?
Wow, just came to comment about micro four-thirds... but it seems like everyone is already clamoring for that in the comments.
M4/3 is getting more common, so after your current Kickstarter, perhaps a M4/3 Kickstarter is in order :)
good idea! This will help those with the kit with 18-55 and 70-210 type of lens match that seems ever popular.
for me though - when on a news shoot...
still do not have time to lens
change so I am a fan of my Nikon monster
zoom 18 to OMG lens
Awesome idea! I would buy it if you supported m4/3 lenses.
Wish you had this available for Pentax
Amazing just amazing...
Super ! Order placed
First I want to say I have most of your products & love them. This seems like a great idea but I have a concern & it wouldn't surprise me if you already had a solution. I live in Kansas & there is always dirt in the air but it you don't have to live in KS for this to be an issue. You have been out hiking & it's time to change lenses. Well dust & debris has gathered on your lens catch you've just mounted your lens to it rotated it around to remove the replacement lens & in doing so dumped the debris into your lens. I know what you're thinking sometimes you have to have common sense but we have all got excited during an impeding spectacular photo! Okay I have! A cover for this lens catch seems like a very simple solution! Just a thought.
It actually comes with 2 caps in the box to address concerns like this, so you should be good.
pls make a m4/3 adapter for this!
Make a triangular one for three lenses? :)
I have three primes I swap out regularly, and having a third mounting option while switiching for another lens would be pure gold
Ughh this is genius.
Holy crap I need this
Cool :-) MFT version please.....
Please, make a CaptureLENS version for Fuji X mount lenses.
Does this work to clip on Holdfast camera harness?
any advice for using capture and captureLENS with a f-stop sukha backpack?
Do this for Fuji PLEASE!!!!
hope we will have for M43 soon
+SaGieS Chills It is something we are considering :)
+Peak Design Video your everyday messenger bag fits alot of lenses for the m43 system so having the capture lens for m43 would be really nice to have.
+Peak Design Video Coming Soon please
micro four thirds PLEASE
Cool concept - but what's going on at 0:40? The upper and lower edges are really wobbly for some reason =P
that studio shot was probably made on a spinning base. a top-heavy object like that would certainly wobble a bit in a moving base with centrifugal forces!
What level backer do I need to become for this to work with Pentax?
almost 2 years and no MFT still. hard to imagine it would be difficult to produce and then sell.
How to prevent dust from getting into the sensor though since you have one side open collecting stuff all the time?
For me, I will probably carry two lenses at all times then one in camera and with a Slide Lite to hold my camera while I swap the lenses that way one open side is not always there to collect dust and other junk.
Any other suggestion?
+shaolin95 Each CaptureLENS or LENS kit comes with 2 caps to keep them dust free when a lens is not attached
+Peak Design Video cool. I think this is an interesting option for sure. you guys always come up with clever stuff!
Pleaaaaaaase don't ignore the massively growing number of MFT users! I would buy it in a heartbeat if only I could use it.
+Dom Ule Nothing in the works yet, but something we are considering!
Get out of here! Simply brilliant.
When will you have the Pentax mount available?
+Derek Fujinami Nothing in the works yet, but something we are considering
SUCH a cool idea! Sadly it won't work with my Samsung lenses.
When u guys create for Fujifilm X Mount?
Thank you for getting in touch, we have noted good levels of interest in the Lens Clip from the Fuji X-Mount community and it is certainly something that is under consideration.
However, our Hardware Engineers are currently busy developing other projects.
Your interest has been noted.
Have a great day!
Adam
any updates on providing this for the four thirds market. just visited rome and this would have been ideal when swapping my primes...
+charliefarley74 Something we are considering, but nothing in the works yet
Please make this is in Sony A-mount! (aka Minolta AF)
Great idea ! I love all your products , hope you're thinking a model for MFT users, Please...
+Bertrand Rosier Nothing in the works yet, but something we are considering
make it with Fuji lenses x mount
I have bitten on almost all of your kickstarter stuff the Capture Lens and Lens Kit is the most exciting yet but only the Sony E mount? I use the A-Mount. maybe I could get 2 LEA3 adapters to make it work for only $398.
+Edward Sargent Update Amazon is selling A to E Fotodiox adapters for $21.
Fuji x mount please
Good day Peak Design! Are you going to release a Version 2 of this product?
No plans to update the Capture Lens at this point, although with Capture V3, you can buy the Clip only and add the Lens Kit solo too.
Peak Design Video That's great, im interested, but im kinda hesistant if it can hold securely the weight of my 70-200 + 24-70 which will weight about almost 3 kilos, knowing that it is made of Plastic.
Can I attach a peak design leash for added security?
+Sarang Patel You can attach a leash to the Lens Kit adapter, but not to the lens itself unless it has a tripod collar
Sony A- mount please
I WANT IT
Yet another brilliant idea....sadly only catering to Sony/Canikons :S Good luck nevertheless, hoping you'll consider other camera manufacturers in the future. Seems almost a bit awkward not to consider Pentax and Fuji.
+Magdalena Weinheimer Nothing in the works yet, but something we are considering
Any chance of a m4/3 mount? please!
+Costas Macris Something we are considering, but nothing in the works yet
Any chance of a Sony A mount?
+Barry Norton Nothing in the works yet, but something we are considering
Looks cool, I notice he didn't have a lens cap on those lens though. Might want to cover that glass.
looking for Capture Lens - Sony A-Mount
Something we are considering, but nothing in the works as of yet
Peak Design Video, please keep us update, i'll be your first customer if you're going to make Capture Lens A-Mount. I was so hoping to get it together with the Everyday Bag during the add-on accessories.
more and more ppl are waiting for fujifilm x-mounts as well..
No Pentax mounting option? All the cool kids shoot Pentax.
+Jason ON ....sure...and film....
Really cool kids shoot film.
Oh yeah
Any time frame for sony a mount ?
+Michael Mitnik Nothing in the works yet, but something we are considering
Works this with Sony E and Canon EF Mount ?
It sure does! (Will need to get a separate unit for each mount type though)
Just take all my money!!
Would be cool to have a system to store the lens cap... not everyone walks around with the glass exposed.
+Jordan Hamelin Something we have considered, but nothing in the works
must be perfect for wedding. cool idea. maybe make four one day? hihi
+Juan „CriticalThinker“ Dela Cruz when u really ned to sitch fast it might be better having two separat cameras, so u dont miss that one moment
i know that. but still it helps. thank you though.
MFT mount plz 😋
Hi peak design guys, is it normal that there is a small gap and it fits not so super tight on my Sony E-Mount lenses? thx
+Marc Hörrmann Once you attach that lens to our kit you will hear a "click". As long as you hear this, know your lens is secure. Camera lens mounts have a spring that absorbs that "jiggle" which is why it doesn't jiggle on your camera.
+Peak Design Video thx
That is fucking awesome!
I use micro four thirds lenses
+Cherrard Cohen Nothing in the works yet, but something we are considering
Please help me. I just got mine and it’s not swiveling 😩
Hi there Brandon, please be sure to pull the unit away from your hip prior to rotating, the Lens Kit locks at each 90 degrees of rotation.
I SHOULD GET ONE FORF REE SINCE I HAVETHEFIRSTCOMMENT
HELP!!!!
I love my CaptureLENS, unfortunately, I lost my CaptureLENS a cover, where can I get a replacement? I'm from Mexico.
Oh no! Please email us at info@peakdesign.com
¡Gracias!
genius
M43 Please!
+Boxthor Nothing in the works yet, but something we are considering!
I like it, but leaving the camera open for so long without a lens on would worry me, so no go :P
how can I add one to my pledge? AddOn? How much?
+Taro Paredes see details in the latest update
MFT mount will sell it to me.
+Shevek65 Nothing in the works yet, but something we are considering!
Donde se puede comprar este soporte para ópticas de Nikon, que contacten conmigo
+Valentin Vila You can purchase all through our website
how can I order this in India
You can purchase on our website: peakdesign.com
i want one for nikon NOW! :D
+Roberto Fabikann We got um!
I literally screamed at 0:19
Ok. Take my money. Again.
Looks like it would collect a heap of dust that would go straight into the rear of your lens when you switch.
+Jon May Comes with 2 caps to keep them clean when not in use
+Peak Design Video Only 6 months for a response!
+Jon May Sorry! We had a bit of a CZcams Comments backlog :/
No M43 mounts. Bollocks!!!
haha! my initial reaction, though I wouldn't of typed it ;-)
Wow that's amazing, I get paid next week shoot me a email and I'm all in.
Why isn't the A-Mount available as an option?
From what I know, all you need to do is to make the outer metal ring compatible with A-mount, it shouldn't be that complicate.
Why don't you just sell the main body and the metal mounting ring separate so we can buy the metal ring that's compatible with our mount and we can screw it in after purchase?
I'm sure some of us are using more than one system, it will be great it this idea be consider by the team.
The group that I'm currently in have nearly ~200 A-mount photographer, so consider it as a lost of 200 potential buyers. We'll now refuse to buy anything from Peak Design, until A-mount is supported.
Great products and ideas, it's a shame when you don't make it compatible for everyone. I don't thing the metal mounting ring is that hard to make/design.
Hey John,
We did numerous surveys of our customers and these 3 mount types were by far and away the most popular. While "build your own" would be a great idea, in order to make sure these are constructed properly and hold your lenses securely, it is best that these be built within our factories under our strict QC assembly standards.
Best,
Jen
Peak Design Video with the recent come back of A99 mark ii, you should consider making A-mount clip
John Vo they are a business and they want to make money. Sony A-Mouny is dead. they are going to pour resources into a dead system that is not profitable. 200 buyers? that's nothing. also why would they make it have interchangeable mounts when they can jusy force you to buy more from them? I hope you never become a business man. just stick to taking Facebook pictures. also Go whine more, you self entitled whinig brat.
eh, lens caps, who needs em
No thanks.... Might be ok with smaller lenses, but, hanging a 70-200mm f2.8 of that would cause strain on the lens mount...
+Peter G The bayonet is the same as the mount on your camera, so if your camera can hold it, so can the Lens Kit :)
I would never hang my Nikon 70-200mm f2.8 like that. I carry the lens with the body attached. Always carry the heaviest item, so you don't put any strain on the mount etc.
+Peter G Having the lens attached and hanging from our LENS clip is the same as when your lens is attached to the camera body. Exact same attachement mechanism and strain being put on the mount in both scenarios
+Peak Design Video Depends on what size lens you are using.
Uucccchh, you sons of bitches. How much more of my money do you guys need! Just take it, take it all!!!!
I literally screamed at 0:19
