Thanks for the reaction to Diana. Just to clarify, this arrangement of the song was not made specifically for Diana, she used US composer/producer Tommee Proffitt's "dark arrangement" which he released about four years ago. Diana's performance is from two years ago when she was 18 years old (now 20). Incidentally the chap, with the beard, who stood up during the vocalisation part is Yusif Eyvazov, an operatic tenor, who is married to uber soprano Anna Netrebko - he probably knows a good thing when he hears it! Yusif was a one time guest on the show, the others in the stand were the other singers on the show.
I saw that your next reaction will be "Baikal" - this is from the soundtrack to a film called "Spirit of Baikal" which will be released in Russian cinemas on 19th October 2023. To paraphrase Monty Python, "and now for something completely different..."

Gracias por tu comentario. Se comenta mucho sobre efectos aplicados desde la cabina de control de audio. Sin embargo, quien ha estado cerca de ella mientras canta han testificado una y otra vez a los largo de sus 14 años de actividad musical (inició a los 6 años) qué su voz no requiere efectos de master sound. Si deseas ver su voz a capella en tonos altos escucha una pieza en alemán qué realizó hace 2 años. Sus ejecución son magistrales a falta de un concepto mejor para describirlo. Alguna vez le dije a un amigo entrañable, puedes segmentar el arte, incluso puedes rechazarlo pero no puedes hacer qué el resto de la humanidad no desee segmentarlo ni mucho menos rechazarlo. Espero que como muchos te adentres en las canciones de Didi y dejes un poco de lado la escuadra, los lápices y la calculadora y simplemente disfrutes el viaje. Vale la pena en esta ocasión.

She is unique
Its important to note at age three she had a broken collarbone and likly other associated injury to the area. It would be reasonable that protective remodeling occured and may have affected her pharynx and in turn her larnyx creating this low end polyphonic sound. She has some modulation in speaking voice with words ending in en, end, ing where most of the word hangs in the back and is a bit mumbly.

Diana is actually polyphonic and can indeed sing two notes simultaneously. I've heard her do this on live unprocessed performances many times. The melody also wasn't modified it was simply changed to a minor key.

After having listened to more of her early performances (Rechenka, Wicked Game, Ornery Horses), several other reactors have pointed out that Diana has "a huge mouth", or "big jaws", which provides for an unusually big space for resonance in the back of her head. She has rare prerequisites in terms of anatomy.

@@AlokitaVerma unfortunately, I don't remember the channels, and it's impossible to find them among thousands of reactors. But you can repeat his experience yourself. Take a recording of Diana, where she sings in a double voice, and use the sound editor to slow down the sound as much as possible.

Yes 👍🏽 Diana is polyphonic and a dramatic contralto. There’s only one singer and it’s just Diana. If you seen the judges and there comments they were shocked. Since the judges/singers were competitors they did not allow any effects in her first song in this Competition Show “The Show Mask Go On”….it was the first time she was invited to compete with other Amazing performers. She was a winner 🏆 from another Competition Show primarily for disadvantaged children. This Competition Show showed all the artists perform weekly but sadly they are blocked. I loved watching them perform “Live”. I’ve been a fan for five years or more and I have heard so many coaches say there’s an effect…she presses her tongue down her throat…this is not real…😳🤣🤔. Diana has full control of her vocals and her range has greatly improved now.Well, the Truth is there’s no other female in the World like Diana. Вы глухие все что ли? Глиссандо с эффектом спето, беки добавлены. Зачем говорить, что вообще нет эффектов, когда они явно есть, когда она поднимается выше, как можно этого не слышать. Это нормально, это не опера, где зал построен как акустическая камера, там и без эффектов и без микрофона можно петь. Здесь эффекты это нормально.

Yes, Diana has unique resonances (This is not polyphony!). This is not the result of training. As a very young child she had these. She can turn it on and off at will. She also has a tremendous variety of colors of voice that she uses. This makes her different performances be always interesting. She might perform a song completely in the range of a contralto, or as a soprano. She might use a rich, resonant voice, or pure tones. She also has a mastery of dynamics. One moment she might belt out the full, rich depth of her voice, then instantly shift to a light, soft, airy high pitch. Her vocal skills are unlimited.
After heaping all of this praise upon Diana, for her skills, this is not why I listen to Diana. I don't listen because of her vocal skills. I listen because she is unsurpassed at delivering emotions. She is the best at making this jaded, old man feel the meanings of the songs.

Third, she is polyphonic, which means she can produce multiple harmonics within her voice at the same time. This is what allows her to sound like two people at once. And the effect when you hear her is totally mind-blowing. It's like she's singing right through you, like a sword straight into your soul. Literally NOBODY else on the planet has a voice like hers. She's not one in a million, she's one in eight billion. Having watched well over 100 initial reactions to her, only one did NOT say she was "unique".

that they also added to the encore performance, I’m pretty it’s just a lot of extra reverb because anything besides that would probably not be allowed in competition. If you listen to her sing this song in other settings, that section sounds much more natural
Also there was a choir singing in the background at 1:52, we know this by analyzing a spectrogram. And Diana directly confirmed that there were backup singers used in the show anyway so it shouldn’t be a huge secret. The simple fact is that Diana is not polyphonic- she naturally possesses unique overtones in her voice but she has never been able to produce multiple pitches at once as was demonstrated in the video

I am writing this BEFORE watching your reaction and only to address "two notes at the same time" in the title: Some Diana fans exaggerate her level of polyphonic singing. Diana definitely has some overtones/undertones which most of the singers can't produce but if you are saying that "I'm hearing two notes at the same time" you should know that it's most probably there is a pre-recorded singing of Diana as a backing track ; which is still pretty awesome because: 1) Diana is her own back-vocalist because of her great vocal range 2) She can sync with that backing track perfectly while singing live.

Si vous preniez un peu plus le temps de mettre dans le contexte avant de sortir des théories de mixage audio ou décalage de pitch, ca vous éviterais de vous tirer une balle dans le pied.
C'est un concours, toute modification de voix ou backtracking est interdit.
Elle chante avec le même micro et le même réglage que les autres participant.
Donc oui, c'est bien 2 voir 3 layer de voix qu'on entend. Par la résonnance elle arrive à amplifier certain harmonique et encore, là je théorise car je n'en sait rien. Juste des restes de cours ingé sur le traitement de signal.
Et non, rien à voir non plus avec l'extrait de polyphonie que vous avez passé qui ce contente de jouer des notes (tout le monde peu le faire meme sans entrainement, je le fais). Là elle chante des mots, pas des notes. Nous sommes là dans une tout autre dimension.
Pour rappel elle avait 18ans.
