  • We took our Crosstrek off road to a beautiful camping spot next to a river in the mountains of British Columbia. This Subaru is a very capable off roader and you can even sleep in it!
    We keep being asked about the mattress... below is a link to the one we use. It fits the Crosstrek perfectly and is reasonably priced compared to a lot of other inflatable car mattresses. Very happy with it.

    It is awesome to find old lanterns, etc. but, please remember to always change the O-rings and seals. Looks awesome....love your Subaru adventures. Keep them coming.

    What's the make and size of your awning?

    Did you remove the back seats?

  • @CBCEDD
    @CBCEDD Před 3 lety +1

    Yeah, you might want to camp not so close the the river bank next time unless you want to be washed away with the car during a flash flood.

      I know exactly where they are. There's never going to be a flash flood, especially in the the summer.

    What do you put in the space between the back and front seats to keep your mattress propped up??

    • @dualincomenokids4712
      @dualincomenokids4712  Před 3 lety

      we put a cooler on one side and Rubbermaid container on the other. You have to move the front seats up but it fills the gap and utilizes the space well

    that awning, did you get the 6x8? how do you like it ? im in Alberta, and im looking to buy the Subaru cross trek and get the awning like yourself. any pros/cons that you can let me know about for the vehicle / awning ? thanks

      I bought the smittybilt 6.5 x 6.5 for my 2019 cross trek. Talk to people about how to install the awnings, the Subaru crossbars makes it a lot harder than it should be. If I knew what I do now I would have bought a flat crossbar set probably something that had tracks in it for bolts. That looks like a 6 x 8. Mine comes out square for obvious reasons.

    Ah yes. Splitting wood with open toed shoes. Safety 10/10 lol. Al seriousness though good video, deserves more views and likes. But please don’t split wood in flip flops.. not safe

    You know SPAM stands for Scientifically Produced Animal Matter, right? I'm from Austin, MN where it was invented. I've seen it the production line. I'll never eat that stuff again.
    Other than the SPAM moment, I liked the video. And thank you for keeping some locations secret.

    "secret" spot you dont want to disclose location to, yet lots of others camping there. Go figure.

    • @MC-cv8sv
      @MC-cv8sv Před 3 lety +2

      It’s because releasing locations of sites like this all over social media brings all kinds of crowds. If you look at Lake Louise or Moraine Lake in Alberta for example 5-10 years ago it was a lot of local traffic with some tourists but it wasn’t overwhelmingly busy. Ever since it has been posted all over social media by everyone and even companies too, the area is barely visitable because it’s so over packed with people. The environment can’t sustain that many people and has been littered with garbage. They’re just trying to preserve the space :)

  • @Cheex79
    @Cheex79 Před 3 lety +2

    Cant disclose the place? Pretty selfish statement. thumbz down.

    • @user-bt3bn3tb7p
      @user-bt3bn3tb7p Před 3 lety +5

      With the rise of social media and people posting all these locations, you get the fools who come in and trash the places. I’ve seen it myself with my favorite places in the past 6 or so years (and I’ve been going to them for many more years than that). So if being selfish means keeping it pristine and not inundated with people, I’m all for it.

      The idea of exploring is exploring to find your own spot.
