fun fact part of the reason we train military via repetition is you tend to have lower motor function in high stress situations. Its why especially those unfamiliar with the adrenaline dump get clumsier when they try to do things. Finger tips are especially prone to this.
A few years ago, it was reported in the local news that the widow of a World War 2 veteran brought into the police department of a nearby city a box with grenades and mortar rounds, and another box with military firearms and ammo. After a quick inspection, the police cleared the station and called for a bomb squad to take them away. It turned out the explosives were live. Sadly, however, the vintage military rifles and pistols were eventually chopped up and scrapped. The lady didn't face any charges.
