@bodgeer I think the 50/50 system isn't that bad because the public decides, which song is the most popular and the jury (who are actually experts) decides which one is from a musical perspective the biggest achievement. i think in a competition like ESC both things are evenly important and thats why they count it 50/50. without the Jury, the musical aspect looses it's value because the public will almost everytime tend to vote a simpler song that is easyier to learn or to sing along than a musical masterpiece.

The EBU evolved from „let’s test our equipment with an international concert“ in 1955 (the first one was a radio show) to „we‘re holding all the national broadcasters by their necks and you can’t do anything about it“ in 2024.
The EBU couldn’t care less about what viewers want or think. Take for example the Dutch situation: a camera woman harassed a contestant and he got disqualified. These blatant actions in front of millions would even make Stalin blush. The EBU is „too big to fail“ as long as the „big five“ finance it. The only thing that could reform the EBU would be for Germany, France, Italy, Spain and the UK to say „we‘re not paying for this circus“. After all, their national broadcasters cover 75 per cent of all costs.

Through the application, I could vote a maximum of 5 times, then I managed to vote 4 times via SMS, and all other votes were rejected. I also tried to vote by call, but they did not accept calls. To make matters worse, I tried to vote through another number, that of a family member, but the situation was the same. And while the organizer claims that it is possible to vote 20 times, I only managed to vote 9 times from one number and 9 from another. Eurovision is fixed!

For years, I am calling out for a new voting System. No more 50:50, only 1/3 jury votes and 2/3 televotes

it's time to throw the jury out of Eurovision. Almost all of them - Switzerland, Switzerland..... 🥵😳The end result is so high that people's votes are useless to change anything .

This is maybe the first time I'm actually glad jury exists :D

Bro please Switzerland only needed 160 something to beat Croatia and if the public didn’t want him to win they wouldn’t have given them 200+. I’d say I was sad that Croatia didn’t get more from the public.

WTF did you expect when musicians vote? they'll vote the best musician and prevent a 1 note rock song from winning. I get that the croatian song was popular and this is for a reason. but it's based on a free sample from the internet and is absolutely no great achievement from a musician perspective

Partly i agree. It's kind of old fashion but also exciting to see. And to be honest, this year there was not a clear winner. Many artists with a similar result in public voting.

Thank you to all the countries who gave 12 points to France! Thanks to everyone who gave the 10 points! And thank you to everyone who gave fewer points but who contributed to this very nice 2nd place! (Special mention to Slovenia which I am even more proud to have supported after your 12 points) 💗💗

One of the few satisfying things out of this year's Eurovision. They better change *a lot* of things before next year's contest.

This is looking awfully familiar, as a Finnish person who watched last year's Eurovision. It's okay Croatia, I've been there too. 🫂 🇫🇮❤🇭🇷
But seriously, can the jury voting system change?! There's no point in televotes when the juries just give one specific country all of the 12 points, giving no other country the chance to win. When I saw the jury results, I knew Switzerland was gonna win, regardless of the televotes.

Yeah but what do you want them to do? You want all the juries to create a WhatsApp group and tell each other not to vote too much for the same country? It just so happened that Nemo’s voice and performance stood out the most, I mean they won’t vote for someone else just because “too many people are voting for Switzerland already”
