I'm hoping for a warm spring so I can get our strawberry plants transplanted.

You can start as soon as the ground thaws. I love dividing strawberry plants!

Wonder if it will matter in Orlando, Florida not to cover with leaves. Last year was our first winter with them and we did have to cover with fabric then plastic once. They were in a kiddie pool w poor drainage. This summer they were one yr old in 2023. So think they begin producing this spring. We got a few berries here and there. Some plants died but others gave me daughters. I have them in a planter 4’x4’x17” deep as nothing else was using that planter. I am very new to gardening with limited time but trying to learn as much as so can when I can. Thanks!
