The RTX 4070 (non-Super) is a great GPU imo. I have mine in a PS2 sized HTPC setup and it performs very well at 4K w/ DLSS Quality on my 4K TV on medium to high settings💪🤩!
I also got my GPU as an “open box” model a few weeks after launch for $490USD plus local taxes here in Australia 🇦🇺💪🤩🥳which makes its value even better for me. I got a compact Zotac o/c model which fits perfectly in my build😇🥰👍
Weird where you were getting stuttering in the lava with FG+DLAA at 1440p I'm not and I'm using a 4070 Ti 12gb and a 5800X3D and not having issues and getting 130FPS at that location no stuttering so it's not a VRAM issue maybe something to do with the 7950X3D you're using? I am only using 9.2gb of VRAM in that area too ironically I haven't seen this game use 10+gb of VRAM on my card.

For the same price so which one i should prefer GPU or CPU
I will be using for gaming and live streaming mainly and some lil bit mining (7700XT is 25% to 30% better than 6750XT)

My RTX 3080 is still okay (just barely) with 10GB @ 1440P. I rarely pay full price for a game, but this is one of the few games I put on my Wishlist waiting for release.
Unsure how you getting these numbers. running a 4070 with a 10700k and playing maxed settings at 1440p with fg on and dlaa and I avg 120-130 in open world, fleets end i dip below 100 in spots. but vram deffo stuters in fleets end i notice.

why have you disabled half of your cpu scores? any particular reason behind that?
I also had issues with the frame times when the game launched. I did a complete complete driver wipe with DDU and 1% lows improved by ~35% after a fresh driver install. Average framerates also went up by around 6-7%.
I have 2 pc’s older one has original 4070 and it’s still an amazing card. Got the 4080 super now and what a difference.
Because the price is also a difference. 🤡

Recently I downloaded Batman Arkham knight from firgirl and I played the game but every time I try to play: I cannot load saved game and I don't know why; if anyone could help me I would be very delighted. There is CPY custom save path but it doesn't work maybe I'm doing it wrong I don't know!

Excited to see this one, I've a non super 4070 as well, thanks a lot for these videos. Regarding 10:45 - there was a stutter, and VRAM dropped from like 10.4 to 10.1. How come this happens? Wouldn't running out of VRAM mean exceeding 12 gigs? What exactly happened there, assuming the game didn't unexpectedly use another 1.5 gigs in like a second
Not sure if it's true but I've seen a comment with a link to an article where the developers said the game would swap things to VRAM even without reaching the full VRAM of the card. Very weird and idk why they chose to do this, but it's exactly what I've been seeing time and time again 🤔
Maybe it has something to do with this game being a playstation exclusive for quite a long time. Consoles have a shared RAM/Vram system, and maybe the engine is built around that in a way that can't be avoided. I dont really know, though. That is just a guess.@zWORMzGaming

9:00 it's probably because the game enables Nvidia reflex by default when using frame generation
26:51 what you could is using DRS with dlss upscaling instead of the default one, you would have betterquality than dlss performance with a rock solid 60
165-180w 4K Max Settings DLSS Q and get 70+fps with FG is damn impressive efficient card. 3060ti can only dream. perfectly fine for controller user
and keyboard.
If you pay close attention to the VRAM utilization, every time it reaches 10.5gb, it immediately drops to 10.2 and the RAM utilization grows from asset swapping.
I don't know if this is a legacy problem from how the PS5 handles memory management (afaik the ps5 lets you assign 10.25gbs of its memory pool as VRAM) or if this is something Nixxes themselves implemented to stop the game from running out of VRAM, but this should be fixed. 12gb cards should not be running out of vram at just 1440p.

I am assuming burning shores isn't optimized at all for PCs. I mean 4070 dips below 60fps is outrageous to say the least, probably this needs some tweaking.
PS5 on other hand of course uses mix of medium-high settings though much stable and less juddery.
I have 4070 and have that weird frametime issue too, my gpu wont use 200w in this game even at 4k, most other games it gets to 200w.
yooo i have a ryzen 5 5500 and an rx 6600, an amazing midrange combo, but in fortnite performance mode, when i get in a fight a get 120-150 fps which is kinda bad, and i decided to upgrade to an r 7 5800x3d. i play only fortnite, and i want high fps like 240. is it a good upgrade or is it gonna be bottlenecked? If its a bad uprade, can you help me what cpu, or gpu should i buy? thank you man i love you
Get a better GPU first like a 7800XT. Then see how much of a CPU bottleneck you have and then you can upgrade to a X3D chip.

I think this is really good performance, you can play at 60+ fps on 1440p maximum native pretty much all of the time and even more with DLSS. In both cases the visuals will be stunning. Great performance, I have seen worse looking games perform terribly compared to this.

Disgusting FG in this game, not only is the ghosting around Aloy noticeable when the camera turns, not only does the vegetation become a little blurred, but also 140 FG frames go LESS smoothly than the original 90, if, for example, you run without moving the camera.
I wanted to see if I could push my 4070 more for HFW and from my default settings in MSI and everything you have maxed in 1440p I am getting 140fps avg... so wth? I was hoping to see past 140fps in this video, I guess I am just going to leave my GPU settings default if you are only getting 72fps.

id go for a rx 6700xt to be honest i have the 6650xt with the 5600x and it cant do above medium settings due to it only having 8gb of vram

If you want insane image quality you can run the game at 4k with dlss set to performance with dynamic resolution enabled this will give you a dynamic 4k with a low end of 1080p using dlss to upscale to 4k

Hello zWORMz I have been watching your videos for a while and I realised something. in this video: RX 570 | Minecraft Java - 1080p, 1440p, 4K - EP7 You state that your RX 570 is having lower clocks just like the rx 5700 xt. That is because AMD has a low power state on their gpu( they lower their clock to a lower level when not being used really hard). There is an option in MSI afterburner under the category "AMD", there you will find "Disable ultra low power state"( ULPS). Enable that, restart ur system and your AMD gpu should now be running at max clock even when being used only 6%( I said 6% as a example but works on all % ofc).
(Edit) A thing to point out about the AMD gpu's again is that they MUCH worse OpenGL performance compared to Nvidia, and minecraft lately has been using more and more OpenGL. Now someone made the vulkan mod( mod which switches the game engine from opengl/ java to purely vulkan) which improves AMD gpu performance a lot, but it doesnt have shaders support, yet...

A 4070 can't get constant 75fps at 1080p native and people say this game is great in terms of optimization.
Ps4 titles fanboys saying that for sure, I think it has horrible optimization and porting than dawn, it has bad performance + non RT *facepalm*. I am sure nvidia optimized this game for super cards only than there normal version for bs marketing.

first time I find weird performance in your benchmark, my RTX 3070 Gigabyte OC runs more or less the same in 1440p dlaa, what the heck ? driver default for the 4070 ?
It's the area where you're testing, in the next video testing the 1660Ti, I'll show 3 or 4 different areas and there is a 30 FPS difference from the most demanding one (burning shores) to the least demanding one.
Comparing to the 6900XT which is around 20% faster than this, in the same area I got about 10-15 more FPS, which checks out, it's about 20% more performance

When he enabled FG the frame rate went from 95fps to 110fps, I thought FG was supposed to give a much bigger boost to fps than that?
It depends on the game, some games benefit more from it, this is one of the weaker ones in that regard
I paired this gpu on 500w power supply and still yet no problem works just find and solid all the system
I’m using a Ryzen 5800X3D w/ RTX 4070 o/c model from Zotac on a 400w psu in my HTPC setup and the system draws barely over 300w under a full load ….. it’s a very efficient GPU indeed …. Plus the cpu as well 😉💪👍. I game at 4K (DLSS Quality) which puts a bit more load on the GPU and ultimately the psu …. But at just over 300w I’m good to go 🤤🥰
I don't have amd cpu but I think are very good in power consumption overall my 4070 in oc version gygabite aero white with i5 10400f . But I don't use as I play in 4k 7900xtx with 13700k wich is really power hungry, I have rog thor platinium 1200w with indicator of power consumption and all system is about 580w to 750w all time

Buying a 4070 now with the 4070S makes no sense, but I bought the vanilla 4070 about 10 days after its release, and it still is a pretty strong card, with a couple percentage faster than a 3080, more vram, better rt and FG, and undervolting it, it also has a really low power usage. So, not bad by any means

With my rtx 4060 I get around 100 fps. I think you should test it again and switch on exclusive full screen
Running this on a RTX4070 with reduced voltage, 1440p maxed out with DLSS, no FG, no reflex runs absolutely perfectly (80-100fps, flawless frametimes) while consuming no more than 120-130W. This is ridiculous given the achieved graphics quality... I am amazed by AD104.

And strangely, my 4070Ti super through FG raises fps not by 20 as here, but by 60, from 90 to 150.
Perhaps they updated the game? I have 4080, but I didn't notice any significant difference than when I last time played around this game.
Please use the same scene/areas for your future GPU testing. I notice you were using vanilla version when testing RTX 4080/RX 6700 XT and using DLC for 6900XT/4070, DLC areas is more taxing in general and will yield lower fps compared to the base game, this will skew the result and give the wrong impresssion to the uninformed folks
Great GPU, but with the goal of getting 1440p, the 12gb vram could really get a problem in 2 or 3 years. Or even today...

4070 ultra + Dlaa is Perfect.
Depends on your monitor... in some areas I dropped below 60FPS which causes some STUTTER. When I dropped to DLSS "Quality" instead at 1440p it could maintain 60FPS. If I'd had a GSYNC monitor it would have been a non-issue (though I'd still have capped the FPS). I did try "Dynamic" DLSS but it didn't work well with VSYNC and dropped below 60FPS.
