I have been asked what I thought of this video. I dropped the dismantled tool and did not have complete dis-assembly. The video reassured my re-assembly. thanks, again !

Never bought a new 231 but I've bought 3 used ones that Rocked ! 1 Broke internally & 1 the trigger spring broke on . but in their defense the 1st two I ran with 200 psi on occasion The other is still rocking on . 1 st two lasted over 30 years . that's right 30 ! & I've abused all 3 of them .

Most of the time the rotor and the end plate won't go in that easily. I put the cylinder in with it at the same time, that keeps it straight in the bore.

What dose it mean when you can spin the adjuster around and around, and still makes the clicking noise? It seems like it is stuck on low power.

Eugenio, thank you for reaching out.
We don't have a 2850MAX-6 video at this time, but we do have a video for a newly launched 2955 1" impact wrench that would be similar to the 2850MAX6 as a replacement service video. You can find this video on our IR Tool Help site at: irtoolhelp.ingersollrand.com/hc/en-us/articles/5875055585299--Video-2955-Series-Impact-Wrench-Service-Disassembly. A reassembly video of this tool will be on the IR Tool Help site soon. Hope you find this useful!

Thank you very much for this video for the 231C. At 1:27, "Throttle Valve Spring" it is written on the video to "Lubricate O Ring with appropriate Lube before installing." What would be the appropriate lube for that? Would that be Ingersoll Rand Air Tool Oil?
I can NOT find a video like this for the Ingersoll Rand 1077XPA 1/2" Ratchet Wrench. Is there one? If not, could you please make one?
Could you also please direct me to the video that tells how to adjust the torque output from an Ingersoll Rand 1077XPA 1/2" Ratchet Wrench? The documentation that came with to tool and that was online was not good for the tool. I can NOT find how to adjust its torque output. It says that an Ingersoll Rand 1077XPA 1/2" Ratchet Wrench can be varied between 10 ft-lbs and 45 ft-lbs but that it can be set to achieve a max torque of 54 ft-lbs.
Could you please make a video that explains how to correctly use and maintain an Ingersoll Rand 1077XPA 1/2" Ratchet Wrench? I could not find anything like it at the Ingersoll Rand CZcams channel. czcams.com/channels/XDr6y9UsMNhQR0XPQ1oZIw.html
I really appreciate the information in this video.
    Thank you.

Thank you for the feedback! Yes, use IR #10 oil for lubricating the o-ring on the throttle valve assembly. No, we do not have a video for the 1077XPA but we will take your note into consideration! As for torque, the 1077XPA ratchet cannot be adjusted to a set value. Regulation is controlled only with the throttle lever. For maintenance, please reference the Product Info Manual that should have come with the tool. For more info, please see ingersollrandproducts.com

I used czcams.com/users/postUgkx4ynqaujg7rZKFapA8s29kTpRszJGa3-K this for the first time today to replace the front wheel bearing on my rwd 98 dodge dakota. This had absolutely no issue removing or reinstalling the lug nuts and it took off the axle nut without any struggle. Sounds like it's got some muscle to it. Time will tell

Sorry to hear about the rotor shaft fault. Usually happens when static pressure is set too high at the regulator. The tool is designed to run optimally at 90 PSI dynamic pressure. There’s further clarification available at irtoolhelp.ingersollrand.com. Call/chat or submit a request if you have any questions or concerns during the rebuild. Thank you.

When you inserted the new vanes they had a cut out on the inside at one end. You did not orientate them all the same way. If it does not matter, why is there a cut out? If it does matter, why were they not all put in the same?

fred flintstone, Good Eye there Fred !!
They just dropped them in there like
      Bam ! Bam !
If they do serve a purpose and they're not properly inserted, this gun could come apart and it could be as useless as something from the Stone Age.
On a more serious note, I would still like to know the answer from I.R.

Pretty sure they are inserted the way they show the first and third ones inserted. If you look at the slots in the rotor, the slots go up at the rear of the rotor at the same angle as the angle of the vanes if you install them this way. Hopefully that makes sense, hard to describe without an example to point at.

I am wondering when my favorite power tool manufacturer will start innovating again and stop stagnating. Come on man! The IQ series of 20 V and 12 V tools has been out since 2011 and 2013 respectively and in all that time there are only three brushless tools!
