    Yet again you’ve come to my Polo rescue. I got the fuel cap done like you said, and yesterday the battery just died so I had to go and get and fit a new one, and when I saw that you’d done a video on this subject I knew that you’d help me get the job done properly!
    Time I subscribed (done) and watched the rest of your videos - just in case! 😉

      I didn't know recoding the battery was a thing on start stop systems tbh so I can't give you a yes or a no unfortunately. Sorry

    Just curious, i removed the battery and in the tray i found some water in the drainage hole, looks like it has accumulated over a long period, could the water have an effect on the wires under the tray? And also, what is that thick red cable on the fuse link panel for? (The one between the alaternator and the blue cable?) Mine had overheated but i dont know what could be affected

    • @RCS_716
      @RCS_716  Před 11 měsíci

      Most of the wires in the engine bay are weather/water proof so I wouldn't worry too much about the cables getting wet. ( if possible cleaning out the drainage hole would be good incase it's blocked etc )
      The thick big red wire is the main positive power source, all the other cables connected to it get their power from that cable as its the main one connected to the battery. And that thick red cable would also connect to your alternator so that it can charge the battery.
      I'm by no means a professional so don't just take my word for it but I guess it's something you can use along with other information 😁
      Hope this helped

      @RCS_ I'll have to have the red cable fixed (not the main positive cable, but rather the one above the battery on the fuse link panel) cz my car is having multiple electrical errors affecting the TCM, ECM,BCM sensors, instrument cluster etc and the codes it is throwing are all pointing out to wiring issues, low voltage supply issues and Google is recommending that I check the wiring, connectors etc replaced the battery but the problems are still there

      Do you have a vw polo aswell or a different car? Because I feel like I'm talking about the wrong cable.
      When you scan the car does it tell you what sort of circuit the error is happening in or is it just a general electrical code cause some of these car scanners are good and can narrow down where the issuse is coming from. those ones normally cost an arm and a leg though :(

      Sometimes the alternator can cause some problems if it's bad etc. Worth looking into that aswell just incase

      @@RCS_716 it's a Polo 1.4 6R 2010, the errors are lost communication with tcm, function limitation due to missing message, lost communication with ecm, with ABS module, electrical error in wheel speed sensors, electrical error in oxygen sensors, vehicle speed sensor, database drivetrain faulty

    How do you get the big plastic cover off?😊

    • @RCS_716
      @RCS_716  Před 8 měsíci

      You have to pull it up, use a bit of force because it is clipped down.
      I'll make a short video on it tomorrow if that helps 😁

    • @RCS_716
      @RCS_716  Před 8 měsíci +2

      I saw "big plastic cover" and thought you were talking about the engine cover in my previous comment.
      I've just realised that you were probably asking about the plastic cover over the battery, ( correct me if I'm wrong )
      To Take that off you have to:
      loosen the 10mm screw on the positive terminal of the battery,
      then you have to pull the back and the front of the big plastic cover away from the battery while you pull up and wiggle it around a bit and then it should come off
      That long looking bit of it at 3:43 is what your mainly trying to pull away from the battery as you pull up
