Arno made the most dumb decisions all for a girl. Jacob also is pretty dumb and has many preventable mistakes. He was always too reckless. Edward is probably one of the smartest. He is the epitome of fake it till you make it. He casually pretended to be a high level assassin for potential treasure then actually became a real high level assassin because why not. Ezio is someone who will admit he has done many dumb things, but he is truly the most wisest assassin and has the most creed experience. His development from a reckless kid turned legendary assassin proves he has much wisdom.

If we are talking of Assassins when they were in their prime then I think Altaïr is the smartest. Some already said that arrogance and recklessness shouldn’t be confused with dumbness and I agree to a point. Altaïr is already one of the youngest to become a mentor and leader. He became a Master Assassin at a very young age which just made him very arrogant and made him reckless. But as he humbles and becomes wiser though the first game he betters himself. Also he learned a lot from the Apple. Let’s not forget that he wrote the codex that had a big influence on Ezio’s progress to become an Assassin.

Jacob comes across like Ezio was when you start AC2. Full of passion but lacking in how to properly channel it. Ezio was picking fights with the Pazzi boys and it takes a short while in game time and years in story for him to learn to temper his impulsive nature. Syndicate takes place over a far shorter timeframe and it’s the bulk of Jacob content in the whole franchise, so we’re not going to see the full development Ezio got in AC2 for Jacob.

@@chrismoore5333 Jacob has a child, most likely a son as his granddaughter has the surname Frye. This could be an angle for the meeting, as Kassandra had to give up her own child for his safety, but here is someone raising their child in a dangerous field and essentially indoctrinating them. What Kassandra could say on that would be interesting commentary on the ways of the Brotherhood as we know through Desmond it’s not a fun way to grow up. Plus, if Jacob is on better terms with his sexuality it’s something Kassandra wouldn’t blink an eye at as Odyssey only determines the gender of a love interest by the character gender in the Legacy of the First Blade DLC (where the story requires there has to be a female and a male to conceive a son). If the timeframe is around the 1890’s, that opens up Arthur Conan Doyle (author of the Sherlock Holmes stories), Oscar Wilde (a Piece of Eden like the Shroud influencing The Picture of Dorian Grey, and both the Fryes and Kassandra know what the Shroud does) etc as guest characters. Jacob and/or Kassandra could inspire The Empty House, the story that explained how Holmes survived the Reichenbach Falls and reunited with Watson to resume business as usual. There’s actually some pretty interesting parallels between that story and Kassandra’s.

Exactly. I see a lot of people who call Jacob the weakest assassin in the series, but, if you look past his goofy nature, he's one of the deadliest. He almost singlehandedly wiped out one of the strongest Templar Orders in the series - Starrick's Order was powerful enough to topple the British monarchy and he ran essentially the whole of London, during a time period when Britain was the strongest nation on Earth. I know Jacob obviously had Evie with him, but she was focused entirely on finding the Shroud of Eden with Henry. With the exception of Lady Thorne, Jacob was the one who killed Starrick's henchmen and freed London from the control of the Blighters. The guy was the definition of a one-man army.

Edward: Manipulated two secret orders for his own gain. His greed gave him tunnel vision for most of the game, but his plans to get riches were well thought out and tactical
Arno: Definitely driven by emotion, which made him impulsive, but not necessarily dumb. Similar to Edward, his plans were well planned out. When his plans went south, it was either because he let his emotions get the better of him, or because there was information he didn’t know about. Not knowing particular details made him more so unprepared rather than dumb

Syndicate does take place over a short period of time, the shortest timeframe for a main series entry, and we’re seeing him when he’s in his early 20’s. The other games take place over a number of years so the protagonists have more time to develop as characters. Where really mostly Connor had the most similar circumstances but it was during the revolutionary war where there was already two sides and people still figuring out their roles where the system already wasn’t completely defined in a period of adjustment. Where it’s also so odd that Jacob killing one person could take out a whole system like again with the doctor as if there wasn’t a doctor even close as trained or any other doctors just getting into their careers looking for jobs that it also doesn’t really make too much sense that only the Assassin’s can fix everything makes the British system in Victorian London look so weak.

Jacob and Evie are some of my favorite assassins. The backdrop of Victorian England is some of the best window dressing, but they deserved a better game with more character development and missions together and fewer chores (i.e. collectibles overload). We didn't get enough of them working together and showing why they work better together than apart. However, their fight doesn't make a ton of sense either. Wouldn't it just make sense to divide and conquer while providing support to each other's missions along the way? Evie is clearly the more scholarly of the two. So her focusing on the Pieces of Eden makes sense. Jacob is charismatic and charming. So it makes sense for him to rally the poor and working-class to rise up against their oppressors. They touch on the plights of the poor and the brutality of British industry and colonialism, but not enough. You can't do that and still have Victoria as an ally at the end. Having the characters of Henry Green and Duleep Singh are moves in the right direction but I wished we'd seen them more. Also, a move in the right direction towards bisexuality with Jacob and interracial romance with Henry and Evie, but again, not (nearly) far enough. I think these characters are worth seeing again, but not where we make an actual serial killer who actually and brutally killed poor and vulnerable women, a playable character.

I think Jacob isn’t likely to win a lot in this series besides categories like these, but I think there’s one category that Jacob could understandably get a lot of credit that speaks more to his capability then being something negative. Like who would be the most dangerous Assassin if they switched sides. I think Jacob has a strong claim to that since he like Evie is close to to the head of Police, but where he leads in certain area he is a bit more connected to the gang I’d say reasonably since it was his idea in the first place that Evie was originally against that it that I’d contribute most of the gangs accomplishments to him where he switched sides he’d have likely the stronger control over the gang who have a strong presence across the city at this point, and he also created a lot of the connections to the prostitutes when Evie was away that I just think Jacob could rule the underground pretty easily if he switched sides along with being a trained Assassin I think he could be one of the biggest villains if he switched sides which I think speaks to a certain level of his capability and just being dangerous. I think Ezio would have a strong chance in this category with his similar ability at building powerful Connections along with being even more skilled. Or I think Altaïr already has somewhat a strong backing as well because he already lead a group of Assassins against a different group to bring the order more in balance that he has reasonable claim that a lot of trained Assassins would potentially follow him. I mean Jacob I do think though would have the strongest claim and even when it comes to training new recruits to help him he seems to produce the most dangerous compared to his sister where he was much closer to Jack and we saw how his descendant turned out which Jacob seems like he’d have an impact on what likely gets passed down to them since he stayed in London and was the Master there I think maybe not as strong as a point but definitely still has a lot of Influence on how London Assassin’s throughout the next generation would come out especially his descendant because I’m assuming as Master he also trained his kid who would’ve trained their kid. Where yeah I think Connor also had a claim with his trainees of making powerful allies same with Ezio, and Altaïr, but I think where Jacob leads that is really he seems to have the stronger connections to the underground that he would already have a super strong start as soon as he switched sides because he basically built the Underground gangs and prostitution systems to what they were in Syndicate that he brings a lot with him as soon as he defects to the other side if he ever did.

@@fantasyeve87 yeah and I think there’s plenty of categories where they can all shine. Like Arno I think it’d be nice of like who’s a better detective finding information since he went around Paris solving crimes and how he figured out clues to murders. Bayek would have some reason to for a runner up, Connor with his tracking would be up there, maybe Evie but a lot of clues were left specifically for her by her brother in the Ripper DLC where Jacob already knew and basically handed a lot of what she needed to know to her, and all Assassins did something in this category so it’s fair since they found their targets, but I think it’s a good one that I think Arno really excels at and it’s a skill all assassins need where it is another category which would really show off how capable Arno is. With Edward I think Master Assassin if they did a category like best thinking on the feet I think Edward can just adjust and formulate plans so fast to whatever is situation is that I think that’s a really good one I think Edward has a good chance at winning. Another video I’d really like to see that’s kind of like the investigation idea that really all the assassins have these skills is infiltration where the discussion can bring a lot of shine on how the various characters go about this essential skill that they’re all skilled at various degrees and some have different methods at others. Like Altaïr you see blend with monks to some times get past guards, Ezio uses various disguises music talent and prostitutes, Connor disguises didn’t work out as well with Haythem but we can still see him use like tree path ways to get across and how he got his recruits to pretend he’s a prisoner to get past guards where he had trouble with disguises but made up for it with how his recruits were trained and how he used them and used the underground network, then Edward had his time pretending to be Duncan and also used prostitutes, Arno how he stole keys and lock picked and created distractions or fogged up a tunnel and such and crowd blend like a lot of Assassins but had certain advantages with the amount of people, twins also did similar things to Arno but had the kidnapping mechanic, then even Bayek had like the bathhouse scene. Where they all have that skill to various degrees and a lot have different strong points that could be discussed, only Altaïr and Bayek the infiltration is a little behind but something they both at least have and could be interesting discussion on debating the best that can give a lot of props to people that don’t always make the top 3 they have a lot of strong points for them in the category and is again an essential skill for Assassins which they really shine in.

Jacob is like start of AC2 Ezio if he was knew about and operated for the Brotherhood. There’s also that he is canonically bi, and in Victorian society it was far more taboo to express the love that dare not say it’s name, so his devil may care attitude may have been to not think about that.
His and Evie’s upbringings would also influence their personalities. They grew up in the Brotherhood learning the Creed and the craft of the Assassin, and if it’s anything like how Desmond grew up it’d have been a very regimented upbringing. Evie’s no nonsense right to the point by the book approach would have developed here, but Jacob wouldn’t have had much opportunity to express and grow beyond his exuberance. London was the first time he didn’t need to hold himself and his actions accountable to his superiors, for better and for worse, so he hasn’t learned restraint in how he behaves and acts. It’s like making a kid live on a health diet then they get loose in a candy store, chaos will ensue. Yes, it wasn’t anywhere near smooth but Jacob did play a big part in making London more hospitable for the Assassins after a hundred years of Templar rule.

Arno - simp. This guy was Mordecai levels of simp. Also he did a lot of things that really screwed everything up.
Jacob - not really stupid, but definitely impulsive. Whether that counts as stupid or not depends on who you ask
Evie - pretty smart, although some of her actions in the Jack the Ripper dlc were a bit suspect
Bayek - definitely not stupid, just very emotional. He wanted to avenge his son and didn’t care what he had to do in order to do it.
Cassandra - not smart or stupid, just kind of careless
Edward - very intelligent, but immaturity and life among stupid people lead to his lust for money. However, he grew out of that. There is also something to be said about him living so long while everyone else died.
    Eivor - same as Edward
Shay - very smart, but that intelligence led to him joining the Templars. Not like that ever came back to bite him though.
Ezio - similar to Edward and Eivor, he started off doing some dumb shit, but matured as time passed
Altair - he messed up at first, but he got smarter later on
Connor - naive and kind of in over his head, but still showed intelligence sometimes
Overall, it’s kind of hard for me to pick, but I would say Arno.

Connor was definitely not dumb, but more naive considering how and where he grew up, then learning from Achilles mostly about the Assassins so I feel he had to learn as he goes on. Then there’s Evie who was an assassins through and through, even being more stealth oriented in Syndicate. She knows the history of the assassins and has so much more knowledge. Dude, Ezio is by far one of the dumbest assassins, he constantly let his targets get away when he could very easily take them down, which usually leads to a lot of innocent deaths:
For starters he is captured in the ruin outside San Gimignano, somehow, and mess up a golden opportunity to eliminate the templars right then and there. He only menaged to take out Jacopo de Pazzi... who was already bleeding out on the floor. Well done Ezio, all those years of hunting around Tuscany went right down in the toilette.
Hey, remember that one time Ezio stalks the ENTIRE TEMPLAR HIGH COUNCIL for hours (sure felt like it, anyway) while they take a leisurely stroll in Venezia planning the murder of the doge and then he just let's them leave after they are done? WTF? He even calls himself an idiot for letting them get away and he is goddamn right, he could have jumped them all at any point and save the doge, even kill Rodrigo in a second but no, it would be rude to interrupt, I guess. The next three sequences are basically cleaning up after this one idiotic mistake.
Not to mention that one time he and the rest of the assassins have Rodrigo cornered, Ezio pulls a one liner and Rodrigo kicks him in the balls and escapes. That scene is so stupid it's unbelievable to me it was allowed to be put in the finished game. To be fair to Ezio, the rest of the assassins also stand around and let Rodrigo run away for no reason, so it just might be that the Italian assassins are fucking idiots by nature. Must be something in the water.
Or that one times he murders like a hundred people to be able to kill the Pope, only for sparing him afterwards? Again, for no reason?Which, incidentally, leads to the destruction of Monteriggioni, the murder of Mario, the capture of Caterina Sforza and the loss of the Apple.
Remember when he left himself get stabbed by Checco Orsi AFTER he had already killed him, how the hell did he fuck that up? Again, this leads to the loss of the Apple for a full, fucking decade and who knows how many people suffering at the hands of Savonarola's goons.
This is just from AC2, and at the top of my head, there's a lot more you can take from Brotherhood and especially Revelations (he fucks up constantly in that game) but now I'm basically just bullying the poor scemo and I feel bad, but he should at least be a candidate for dumbest assassin, if anything because he causes by far the most damage with his stupid, unnecessary and easily preventable mistakes.
