CD 92.9 FM Weekend DJ Emma "Just Emma" Sedam joins frontman John McCrea to chat about 30 years of touring, traditions along the way, a new record that's been in the works for 6 years, and of course, big naps.

Im 34 and i have been listening to these guys since i was 10. Please make a new record!
They've got such a solid discography! I'll likely be listening to them forever.
I'm french and I'm 37, I listen to Cake since I'm 15yo. I discovered the band with Pressure Chief album, all I love all of them. This groupe remember me a sweet part of my youth, thanks for that and everything
CAKE is one of my favorite groups of indie jazzy rock and vocal effect perfection songs.
I heart Cake
Cake is so underrated😢
Great band! I’m glad he shouted out the legendary Blu Blockers commercial from the early 90’s. It’s on CZcams, if you look it up.
Hey and a big YES YES YES to both of you. I have been in a band since 1991. We record our own music. This is not about us but Interpol, The National and hundereds of other bands have recorded LP's in our studio. The production of Cake is absolutely georgeous. As dry as not buttered rye toast. John has stuck to his sound the whole time. Add amazing songs and fantastic full records and all we want is another LP. Our band The Philistines jr played with Cake in 1995 at Toad's Place in CT. GREAT INTERVIEW! So happy to see and hear this. Cake Cake Cake! Thanks! Love Dave and The Zambonis
Damn bruh I haven’t seen John in a hot minute,I still remember him with the brown goatee 😭
Yeah me too :( I looked in the mirror and realized how much time has passed and is keeping on going… draining and seeping like sand in my hands.. onto a beach of sand
@@Puppy_Puppington What is important is be happy and live the MOMENT!!!!!!!!
@@rochelimit55555 I’m trying man. But it’s hard when you’re a man baby loser with a broken spine and other health conditions and then you became dependent on opiates because of malpractice.
That awesome im 21 love them
I use to listen to them on the radio in the 2000s like the distance, never there and rediscovered them in I think middle school or maybe fifth grade in about 2011ish and been listening to them again ever since.
I love it ❤❤❤🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭
Great video
Always good live shows. Still wishing they would do a remake of Standard White Jesus by Timbuk3.
I love them so much! Such great people and musicians to look up to!! They gave away lemon trees at the. 2 performances I was able to go to, and the people would send photos of the tree to their website. I also dig the quotes they put on their website. Love it when bands are interactive on stage. I got kinda pisses when seeing the strokes live… they didn’t even do an encore -.- and barely talked to the audience! CAKE on the other hand, thrived with it
That co-op idea sounds great!
Friend put Motorcade on in summer 95 on our drive to the grand canyon. By the time we got to You Part The Waters I was a fan for life.
Love John simple as
You guys. Please come to North Texas. Any venue you can perform. Thanks 🙏
great interview, so few people get to pick his mind.
