Every inch of this tiny home has been perfectly designed for them to live big after going tiny. Sheila and Noel are Shaye's Mum and Dad. We've featured several of Shaye's tiny homes in the past, from her original cottage style DIY tiny home ( • Stunning DIY Cottage-S... ), through to her stunning game-changing tiny house that she designed for her and her daughter ( • This Dream Tiny House ... ).
After watching their daughter's tiny house journey, Shiela and Noel decided to take the plunge and give it a go for themselves, selling up their conventional family home and building a truly spectacular tiny house to call home. Downsizing their home to enjoy a greater quality of life and financial freedom in their retirement.
This really is a tiny home that wants for nothing. It's designed to be spacious, with generous indoor / outdoor living. There's space for art, entertaining, a sizeable bedroom and even several sleeping loft rooms, including a play-room for the grand kids. This is a very well thought out tiny house which makes downsizing easy!

well, Bryce needs to make a living, This is his full-time job now, but nothing on Living Big in a Tiny Home is “Clickbait”! this channel has been on CZcams for… I’m not sure, well over six or seven years? perhaps 10 years? and it’s always relevant, authentic, positive! educational, artistic, and just plain brilliant. The whole movement is essential for a sustainable planet;and Bryce and his partner (and the whole crew that produces living big in a tiny home) has made a substantial contribution to sustainability by starting and maintaining this channel!
Wow, one of my absolute favorites! The more tiny homes I explore here on youtube, the more I realize how important a downstairs bedroom is for comfort and livability. So great!!

There is something amazing that occurs when a tiny house designer builds their own house. I remember how striking it was to see Hazel when you featured Shaye's second tiny home. It had some extraordinary design features. This house take tiny living to a new level that is wonderful for seniors and those requiring single-level living. I would have liked to see you walk up to the upper level rather than just showing photos, so we could see the stairs and walkway. But this definitely sparks ideas that could be done even on a smaller scale. Well done Sheila, Noel and Shaye! Thanks again Bryce and Rasa!

@TheTruthSpeakerTV Shaye's original tiny house was one of Bryce's early ti y house videos. I think the house was green - I remember a garden out front. Then she built another stunner that Bryce featured a few years later. She now designs tiny houses - in New Zealand I think - and this video is her mom's tiny. Her mom clearly works for her designing tiny houses. If you look in the description of this video I think there are links to Bryce's videos of Shaye's tiny houses.
OMG! It is such a gorgeous house. I have seen Shaye's videos as well and now it's her mum and dad's tiny house😍 It's not super tiny but very beautifully downsized. They have everything they need for themselves as well as family and friends. I love the color theme and interiors. Plus the land and outside view is just a cherry on top😍💚
What an incredible design. There is so much space for a tiny. That walk-in wardrobe made my jaw drop. The second door makes the house so much more user-friendly! ❤ I love everything about this home.😊😊
A perfect example of how one can purchase a tiny home and add other structures onto it. Certainly gorgeous with a lovely view of the yard plus room for family. This is exactly what I would like to do. Kudos to these fine folks!
Wow even a walk in wardrobe and downstairs bedroom so top 2 can be used for guests. Lovely design. All these people have been very lucky with finding fantastic land to park on too. Shaye's have always been a favourite design and of course the large deck/outside room makes a huge difference too.
Can we talk about how TALENTED their grandkids are?!?!? Their paintings are SOOOOO good for their age!

From the well curated parking space to the enormous solar panel setup to the house design itself, though not really tiny in terms of square footage, such a well designed house suitable not only for retirement but also for those who need an extra space.
Saving this in particular because the layout seems suitable for our residential lot back in my hometown.

I really liked her reference to all her family being able to fit into the living room to watch something. I remember being young and some of my nicest memories are being in cosy rooms with everyone squashed in.. It will make for beautiful memories for your grand-children.

I remember seeing your video of Shay's first tiny home when she was pregnant with her daughter. It was the first tiny home video I ever saw. Oh my! How time has flown. I can't believe her daughter is that old.
Just stunning! The spaces upstairs are a bonus, and leg-dependent, but you can see how this is a place older people could live in for a very long time. The add-on bedroom is so good, and works well with the bathroom and laundry. This one ticks all the boxes!

Nice to see some variation from the typical living, kitchen, bath, & sleeping loft plan. For houses that arent going to move sticking to the single trailer footprint can be so limiting, and designs that break the norm are always welcome!
I love this house! Its solarpunk in idyllic natural surroundings. The only issue with a metal roof is that when it rains, the aggregate sound of every raindrop hitting the roof can make for a loud noise but if you have enough sound insulation I suppose that can be mitigated. I love the vegetable garden, the layout AND they're off grid which is so cool. They are living the life!

I really love this design! The front patio area is beautiful, the exterior panels are a lovely color, I love that there’s space for a garden as well. The kitchen pantry and countertops look high-end.

I love how there is a small gap in the wall between her kitchen, and into her work space in the lounge area. As she's working on her computer at her counter from the lounge, she can see into, and can feel connected to the rest of the home in the kitchen area.❤
Love all the windows - their placements, and their various sizes, according to their spaces. Love the long windows. Esp. on the narrow, upstairs corridor; it leaves the space open and larger feeling, while still affording safety.
As we age, having a bedroom and storage on the main floor is so important. ❤

This is the type of tiny home my mom would adore! I keep showing her your videos and all she says is "if you get me into a tiny home, one of the rooms better be a closet!"
Oh yey! I've been wanting to see Shay's parents' home ever since I heard it was similar but had a slightly different layout than hers. I really like the flow of it with the laundry and bathroom a step outside their bathroom door and an external door leading right out to the clothes line. Also love the size of their bedroom, walk-in closet and all the windows in there. And, I really love that their living quarters are all very comfortable and on the first floor! As an aging couple designing our home to be built in 2025, and after having been through two sets of parents NOT being able to age in place because of stairs, we feel this is an absolute must. You never think you'll have any trouble staying put as you age...Not ME you think. But is it worth taking that chance if you have the opportunity to start with a blank slate and design what actually works for you? We are going to have two "bedrooms" upstairs too, but will be able to comfortably live on the first floor alone if that ever becomes necessary.

😂😂Finally strategic ammunition! The perfect design for ageing bones. I've been watching Bryce's offerings for some time and have fallen in love with the idea of a tiny house. My husband and I live on half an acre with an appropriately sized single storey house which means a good 30% of the house is unnecessary and another 20% (including a billiard room) an indulgence. Three year ago we purchased, off plan, an apartment - my husband is keen to move in and we are waiting to sell our house in order to do so....yesterday as we enjoyed the view from the balcony of our petite new apartment, I looked sweetly at my husband and asked "Remember when you used to find the idea of a tiny house ridiculous?" He smiled and said "You're going to tell me that a tiny house is bigger?" "Oh yes" I gushed ..."but only in the bedroom, the outdoor living room, the kitchen, an additional guest room upstairs AND a proper laundry instead of one in a cupboard!"

34×18 = 612 Sq feet. A VERY nice size yet still considered tiny in the US. I really like the large master closet and front outdoor living area!
