- In this video, Mike at Hudson Valley HiFi goes over the details of a vintage restoration on a late 70s Pioneer SX-1050. Sorry for the vertical aspect ratio, it is easier to display the unit standing up :)

I was a telephone company technician in the 70’s, wire wrap terminals were used extensively on PBX equipment and the benefit was a tight bond and eliminated the potential for damaging or burning adjacent wires and components. There was also an “ unwrap “ tool to loosen and remove the wires twisted onto pin terminals.
I enjoyed seeing the board(s) layout.
Thank you for viewing!
Thanks for posting this! I had my SX-1050 restored a little over a year ago and I'm very happy again. I'm an original owner as well, these were quite a beast in their day when paired with good speakers, they had a great FM tuner as far as receivers go. These are like 45 year old old cars now, they need an old fashioned tune-up, change points, condenser, set dwell, set timing, carb mixture, idle...on and on. Once returned to their best, very little beats the way they sound.
Does this unit belong to a customer, or will you be offering it up for sale when the restoration is complete?
