  • QBUniversity.org - In this Quickbooks Desktop vs Online Review video tutorial, I walk through the key differences between the two Quickbooks versions.
These are the main differences that have made the biggest impact on my clients in making their decision between the two. There are, of course, other differences, but these are the main ones.
The bottom line is that when you are choosing, first think about your business and what you need and don't need, and what's important to you. Then you can easily make an informed decision as to what is best.

Which one did you choose and why ( if you don’t mind me asking) I’m debating....My account doesn’t seemed thrilled for me to go to online because of changes...

I used QB desktop but it's hosted by Right networks...so I can log in anywhere.....I am assuming it's the same as having QB online...right?

Yeah kind of the same. I have used right networks and it was a little bit clunky. But if you are used to using QuickBooks desktop, if there is no overwhelming need to go to QuickBooks online, I wouldn’t.

Hi which one would you recommend for a trucking company? Keeping track of repairs, fuel, etc.

Itzel Mendoza Online should be good if you like the convenience of accessing it from anywhere

We have a company that offers a service as you suggest ( online to be better ) but we are a contractor ( desktop suggested). I’m officially torn.

nicole grote if you need to job cost I would go with desktop. QBO has Projects but it’s kind of clunky at this point

Which QB would you recommend for a person who is a sole proprietor of an online product sale company? Thank you in advance

In general I would say QB Online - but it depends - will you have inventory? And if you do have inventory, will you be using some other program like Shipstation to manage and ship it?

@@QbuniversityOrg Yes, I handmade my products and will have inventory. I haven't decided which program I will be using to ship it as of yet. I am just seeking some advice before I launch my business.

Sasha R if you will have a relatively small inventory that I think QuickBooks Online would be fine. But if you were going to have a bigger inventory with a lot of sales then I would recommend you use QuickBooks online but gifts for her party in then Tori management software that links with QuickBooks

@@QbuniversityOrg I am a little confused towards the end, you mention when you acquire a larger inventory use QB Desktop, but then obtain a software that links that with QB online? Thank you for your help, I appreciate it very much!

Sasha R no, I mean stay with QuickBooks online as you grow bigger, but to manage your inventory you may need to get a third-party app to manage the inventory and that app will link with QuickBooks online
