    Quick books online: where Your privacy ends. Quick books charges You dearly for conveniences and will spam You for more and more ‘conveniences.’ In this current environment, Your accounting software (Quickbooks or whatever) should be on a laptop that isn’t even connected to a network. Use another pc to print what you need to reconcile, then shred.

      I have been saying this for years. Accounting software should be OFFLINE. No reason to ever update it. Use another computer for downloading bank statements, sending emails, etc.

    I have had QBO for a few years and hate it. Spam and pop ups are non-stop and to edit a mistake is nearly impossible, zero customer support, my accountant advised me to dump it and start over with different program. what a waste of money.

    No the invoice customisation in QB Desktop is better because it is more complicatied. QBO shoud add a feature for advanced customisation in there forms. the current options are too limiting for sales agents who are putting in bids for a job.

      Hi Venkat! Thank you so much for the kind feedback. To answer your question, with QB Desktop, multiple company files can be created under one subscription for no additional cost. For QBO, it is possible to add multiple companies under one login. However, a separate subscription will have to be purchased for each company. Best!

    QBO is absolute crap. I’ve used desktop for decades and was really excited to make the switch to a more nimble program, but QBO simply isn’t THAT good. QBO has equally dreadful customer support, and it’s full of bugs. Also - who has ultimate access and control of your accounting information? Intuit. Lending? That’s why I have a bank, but Intuit is happy to constantly push capital access at you in desktop as well.

      I completely agree! Been using QB desktop for many years for multiple clients. We have taken on some that chose QBO for their businesses, accountant end reports and fixing bad bookkeeping is horrible. We also have several others that have moved their systems to XERO which is far better than QBO at all ends of accounting.

      Hi Musa! QuickBooks itself offers some good tutorials and information regarding how to set up the software for nonprofits. Here's a basic overview: quickbooks.intuit.com/ca/resources/nonprofit-organizations/customize-quickbooks-your-needs/
      However, if you find QB Desktop just too difficult to customize, QBO may be a better option. It seems that a lot of organizations use that version and have an easier time with it. Additionally, it also looks like QuickBooks offers more tutorials/help articles/etc. for QBO. Best of luck to you!

      Hi Yaneth! It's hard for us to give a recommendation with little to no information about your companies! Generally, QuickBooks Online is easier to use and has more automations, more integrations, and better invoicing. Whereas Quickbooks Desktop offers comprehensive features, unique touches (such as lead management and sales orders), industry-specific versions of the software, and the potential to be more secure. It all comes down to what your business needs are! To learn more about the two and for our in-depth comparison, check out our article. Hello! Unfortunately, QB Desktop moved to a subscription-only model and no longer sells the one-time licenses. You can only purchase subscriptions from QuickBooks or from other retailers, like Best Buy, Costco, Amazon, etc. While you can find older versions of the one-time license online, many of the online sellers aren’t reputable, therefore we don’t recommend them. • @MerchantMaverick
      @MerchantMaverick Před měsícem

      Hey, Sam! Unfortunately, most accounting software today is cloud-based, so finding a locally-installed option that stands up to QuickBooks Desktop is pretty difficult. Sage 50 is one popular locally-installed option with cloud connectivity that shares many of the features you'll find with QB: inventory management, invoicing, and add-ons like payroll and payment processing. While I'm not sure about the availability or quality of a built-in shipping manager for Sage 50, there are some shipping integrations available that may provide comparable functionality to QuickBooks. A free cloud-based 30-day test drive is available to give the software a try. You can learn more about Sage here: www.sage.com/en-us/
      We'd also encourage you to test out cloud-based options as well to find the best fit. To learn more about the best accounting software options, check out our blog post: www.merchantmaverick.com/easy-accounting-software-for-small-businesses/ - We hope this helps! 🙌

    It's obvious that Intuit, like Microsoft with its Office ambition, wants everyone to use Quickbooks Online. It has gone out of its way to push this product. The Desktop edition exists because it's still unreliable to print out certain things like checks through the web browser, and some large companies still don't trust the cloud.

    completely wrong 1) QB desktop can be hosted and accessed anywhere. 2). QB desktop customers can pay invoices online 3). QB desktop is easier to use 4). desktop support is better. 4). bank feeds in QB online is overly aggressive with matching and has many more problems with posting the wrong things to the wrong department and 5). the "find" capability in QBO is much less robust than QB desktop.

      Hi Laura, thanks so much for sharing your opinions here with other small business owners!
      We actually agree that QB Desktop can be hosted for cloud access. However, out of the box, it is locally installed software not available on the cloud. Hosting comes at an additional fee that we suspect many users aren't going to want to pay if they can easily use QBO to fit their needs.
      We are also in agreement that QB Desktop does allow you to make payments online! Ease of use and support experiences will vary between users, of course, but we truly appreciate you sharing your feedback for other viewers to consider. Best wishes!
