I didn't want to go into detail about how I have been feeling because I probably would have cried and not got any of what I needed to say out! Dan made a 50 year former marine weep. I wish I could go. I feel honored to have been given such an intimate and private peek into his life. Old men cry because they understand the frailty of life and the beauty in people. It is what makes the suffering of being bearable. Dan was good at being.

I will not be able to make it. I am across the pond and I am dealing with my own battles with advanced cancer (but holding my own). That said, please know that I will be with you-all as you put this amazing cancer warrior to rest. Not only Dan, but everyone around him were/are amazing. Truly Dan and his family and wife have helped uncounted people deal with their situation. Dan lives on in all of us that he, and you touched. While short, he did more with his life than most people. God bless him. God bless you-all.

For me, I would not be as focused on “trivial “ things like who got the next promotion. I would not as spent as much time at work and away from the ones I loved. If there is a good thing about Stage 4A Cancer is that I do not take a day for granted, nor those that I love. However, let’s keep the focus on Dan. He was an amazing man. We would all be better if we try to follow in his footsteps.

I've just set up a recurring donation for the youth cancer trust in memory of Dan. I assumed it was a research charity but it is actually a charity that offer things such as free holidays to young cancer fighters. If there's anything that I've learned from Dan's vlogs it's that people in his situation ought to be able to enjoy the time they have regardless of whether they can afford it, so this is my way of helping. I noticed so many donations on there in his memory which I'm sure he's really pleased about wherever he now is. No one should ever have to say goodbye to their parents and family at that age. RIP Dan.

yes! absolutely :-) I will do that for sure. I was also looking for something I could do at the time of his celebration, to honor him and feel a bit like being part of it, I guess. When a friend of mine died who loved all dogs in the world, I also couldn't be there in person on the celebration of his life, so I took my dog for an extra long walk at that time, thinking of him and making my dog extra happy as well, he would have liked that gesture ;-)

I am in USA, and streaming would be precious to me and many others. But it might be an impediment to family closeness possibly, too. It is amazing really how someone we have never met in person could have touched our hearts so much.
This would be Awesome even though we all will be there in Spirit! Becky you are a Amazing young lady and the love you and Dan have for each other touched my heart so much! That is what you call true love just like out of a book or a movie and you both are 2 of the strongest people I have ever known. I was in a really depressed state of mind before I started watching Dan due to chronic pain and knowing the leg surgeries I have to face and he made me realize that life is short and I need to love it and live it no matter what I'm going through and I use to be so high on life before I was taken away from both of my jobs. I hate Cancer and all of the other diseases and they don't care who they attack, Cancer took my granny at 46 years old when I was a young girl and a awful lung disease called Cystic Fibrosis took my little brother but I know they are with the Angel's and no longer suffering just like our precious Dan, he is free from pain even though we will miss him dearly he is a new man! I will always be grateful for Dan and you, Becky and his family and I thank y'all for the joy y'all have bought to my ole heart!! Thank y'all for inviting us all and I'm sending all of my love❤and hugs🤗 from the east coast of North Carolina, ta-ta not goodbye but see you later! I too am in Canada and feel the same way. I’ve never felt so much compassion for an individual I’ve never physically met. It’s really strange this CZcams connection. If I could leave work on such short notice I’d catch the first flight out and go, but unfortunately I can’t do that.

His journey has touched more people, worldwide, than he could possibly have imagined!

We have only experienced his life through a computer screen, but it was enough to get a feel for the pain and suffering he had to endure.
That has now finished, but at a huge cost.
My 1st wife went through a similar journey, over a nine year period, with the same problem of a type of cancer that was extremely rare.

Kris Don nobody really knows. The cancer that took my 1st wife came completely out of the blue. Neither of her parents had it, or her grandparents, even her twin brother. Just a random genetic malfunction. I’m guessing Dan was in a similar position too. All we can do is minimise the risks by avoiding the lifestyle choices that are most likely to trigger the cancer cells that many of us carry. I’m sorry to be a bit of a doom-monger, but you may be fine now, give it 20 years and who knows? Then again you could get hit by a bus tomorrow!!! Have a nice day, and a nice life👍👍
Becca - My condolences to you. I wish I could be there to celebrate Dan’s life with you and the rest of the family and friends on 10/8. Hoping that you can feel the love and support from all that he touched with his messages of positivity and perseverance. Can you please put a video together when the funeral is held? Don't mean no disrespect I would just love to see everyone there remembering Dan and would love to be apart of it even though I live far far away in Sweden and can't really be there for it. Dan's journey has really impacted me and a lot of people watching him so I think that would be a lovely thing to see!

Her husband just died a couple of days ago. Let's not ask her to do work for his channel now. There is plenty of time later if she wants to do that. But asking her to do that now, well, let's just be patient right now.
@@misfitfromtoyisland.9940 we're not asking her to daily vlog, we're asking her (or anyone who would like to do it) to film a very special event that his fans would love to see because not everyone has the opportunity to go to the funeral and celebrate what he has created.
Asking becca or someone (not necessarily immediate family) to record the funeral is no more incensative than going to the funeral, thankyou for asking as I for one can't go even though I'd love to but being bed bound its impossible, my heart is breaking and miss Dan immensly
Then maybe the fans who are there can film and create a nice video (with the family's permission). Don't ask the family to do it... They will if they are up to it, there's no need to ask for such a thing. Let them have it their way, which is the best way.
My deepest sympathy to you all. Dan inspired me & a whole lot of people. I never met him but he somehow inspired the deepest places in my heart. I loved Dan like a mom loves her child--I'm 52. May God help fill this hole in your hearts. I do think Dan is somewhere in Heaven climbing a mountain or bungee jumping.

I will be there! Dan you and the rest of his family are an amazing inspiration to many people including myself, Dan's strength is a candle to so many people suffering this terrible illness, I lost my mother at 49 to brain cancer and also my best friend and I only found out last week my cousin who is only 32 who has two young children was diagnosed with two incurable brain tumours(secondary cancer) this is why Dan's story and journey was and is so important for others to find strength in!! I just hope if ever I have to go through this I have half the strength and dignity that Daniel Thomas had!! R.I.P Brother.

Dear Becca - I am so very sorry for your loss. It's easy to see why Dan fell madly in love with you! My heart aches so badly for you and the Thomas family. I feel as though a family member had passed away - I think of Dan each day, throughout the day and then my thoughts immediately turn to you and the family. I wish I could be there to celebrate Dan's life, but living in the U. S. makes it difficult. So, I will join you from afar. I am just now hearing that Dan has passed on. Being in the US and all, I cannot be there, but my heart and prayers will be. I've prayed for Dan for many months, since finding his videos by accident one day..I grew to love him like a little brother, over these Interwebs. Take good care of YOU, sweetie, and you'll surely remain in my prayers. I prayed HARD for Dan's healing, but sometimes, God's answer is no, and one day, we'll find out why once we're there with Him.
