This song made such an impact in my life as a young believer. This was one of the first contemporary Christian songs I taught to my children.
He Paid our Ransom due! and tore the Temple Veil Into! and OPENED up the way for Me and You !!! IT IS FINISHED! Thank You Jesus !!!!
This song says just about all that matters. He finished it for us all. Praise the Lord for that.

One of the best songs that Petra ever came out!! Every word rings so true through this song of why he came tonsavenusnall from sin!!! It is finished!!! He finished what he came here for!!! Son we can all be with him for all eternity!!!!

This was the first song by Petra I ever heard, and in fact it was the first Christian rock song I ever heard, back in 1985. Been hooked on Petra ever since!
This song always makes me cry.. when you think of what Jesus has suffered on the cross to save us all. "The work had been done, redemption had been won. The war was over without a fight. It is finished!"
This was the second best Petra song of all time. The best song ever was "Adonai" on this same album.
BTW, "Beat the System" was the best Petra album ever.

Good song, I first listened to this song when I was little. My sister had the tape, which I wore out!
This was one of my favorite songs from my teenage years, That group, as it existed then, was just phenomenal. Nearly every song they came out with was just outstanding. Love their music to this day.

Very good lyrically and musically Progessive Christian Rock band. This song still brings a ter to my eye.
All of their music was Biblically very strong from a Lyrics standpoint, a fact that is often missed. But this is just such an overall great song with a cool rhythm and beat. Extremely well put together.

It's a shame Hartman's guitar work at 0:31 is so hard to hear. He's playing a Judas Kiss-like riff but it's mixed so low it might as well not even exist. Wait... it's a bit more audible at 1:23.

One of my old favorites. Much of modern Christian worship music seem so insipid by comparison. Jesus is my girlfriend music and empty repetitions.

Yeah, I come from Conservative Christian background....but honestly, even as an atheist, I can point to a couple of finer points of the 80s Christian Rock scene. When you're too young to get into the secular music venues to see a bunch of crappy drug-addled/drunk circuit bands, you could go to a church every couple of months and sit front row at a very professional gig and see some solid players who weren't bombed on drugs and looking to score with the girl you came with.
