Amazing that there were three potential lead singers in one band. Brian and Roger both have great voices but Freddie is in a league by himself as you know.
Sail Away Sweet Sister, was sung & written by May, although Freddie took the lead mid-song, and harmony vocals enhanced a grandstanding chorus in the classic Queen tradition. May also harmonizes with himself, quite brilliantly, in a multi-tracked guitar solo. It has never been performed live by Queen, but has been by Guns N' Roses and by Brian May himself during the Another world tour in 1998. This song finds a young lady coming of age and leaving the nest.
Great song! Great reaction as always, keep that train going. There is going to be a new song from vocals by Freddie recorded in 1989 and reworked for release in September...
Subtitled “To The Sister I Never Had” .. I had read somewhere that Brian’s parents had a miscarriage before Brian was born, a baby sister. He is the only child of Harold & Ruth May. Brian just celebrated his birthday in July. He has three children Jimmy, Louisa, & Emily. 😁
Debra, I read that too. Every Queen member has a sister, except Brian. John's sister is Julie, Roger's sister is Claire, and Freddie's sister is Kashmira. It's not that easy to be the only child.
I hear a lot of Beatles influence in this song, Brian still thinks they are the Best. This really sounds like Brian's early writing back around the time that he was with his band Smile. I don't know when it was actually written but it really has that feel to it. Thank you for your reaction.
thanks, Rad - Brian song for sure...quite emotional... Freddie only does the brief "bridge" -- Brian said he wrote this "for the little sister I never had".. It would be great if you listened to one of his solo songs from a few years back - ""In another world" -- It just came to my attention, b/c a few months ago he visited Tenerife, Canary islands, Spain - of course, b/c great space observatory (you certainly know that he is a phd astrophysicist, right?) - anyway, he took the opportunity to finally make a video for this: czcams.com/video/rJI_CkHJ9Z0/video.html - also while there, he did new video for '39 which I think you know... appreciate your reactions!
Have you done Dragon Attack at Milton Keynes ? czcams.com/video/nSg7VIda_70/video.html In this version a string breaks on Brian's guitar so the line is kept by John Deacon. In another version Brian gets lost and John gets Brian back on beat with a visual arm motion. Bass and drums are the pulse of the band.

You can also report them (as I do) to utube. Just click the three dots by the comment. Maybe we can get rid of them if multiple people report…. Maybe!?!

There's a line out there that says that Queen had a good singer (May), a great singer (Taylor), and Freddie Mercury.

Brian's songs are always thoughtful. He noted that this song is dedicated to the sister he 'never had'.
So happy you're back to Queen Sunday's.....thank you
Me too! 🙏🏽

He also had a solo career as did Freddie & Roger
Great reaction! Thank you for your thoughtful ideas. I love Brian May’s voice!
I really enjoy your reactions. So thoughtful. Thank you!
I love Queen Sunday.
Very nice.

thank you for reacting to this song…..love it…
As great as Freddie is, Brian May is such an underrated guitarist...
masterpiece
Brian's sister was born without life, so it's a really sad song.

Thanks! Had no idea what they were saying
I've noticed that a lot recently and have been reporting them, hopefully they get them permanently removed
