I have both, honestly daylight image you can't tell the difference unless it's a low light which is minor, don't upgrade just for the camera, 48PM is for people who is into photography who shoot raw and know how to use it.
Don't get me wrong 14 Pro cameras has features and is amazing but day to day usage you will not going to see difference from 13 Pro.
Iphone 13 Pro is an outstanding device.
As I said 5 days ago: "Over sharpening is still HORRIBLE, especially in video... WE NEED an option to reduce the ULTRA SHARPENING that ruins the footage. And keep in mind that CZcams compresses and smooths things out. "
Suggestion: Use "details" instead of "sharpness". Apple is really confused right now... Details = Good / Over sharpen = BAD!!!

Thanks. I mostly shoot my 13 Pro with the telephoto in portrait mode and I see very little difference. In fact, the 13 looks a bit better. I'll pass on the 14 and hope for an upgraded telephoto sensor/camera on the 15.
I have an iPhone 13 Pro Max and honestly itâs not worth the upgrade. However anyone with an iPhone XS should definitely upgrade.
I will be upgrading to the 14 Pro Max from an XS and it arrives in October. Couldnât agree more.

I've a 13 PM and a 14 PM. If you re in general sb who upgrade your iphone yearly, it s the best time to do. It s the first time for years that a iphone doesn't feel like its last gens because of that beautiful and pretty useful dynamic island. This feature will revolutionize multitasking on the iphone if the 3rd party apps will get some updates for it
I was on the fence about upgrading from my 13 Pro Max until saw your video and great camera comparisons. Thatâs insane that in some modes the 13 was better! Iâll wait for the 15 when we know theyâll be some big improvements as itâll be the 3 year since.

This makes me feel better about keeping my 13 pro. I was totally going to upgrade for the island & camera but now... ehhh. My 13p takes fantastic pics already and hardly any apps use the island anyway. Maybe I'll upgrade if more apps start utilizing the island, who knows.
I have a 13 Pro and completely satisfied with it. I may upgrade once Apple comes out with iPhone 16 Pro.

Thank for this video! I really wanted to upgrade from the 13 Pro as I read about that new 48 mega pixel main camera with the larger sensor. But it seems to be let down.
I bought a 13 Pro because of the better Price here in Germany (Apple raised the prices for the new iPhone here in Germany up to 15%) and now i am sure i did the right thing.
I also bought the Apple Watch Series 7 instead of the Series 8. I am happy with that decision.
I also have a 13 pro max and will not buy the 14 pro max. Here in belgium the prices are more then 200 euro higher!

I had already decided for a 13pro max (have an 11 pro now) and now I am very sure that I made the right decision, at least regarding the camera! Not feeling the dynamic island and I don't care about the satellite thing since it won't even work here in Sweden. The 14 pro/max is also way too expensive anyway since Apple raised the price here.

During testing I was surprised to see that the iPhone Action Mode offered little improvement in stabilisation when compared to the stabilisation in the ânormalâ iPhone video setting. In all honesty as photographer/videographer the 13 pro is just as good. All you have to do for your 13 pro videos and photos is adjust/increase the âsharpenâ and or âclarityâ to mimic the 14 pro. If you have a 13 pro no need to update if anything less than a 13 pro Iâd say get the 13 pro not the 14
idk which one to buy, i ve never have an iphone, and m afraid that 14 which is knewer and more expansive would be worse or even doesn t diserve the diffrence, also the sharpness in the 14, ig it is bad, idk, cuz a lot of it is bad hh
I wonder if some of these differences in sharpness and color (where the 13p does better) can/will be improved with software updates. I can imagine Apple needing more user data and feedback to fine tune the new camera/modes/sensors. Possible?

14 pro use the f1.78 and 13 pro use the f1.5 in main camera. Lower is better. Im 14 pro max user. 14 pro max is the worst camera update ever.

An addition to hdr toggle in the camera settings, like it used to be, would be a welcomed solution to the over sharpness you mentioned.
Toggling hdr on or off wouldn't change sharpening in processing. That's a completely different thing and unrelated to hdr

I have iphone 11 pro max & when i turn smart hdr in the "photos" setting, the camera renders a more neutral looking photo than that with hdr enabled.
Hdr is an option on my device setting app.
Hdr in "photos" became obligatory in iphone 13s series & on this year iphone 14s too.
They even used last year hdr 4 image processing with iphone 14 series with its issues remain unsolved.
Hdr dolby "video" recording is a different option Apple introduced with iphone 12 pro video recording & as far as i know there was no video issues while using it.

I feel some minor adjustments before and after shot and using the built in styles and filters might help alot. I usually use the warm stules
I'm sure Apple is now working on a software update to downgrade the 13 ;))
The image processing is similar on both. So 12mp or 48mp in this case doesn't matter. Infact 12mp sensor takes advantage of this.

Some of the new Features of the 14 line are softwarebased. Especially the dynamic island animation is also possible on the notch iPhones . The camera looks better on the 14 pro but the pictures on the 13 pro could be better in my opinion when the software is more adjustable . The automatic Filters on the 13 pro create a aquarell like picture.
Its not possible on notch phones. The notch screens dont have a touch panel above the front cameraâs.
From my tests with my 13 pro and 14 pro I notice a lot of what you are saying, but where I see a huge leap is the video side. 4k30 cinematic Iâve gotten some unreal footage of the beach vs what my 13 pro could do

Regarding the plant photo, you mentioned the 14 looks sharper in the leaves on the right, but if you look at the other leaves, it shows just how artificially sharpened it was. Shadowed features shouldn't be too sharp, because well lit items will be over-sharp.
Odd. Iâve seen ultra wide examples in night mode that were dramatically better on the 14. Maybe a defective unit? Dirty lens?

Looked to me like many of the photos were better on the 13 pro than the 14 pro. Maybe it's just my perception of what takes a better photo than just the sharpness of the photo which seems to be what you are basing your test on for a better camera.

So true! Lots of reviewers harp on "sharpness" and "natural", whereas being an average joe, I just want great-looking photos with minimal effort!
Maybe the "3X better than" feature in low light helps take the photo faster, not necessarily better

One word about sharpeness. More sharp isn't always better... in fact, current sharpness levels on iPhones processing are way over the top. Micro-sharpeness and contrast are highly exaggerated and produce overly-processed images that start to look worse, rather than better. Hope they improve this. 48mp raw files and 48mg jpegs from Halide do look stunning though!

Deep fusion/photonic engine is really bad. It crushes the shadows and over sharpens so aggressively it's making me rethink my 14 Pro Max purchase; had an iPhone 8 Plus long ago and loved how natural the photos looked... so long. Sad too 'cause you can see the untouched version moments after taking a picture; just to see it get destroyed seconds later f

I got it on release day so I wasn't able to watch a lot of review videos, but I'm still happy with what I got! Just upgraded my iphone 6s to 13 pro. Its great. But, i keep wondering if i took the right decision to buy 13 pro instead 14 pro. Because actually in my country, the price of 14 pro is a bit cheaper than 13 pro. I got the 13 pro because some review tells that overall its better than 14 pro. And also at first i donât really like the dynamic island. But now, seems like i kinda regret it. I like it, its a good feature. I know thereâs almost no difference between two of them but overall i think that 14 pro camera is better. And the thing is 14 pro has autofocus on front camera which 13 pro doesnât. After using 13 pro front camera for several days, i hate that its hard to focus, especially when taking close up photos. The photo results seems still blurry for me. So i think iâm just gonna upgrade to 14 pro..
I upgraded (havenât received it yet) from the Xr to 14 Pro. Due to introduction offers the 13 Pro was actually $2 more per month. Only hope now that Iâll experience an upgrade from my old Xr đđđ

I got the 13 pro last year specifically for the camera so I can take better pictures and videos. I can see thereâs no major difference between the 13 pro and 14 pro cameras but there still are little differences and thatâs gonna bother me đ oh well Iâm not paying for the 14 pro just gonna stick with the 13 pro

I have to say, as a very picky hairdresser, the iPhone 14 pro is the first phone since the original iPhone 5 looking SE that didnât make perfectly clean hair look slightly greasy, sharpness isnât always desirable

@@MirchoTheBarber If I remembered to charge it, the original SE is better for social media posts, and other small format pictures, and the 13 pro is better for things intended to be printed or viewed on a desktop.
Aperture on 14 Pro is smaller, not bigger. Bigger sensor so bigger net gain in light but only a tiny amount.
If you have to zoom in to see the difference, it's not really a major upgrade. The only major upgrade camera wise is the front camera.

i was watching with surround sound & the iphone 14 had a very immersive sound while the 13 video sounded louder but it was just blasting from the front & it didnât feel like i was there, so for cinema quality video the 14 audio is probably better by default âŠhavenât looked at the file types tho so idk what sort of audio encoding each uses đ€·ââïž

you should do a video on the 48 mp raw vs the 13 pros camera
So the only real benefit is the ability to shoot 48 raw, which take up a ton of space. But if youâre at some great location and want to take a great picture, maybe print and frame it, the 14 pro is the answer. Some shots it has more detail but Iâm iffy on that oversharpening.
I have an X that I recently swapped out the broken screen.. but in doing so, it mustâve messed up thermals and it gets hot, runs slower, etc. my buddy may sell me his 12 for 350 which should last me at least until the 16 comes out, which will hopefully correct all the issues. I actually prefer the picture processing in the 11 compared to the 12, but at least the 12 has OLED đ€·đ»ââïž
Also annoyed the lens still shows the green orbs (as seen in the nighttime video comparison here). The most distracting thing in a pic is a floating green blotch. Idk why the brilliant minds canât fix this.

The evolution of the iphone 14 pro is marginal. If you have to zoom in a photo to see the differences. It's no use upgrading from the 13 pro. May be for the 15 pro.

I have an iPhone 8 plus. It's in great condition haven't changed battery, front, back, very good. I want to upgrade though. Should I wait for the Iphone 15 cuz of the redesign, usb-c and stuff or should I buy the 14 pro now.
Those hanging lights costs around 7 dollars/piece here in India (good quality metal built, including a 4W bulb). i think it will be much expensive there.
I am on the fence again. I currently have an 11 pro max, with a pending order for the 14 pro max (512gb) I am wondering if I should just go the used 13 pro max route and save some cash.
When apple says 2-3 x better in low light that mostly just means it gathers more light so night mode activities less often and when it does takes photos quicker in night mode so there is less blur potential on moving subjects or from hand shake. It doesnt mean it will be brighter.

I got my 14 Pro on Saturday and I have to say I'm not impressed at all. Rather disappointed if I'm being honest. Tons of noise, over sharpening and over saturating on the photos. But the biggest joke is the battery life. I got 4 hours of use yesterday, and that was only with Safari and Outlook. I had to disable always on display cause it drains the battery a lot. Hopefully they will fix some of those issues with IOS upgrades.
Apple makes their cameras better with updates throughout the year! That saying, I am perfectly happy with my 13 pro max. I donât really need anything much better right now. Unless they give us 10x telephoto lense or something. Also I enjoy the notch more than the dynamic island. Seems less distracting.

11:18 the 14 pro is better here, because it has F1.9, which is better, excepts more light in, than 2.2. It makes the image sharper in the tips of objects.

I would take all photos in Raw and upload them off the iPhone, would have really preferred if you used the RAW for more tests on this.
I would say all these iphone 14 improvements could happen with software update on 13 series.
I'll just buy a used iPhone in half price.
the 14 pro was like a leap year for iphones, they tried to use the dynamic island as some revolutionary new feature that everyone needs when its really no different than a notch that shows a little bit of info. Im perfectly fine with my 13 pro
How is it similar to the notch? Meaning that it is still in the way of things, I donât really watch that many videos on my phone unless itâs Instagram or tick tok because I have my iPad 12.9 inch for CZcams. Iâm just worried about ig or tok tok. I would get the 14 pro but so I donât have to deal with a notch as Iâm coming from an iPhone 8plus but since I love that green color so much, Iâm getting the 13 pro max.

13 Pro to 14 Pro isnât an upgrade. Itâs a change. For anyone with an 11 Pro or older, the newer design, larger displays, and cameras would be worth it.
Pro's weight like a brick compares to regular, unless you need minuscule zoom lens you just buy non-pros
