Switched up from a 12 to a 13 recently. I only needed basic iOS access and I do think the 13 is still good for that.
most of the upgrades you mentioned about the pro can be said about the regular, I think it's not worth the upgrade unless you really need it

E sim is a big issue for ppl that travel or do international business using two sims cards. They have to get the Canadian ver of the phone if they wanna upgrade. But hopefully this pushes carriers around the globe to adapt the e sim

The E sim supports multiple different virtual sims at a time.
Depends who rules the market on that particular country. Lets say apple only has 25% market share on this country and 75% is everyone else, physical sim stays. 😅

I'm mostly upgrading from iPhone 6S and hopefully can get my hands on the 14 Pro Max 512Gb here if I do have the money. Here in my country is really quite a jump leap of the price. Hope I'll be able to get one from my dad for my birthday in January. 🙏🙏🙏 (FYI: I'm 33 turning 34, not really being able to work due to health issues)

Stop wasting your dad’s money, you will be turning 34. Get TF up and dont waste such amount of money on phones if its not needed as you are unemployed right now so you must be needing some amount of money during emergencies
I'd say the esim is really the biggest con especially for people who work or travel abroad often. Going to developed countries is not a problem, but elsewhere it's just a big hassle.

I am very intrigued and thinking very strongly about purchasing the 14 pro. I currently have the S21 Ultra so a person might wonder why I would want to upgrade but the fact is the size, 6.8 in is just too big. I ride a bicycle and take my phone with me and I'm always struggling to keep it in my pocket and although the 10x Zoom is an amazing thing to play with I really don't use it as much now as when the phone was new and it was still a toy. A 6.1 in phone is so practical and easy to hold and seems to have all the features and niceties that I would require and enjoy. Thank you for your video as it has given me practical information to make my choice. You have a friend in Columbus Ohio!

Spread the cost on a plan. The iPhone 14 Pro will last at least 5 years.

iphone 11 just went out of the market in 2019 in september so almost 3 years. I already has iphone 11 too and in 09.09 in premiere I just Bought the 14 pro

The 2000 nits and dynamic island are the only things that make me want to upgrade. I probably gonna stick with my iPhone 13 pro max. I will wait for 15 since 15 is my favourite number. But we will see about that
I fear the redesign the most so when I get the 14 pro max is only to preserve them and use them for next 5-7 years never held a phone for even 5 years before, but I think Apple will never top this current design since 12 pro.

Why is it wasting money? If you make enough money, then you can afford it. I spent around £ £250-£350 each year on upgrading. That’s not a lot of money.
If you are happy with upgrading thats not a waste of money, you work to earn money, you earn money also to be happy
I sold my 13 pro max and just got the 13 pro (got sick of the pro max size and weight) gonna see what the 15 Pro will offer before I decide to buy it or not next year.
I did the opposite as was not impressed by battery on regular 13 pro and the notch felt bigger. Overall way happier with the max.
@@mattmarlow4166 yeah, I love the battery and screen size from a casual sense, but as I work in a timber yard, carrying this thing around all day in my pocket gets annoying, so for my everyday use this seemed the nice sweet spot for me. Not bothered about the 14 pro since I feel for my uses its not that huge of an upgrade.

Went from a 11 to a 14 pro after 2/3 years and you can feel the difference. And also 5G connection was a big thing aswell

@@Ohkeh640 hi mate , and I would say if your going from the iPhone 11 , you might aswell because it feels a lot more updated in terms of camera features and screen resolution. I found my battery life on the 11 was getting worse and also I couldn’t see the screen in the sun very well even on full brightness. Faster data as now I have 5G instead of 4G. The 14 pro really does feel like an upgrade. Weight difference? Haven’t really noticed tbh.
Here in Australia the price is $2099😶 for the pro max, it sucks but supply and demand really does suck you in

physical sim trays are the 3.5mm jacks of now, still very useful, taken out by Apple, I’m glad it’s restricted to the US model only, but we can be sure to see all iPhones getting that treatment soon, and it is a BAD idea, may it be for privacy or convenience

I'm coming from the Pixel 6 Pro. I like this phone but most of my friends have the iPhone. I lose a sort of connection with my buddies bc then they have to go out of their way to download another app to have a group chat just for me. So I'm wanting to get an iPhone now and see the difference. Pro Max for sure, just figuring out if I should invest in the 13 or the 14. I'm also wanting the usb-c eventually and I think they are coming out with it for the 15. What's the smartest way to spend my money if that's my goal?
Probably just buy the cheapest iPhone. Imo the iPhone 12 or 13. And then wait till usb c is announced

I would actually suggest buy the most latest phone today, so when you sell it holds value.. a 12 might be slightly cheaper today, but will not be desirable by when 15 comes so will have very minimal value/demand

hey for me i am waiting for the iPhone 15 pro series. or maybe the iPhone 16 pro max with under screen Face ID sensors under the display. or for a single camera hole on the front display on iPhone series. For a design change to the iphone series. I have the iPhone 12 Pro Max blue color right now. i’ll probably get the new iPhone 16 pro max or the iPhone 15 pro max. i would like to see the display camera battery. or other things to get better improvements on the next iPhone series. hopefully will get some big changes with the next iPhone 16 series. also will come with no notch no obstructions.

I’m upgrading from iPhone 11 to 14 pro max i love bigger display even tho 6.1 is a sweet spot for me. Even tho lot of ppl here fans subscribers or even some CZcamsrs saying not to upgrade. I think they are taking bout the group of iPhone 12 and up. But i wonder if u are looking for an upgrade from 11 what phone would make a perfect sense for money and features. Some saying wait for 15 but someone who is in the upgrade program or just want a new phone can’t.
Im upgrading from 13 Pro to 14 Pro Max for storage and battery life. I had the 12 pro max and felt like i downgraded, i have almost 400gbs of video that i sometimes edit on mobile adobe on my phone so i wanted to be able to dedicate around 200gbs for storage just for holding video on the device. Plus for me the battery life on 13 pro is terrible, running a lot of adobe apps and things like genshin impact and it couldnt handle like the pro max could for my useage
IMO the biggest reason not to upgrade from the 13s to the 14s is the lack of USB-C. The 15s are suppose to get USB-C, so if you have a 13, or even a 12, this upgrade is worth holding off and just wait for the 15s. If the 14s had USB-C, I would have upgraded from my iPhone 13 Pro Max in a heartbeat.
I know I’m in the minority but I honestly don’t care about usb c. I have a 12 pro max and imo this is the worst iPhone I’ve ever owned. So I’m upgrading to the 14 pro max :) also my mom has the iPhone 13 and I love the 120hz.

Here in India, 14 pro max starts at 1529 pounds when converted from INR. It’s a lot. And really sucks.

Coming from the XS Max, I got the 13 Pro Max instead of the 14 Pro Max just because i find the 13s feature to be good enough and my phone is just for social media use for photos and videos; and honestly, I don't think I need to get the latest model just because it has new features and better cameras. Lastly, practicality wise, it saves me money🤣😂
My dad has the XS and told him to go get a iPhone 13 Pro cause he travels to his home country and uses non esim carrier, unless he’s wanted to drive to Canada and buy a 14 pro with a sim

No SIM card, no Upgrade… Very disappointed in this and just lost a potential upgrade from me who was Wanting to upgrade. I travel too much do to my job and E-Sim is NOT desired in any shape or fashion. Terrible decision this early as E-Sim is NOT there yet. Sticking with Sim Card phone until E-Sim gets WAY better. Love Apple but HATE this choice so early
I have an iPhone X and will likely go up to the 13 Pro, not the 14. My carrier doesn’t support eSim so I chatted online with Apple. They suggest going to Canada to buy a 14 that takes a SIM card. (I live near Detroit, so it’s an easy border cross). What do you think?

Sure, give it a try with cameras for 13 Pro and 14 Pro... Don't just read specs, take a shot, then you will rethink your statements... Only visible difference when you are comparing it side by side is during low light. But if I give you pictures which aint side by side, 99% will make mistakes while differentiating if the picture were taken with 13 or 14 pro
I can think of another reason not to upgrade- that little onscreen display looking like a blackhead on my screen when I watch videos. I think I’m okay with my 13 Pro Max for now thank you.

I think the eSIM problem is really anyone outside the US problem. The US is the only place getting all eSIM iPhones. iPhones shipped outside of the US all have SIM card trays as other countries haven't progressed this technology. Within the US the setup is easy and their is no extra charge. Cannot blame Apple for your carrier problems, they are primarily a US company and are based in the US. They will make changes for the US market, that who they care about most, then other countries next.

As impressed as I am with the specs on the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max, I think I’ll keep my iPhone 13 Pro for the time being.
I tend to keep my current iPhone for at least two years before upgrading.

the only thing i would get the upgrade for is the satellite sos that is insane if it works as intended. id spend money for that peace of mind alone. oh and crash detection

definitely 14 if you are choosing one of the pro models but if you’re looking for the regular base models I’d say the 13’s :)

In the past I wouldn't update at all. My 13 Pro Max is still smooth like a champ. But in the past year I use 13 Pro Max for my work more often than I think. Its camera capabilities, especially the video, are a great supplement to my photo and video shooting gears. Sometime I even make product photos and promo videos using solely 13 Pro Max. This year 14 Pro Max shows exactly what I would like to see in the camera department so I would upgrade to it. Also, definitely pro max...the battery life is crazy!!! (outshines its heft...)

That is a stupid question. Why would you even considering upgrade when you upgrade to just 13 to 14 only? It’s truly a waste of money.
Depriving users of a SIM slot, USB-C, fingerprint ID & other features offered by competitors caused me to get my 1st Samsung (Galaxy S22 Ultra)!
