    I’m glad I found this. $500 seems like a lot to spend on this for the product you get out of it.

    Just saw this video! I love the concept of this product and the amount of space I’d be saving. The scratches and marring is one thing I’m concerned about too but after seeing your solution, I might have to pull the trigger on this product. Did you happen to make a review on it and how it held up after some use??

    Hey brother, I realized at the end of the video that you may not know that your water cans are designed to lock into each other at the bottom. Maybe you did realize and just wanted to be able to pull them off individually.

    So when you purchase the mount, you still have to purchase the RotoPax mounts separate is that correct? The mount doesn't come with 4 Rotopax mounts?

    • @roamingwithjosh

      That is correct. It sucks, but that's the way it goes I guess.

    Do you find that the extra packs on the side of the jeep end up getting in the way on trails etc etc... Clearence issues on very narrow trails or close to cliffs and rocks?

    • @roamingwithjosh
      @roamingwithjosh  Před 2 lety

      Not really, if anything it's extra protection for your windows. The biggest back is losing visibility because the cans are in your line of sight.

    • @roamingwithjosh
      @roamingwithjosh  Před 2 lety +1

      Thank you! They held up decently. If you put them on I would recommend keeping them on full time. The brackets that slide under the hardtop started to bend after I took them on and off a few times. It also caused scratches to the hardtop that I could have lived without and that's why I added some double-sided velcro. This was a pretty early model so hopefully, that stuff is worked out.

    Hey great video love the honesty. Next time you take the tanks off the jeep Could you kindly let us know how far apart those holes are. Not bashing their product was considering buying until im seeing literally how simple it would be to make myself. Reason I would is because my roof rack is not attached and I keep a very expensive tent up there. So I want to make the bottom legs fold under the hard top and and bolt under it. Then bolt onto my roof rack. Then it would be an extra pain for anyone to try to steal all of the 3 then combined items. Or should I try to take a drive out there and help improve their product a little? Thats what I really want. I could steal yours in sec if I was a dick and knew the price of it. Just a heads up. Your water tanks should also connect to be one big tank and still fit the locks to be harder to steal if your only using one lock on either side.

    • @roamingwithjosh
      @roamingwithjosh  Před 4 lety

      Yea I can do that. Which holes are you referring to so I know what to measure? We’re making our way out west now so I could probably do it when I fill the tanks up.

    • @roamingwithjosh
      @roamingwithjosh  Před 4 lety

      The link to the mount and the rotopax is separate from the TrailRax Mount that goes on the jeep. You can find that at Trailrax.com. Sorry for the confusion on that.

    @brokenfish7 Před 4 lety +1

    I’m curious if you feel like they were worth the money now after a little while of having them installed? I went to buy them myself until I saw I was going to be around $600-$700 just in the trailrax plus rotopax mounts. I have a hard time feeling like that’s a fair price personally. Looks good though! :)

    • @roamingwithjosh
      @roamingwithjosh  Před 4 lety

      Having this mount when we are traveling with our son definitely frees up room inside the jeep and that is a big help. When just my wife and I travel we probably wont use them only because we don't need that extra bit of room inside the Jeep. It really depends on how many you have and what kind of space you need inside the rig. The price is a bit steep, but I already had the RotoPax and the mounts so it was less expensive for us. Overall the the Trailrax held up well and we took it into some serious spots so as far a durability is concerned its a good system. Hope that helps, dude!
