  • Operating and making a latte with the La Marzocco GS/3
    My sister was doing me a favor by dog sitting while I was away and wanted to know how to use my espresso machine. Made a tutorial video and thought other people might find it useful as well.

    Okay, this was the most helpful instruction video ever. I guess my brain works the same way.

    A rocky with a gs3?! Contrasting ends of the machine scale there :)

      Decided to upgrade the grinder at a later date. Was hoping to find a model that would fit under my counter and look nice. I was going to get a Baratza Vario but just didn't like that way it looks. For a home machine, for me anyway, the ascetics are factor as well as just the performance. So for now I will be keeping the Rocky for a little while longer.

      Yeah the GS3 isn't deserving.

      sorry, but you are running rolls royce among home coffee machines with volkswagen golf among grinders.....please get a monolith grinder at least, it's about 2grands, but you can't really go with anything less than that with that machine, no excuses...and this is from a coffee novice myself...

      la marzocco are top dogs in home area. he can get also mazzer major, or compak k10 or just any pro oriented grinder, but rocky is shit. i rather bought 15 years old compak k6 with tens of thousands of doses on a counter for 50 plus new burrs than i would buy new shitty clumpy rocky....it's shit, that's a fact. just look at the clumps. and having it for its mediocre design is a poor excuse

      Opinions are like assholes aren't they? I've worked on several LaMarzocco machines and wasn't impressed. Dunno why many have issues with clumping as I have a Rocky and have NO issues with clumping whatsoever. I get a nice/fluffy grind that never disappoints in quality or consistency. Maybe all of you newbies just don't know how to effectively dial your shit in.

    You have to upgrade your grinder due to not fit with your great machine ;)

      I agree! I just wish my counters were not so low. None of the nice grinders fit under them.

      The Rocky is far better than some coffee tards make it out to be. What I find amusing is so many 'coffee elitists' go through so much $, time and effort in the quest for perfect espresso only to bitch it up by adding milk. Lattes just don't belong in life!

    • @mpetnuch
      @mpetnuch  Před 6 lety +2

      That's a little extreme that lattes don't belong in life ;)

      Gets annoying when so many claim to be espresso purists only to soften it by adding milk.

      @mpetnuch  Před 6 lety

      Hi! It's not a special edition. I just purchased their custom walnut parts. You can find it under the GS/3 Custom Parts section on their website.

    Stunning multi thousand dollar machine and a crappy little grinder?

    • @richardcranium9415
      @richardcranium9415 Před 6 lety

      Crappy little grinder, lmao?!? The Rocky weighs about 18 lbs. and is quite capable. Maybe you don't have a clue as to how to maximize it. What's overrated is anything made by LaMarzocco. Nothing but overpriced/hyped polished turds.

    • @s1914
      @s1914 Před 6 lety +1

      Richard Cranium sure it's a decent grinder within reason, but you've got a top drawer machine there that you're pairing it with!

    • @martinkulik9466
      @martinkulik9466 Před 6 lety

      right so you have that same crappy grinder and you defend it, because you are happy with it...than good, but if i am you i would throw it away and go on craigslist and buy second hand profi machine from some bar and get new burrs and then you can compare....

    • @richardcranium9415

      Problem is all you wannabes think high end equipment is necessary for great espresso/consistently. If you can't make use of lesser/cheaper equipment then your issue is lack of skill/technique. At one point I had a $100,000 mobile setup that would blow your mind with what was onboard. I didn't settle for a Silvia/Rocky, but actually know what to do with both of them and don't miss the equipment I once had one bit. I know how to make the absolute best of any machine/grinder placed in front of me. Just because you can't do anything decent with a Rocky or similar grinder is a sign of you being a newbie. Don't waste my time with anymore dumb ass comments.
