  • Are you looking for tips on understanding others better and their behavior? If psychology has taught us anything, it’s that people are complicated. While there’s no quick and easy way to assess a person’s true character and motivations, there are a few tips and tricks that can help you gain insight into someone's mind. We've made a list of a few things you didn't know that can tell you a lot about someone. If you're interested in things like human behavior and body language, we've recently released a video on body language. You can check that out after this video: • 19 Things Body Languag...

    A note about eye contact: People with ADHD, such as myself, MAY sometimes find it difficult to focus on what your saying if we are making eye contact rather than looking elsewhere or looking around. This is not true for everyone with ADHD, however it is true for some, so I just wanted to let you all know that, just so you know there are other causes for lack of eye contact.

      @maritabotha Před 3 lety +16

      Yes. I also find that my Aspergers friend doesn’t make eye contact, yet is fully engaged in the conversation. I found this uncomfortable, but once my friend was diagnosed, it made perfect sense.

      @dawn-from-the-lab Před 2 lety +8

      I have ADHD and I struggle with knowing how much eye contact is too much. It feels weird after a few words and I need to look away, but you’re right, it can definitely be easier to focus when not directly looking at the person talking to you.
      I do the same thing when finding veins on patients in the hospital. I rarely look at their arms and hands until I clean them and actually go to stick. My fingers feel the veins easier when I’m not watching them. Lmao

    • @eveesucubus653
      @eveesucubus653 Před rokem +10

      I came here to say that this works only in neuro typical people, with people ADHD and people in the autistic spectrum you might confuse the lack of eye contact with lack of interest. I’ve learned to mostly mask this, but I’d rather not look people in the eye, so actually I have less eye contact with people I’m more comfortable with and I mask it so well that people I just met no longer notice this

People do these various things for several reasons, i.e. the crossing arms, doesn't always mean defensive, it can also be boredom, or just self control whilst waiting, as the person doesn't succumb to their child like desires to have to be entertained or engaged at all times, it's a great way to keep from touching things in a public place, which is something most people should learn to practice.

    #5 is so completely true! I've always utilized this to see how people really are. If they're rude to servers in any way shape, form, or fashion then I'll never go out with them again because I used to be a server. I know exactly how hard that industry is! So when I see a server I see myself and professional colleagues. I cannot stand to go out with ungrateful entitled rude people! THAT is the quickest way to make me stop hanging out with you and just dealing with you in general.
    My bad. I didn't mean to make a hard left turn and start a rant. I'm deeply passionate about #5. That's all. Take care. (Smile)

    Body language and irrational behaviors can also be signals of deeper issues, of pain ect. This video is great for signals of possibility but more important, I believe is an overall pattern.
    The irony is not lost on me of impression though, I took care of people in pain for thirty years and now have chronic back pain.
    I have had people literally confront me with being "restless" in my seat when I am actually shifting because of discomfort. Several days of chronic pain can also seriously affect mood. I have been on both sides of this one now. But overall if people I took care of had a good disposition their sharpness was never horrible and regret usually followed. I have definitely found this one to be true for me.

Didn’t your mother teach you to PUT BACK what you’ve used after you’re done with it, it’s common decency and respect.” He said ‘F U’ and drove off. Surprisingly he came back 5 min later and said, “ I thought about tilt for a minute, and you were right.” (Felt good to be right😏) but I was more impressed he came back just to put the cart back 👍🏻

Anyway, just spend time with people, a first impression is always just that! Eventually, you will get into some kind of setting that just isn't all comfortable for anyone involved (nope don't do ther hairdresser's expedition to the Everest ;)) - when people are more concerned then about how to cooperate, and/or find agreement, rather than believing they are the most important individual, and/or only keeper of "the truth" on this planet, that is certainly a start to figure out how they actually tick.

Now people don't have to get out of their car to move it. But you're making the caddie's job harder by not returning them where they belong. They don't belong on the side. The caddie is supposed to collect the carts from the returns and use their machine thingy (I dunno what it's called but it creates a cool Slither-like chain of carts!) to put them back inside the store. Think about how annoyed they would be to have to run a marathon across creation to find lost carts. Especially if it was raining! I don't know if they ever do this in the dark but that has to be frustrating, too.

If it's possible for someone like me who has to sit down every few steps while in the store due to pain to put carts away, it's possible for everyone else. 😊
