    Just did my 2011 F250 yesterday, with a little help from this video. I would add that the front bolts from the downtube are 13mm and a swivel and an extension bar will zip the outside one off easily. The 3 rears are 15mm and are a PITA. Trying not to snap them is the best advice, because hammering out the old studs and replacing with bolts isn't as easy as it sounds. With some of the wiring, it's easier to pop the clips off the frame to bring the connector down to where you can reach it and undo.

    I appreciate you taking the time to make this video. In some states where there are emissions testing, we will have to put the dpf back on to pass. If I were to delete my truck would it be easy to put the dpf back on? Would I need to put the stock tune back on? Would it throw any errors?

    • @darkirondiesel
      @darkirondiesel  Před 5 lety +4

      Emon Kandahari if you just install the delete pipes like I show in this video and don’t break any electrical connections it should be relatively easy to put the DPF system back in the truck. You will need to reprogram the truck back to the factory programming or else you risk doing damage to your engine. Just when you buy a programmer make sure it saves the stock file so you can return it to stock if need be. If you don’t have the stock file you can install the DPF system then drive the truck directly to the dealership and have them flash your truck back to stock setting. Hope this helps!

      ATLANTA require emissions testing. But not in a truck this size. It’s the weight that makes you not have to test it.

      I know everyone likes to sell there shit they take off…. SAVE IT!! If you ever want to sell your truck, most dealers won’t take them and make you sign a waiver that your your truck is in compliance with some air act. I’m sure lying, is punishable under federal law since its emissions related. So make it easy on yourself and save your parts for reuse at trade in or sale.

    I wanted to double check and make sure I don’t have to remove the egr cooler and just have to unplug it? A lot of videos are showing people removing it when doing a dpf delete and putting on a tuner. If I can just unplug the egr instead of removing it that would save time and I would rather do that. Any ideas or opinions?

    Hi Darkiron, I have a 2011 Powerstroke since 2012 , bought it low k's here in Toronto, in 2013 Ford did a recall on such truck,, took it to the stealership they did I don't know what to it, AND ever since then my truck never asked again for DEF or regenerated the DPF. Now after about 10 years got the Elight came on, I diagnosed it and replaced the reductant injector , then again light on DEF contamination ( bowled ) and then now I'm limited to 88 km/h. After all this I just don't trust the stealership and refuse to go back to them. I just want to tune/delete DPF. Please can you tell me what's the best way to do this. ? Thanks

    I have a 2014 F.350. my truck is stuck at a dealership in limp mode because of a DEF Fault, if I have the tuner to delete, can I just unplug everything and drive it home then finish installing the straight pipe and egr delete? I know that's not the preferred method but would it be okay? And do you have to take the sensors out and plug them back into the harness or can you just leave them all unplugged?

    • @darkirondiesel
      @darkirondiesel  Před 3 lety +1

      Yes you can go tune it and drive it home, as long as home isn’t more then 100 miles away. After 100 miles you risk engine damage. You don’t even have to unplug anything at the dealer, just tune it and drive it home and once home unplug it all and remove it. As for the sensors you just unplug them all. Leave the sensors in the exhaust.

    • @darkirondiesel
      @darkirondiesel  Před 3 lety +2

      It’s actually really easy on these trucks. First of all, unbolt the hanger from the frame at the front of the exhaust (2 13mm nuts) and then go to back of dpf, use a pry bar and pry them off, then go to the two hangers at the front and do the same thing. Spray them down with WD40 or another lube product, it helps them slide off easier.

    • @darkirondiesel
      @darkirondiesel  Před 5 lety +2

      I don’t thing there is such thing as a DPF back exhaust, and even if there was, the DPF muffles all the sound of the truck so putting a bigger tail pipe on wouldn’t sound any different and it wouldn’t flow any better either because of all the DPF filters. But to answer your question, if you just modified the exhaust after the DPF filter and installed a cold air intake no you would not need to tune it, as long as you leave the DPF fully Intact.

    • @darkirondiesel
      @darkirondiesel  Před 4 lety +1

      The tune disables the egr, then you unplug it to make sure it’s disabled. The egr valve (as long as it was working properly) will remain closed once you tune the truck. Theoretically it shouldn’t be letting any exhaust back into the engine but guys remove the egr for peace of mind and for looks. Welp. Figured that one out already. Lmao.
      Yeah I bought it running in performance mode always. No tuner in my possession. Needed to tow bobcats and such. Didn’t realize that I “reset codes” didn’t mean bypass codes. Lol. Got a minimaxx and it runs well. Worse mileage, same speed. But now I have sotf.
      I’ll check your insta.
