I'm in Yr 9 but I'm really scared, I wanna go to Cambridge but my parents aren't that rich so my only option left is to get a scholarship somehow. My sciences are good but I've only been getting b's for maths. English isn't my first language either, so I'm probably gonna flop the interviews.

Lewis T I worked extremely hard to get into my uni, which wasn't Cambridge. Accommodation was overpriced and not worth it at all.
I guess also because Cambridge has a large pool of funds from alma maters (?)

5 years later and I decided to come back to view these vlogs again. I started uni at the same year as you but unfortunately dropped out due to personal reasons. I just finished my first year now and reminisced about the times I watched all these Cambridge vlogs with you, Joe binder and Ibz Mo and my dream of always attending Cambridge, but I’m content and it makes me happy to watch you vlogs and makes me feel part of it all :)

at first I thought an empty room would just be a large empty cuboid with a bed in the corner but there are shelves and desks and everything; this is so nice! I'm feeling a bit more motivated to work hard and make it to Cambridge

Hugh Mungus only about 30% of undergrads come from private schools 😊 much less than the perceived notion that everyone who gets into oxbridge comes from a private school.

Your room looks sooo good. Do all rooms at Camebridge look like this? Compared with those from the U.S. where ppl share one room and even more share one bathroom, this is amazing
Cambridge is special. Standard UK university rooms are usually much smaller and don't come with a comfy chair. Most uni accommodation don't allow fridges/ freezers in a room unless you are diabetic and need to keep your insulin in there. The kitchen she showed will likely be shared by 4-7 people. It's not common in the UK to have a roommate. Rooms are single occupancy (thankfully! )

I might have a tip for you. If you put your refrigerator and freezer top of each other, you have a little more space. If I’m right they can hold it. I do this as well.

Well, I'm from Ireland so I dont have a clue what to do! But specifically the second personal statement and the high school transcript
In the extra personal statement part I think I wrote about some other bits that I had done or was specifically interested in, perhaps in more detail! I also related it to the course to show I had an understanding of the tripos. Hope that helps!

This was so weird for me, I've literally grown up at Cambridge uni (queens) and it was sorta surreal seeing it from someone else's point of view😂
