  • Welcome to another episode in my Ultimate World Coin Search series, a group of videos where we unbox a half pound of mixed foreign and world coins from all over the world! For this series, I bought some world coin lots and then paid a lot of extra money to supplement it with a better mix... and it certainly has been showing! There has been a good amount of silver, older foreign coins, and really cool countries that I haven't seen coins from before. Hope you enjoy this series of videos as much as I did while I was making it!

Hi, within British coinage the R is part if the royal cypher. R stands for either Rex or Regina. Latin for king or queen, respectively.

100% agree with the relief on coins. Post-war German coinage had great detail on their 1,2,4,5, and 10 mark pieces. And again, your German pronunciation is On Point! 😂🤣. And I’m pretty sure the Israeli coin is shekels and Russian coin was kopeks.

The German 5 Mark 1969 F (Stuttgart mint) says "Einigkeit und Recht und Freiheit" (Unity, Justice and Frredom) on the edge. That is the first line of the modern German National Anthem. Most of these issues after 1964 or so are worth melt value but the 1958 J (Hamburg mint) is worth hundreds of dollars. The Irish penny to look for is the 1940. It looks exactly like the 1968 that you have - the 1968 is the commonest year since they meade about 30 million of them. Still a nice large copper though. I've been collecting US and world coins for over 50 years.

Hello Christian. I'm a new numismatist and I would like to see how you store your coins. Perhaps an idea for a future video. Thanks.

Some interesting finds, Christian! Your coin from Iceland has no real value, but that uncirculated 1952 British halfpenny does. In MS-60, it's about a $10 coin, and yours looks better than that.
