  • The Strange Fastest Bomber to Ever Fly
This bomber was the fastest of its kind during its time. It filled the sky with sonic booms and fiery flights and challenged the average human mind with its incomprehensible speed.
Developed by the US Air Force, the XB-70 was the biggest, meanest, fastest, and most advanced bomber the USAF developed in the 1950s and continued to expand ripples all over aviation community up to this day.
Today, we will all be talking about that in our video.

there's a strange bug in today's "philosophy" of repeating certain things twice.

The order of the Valkyrie wasn't until the 60's. Paper planes don't count as real. It looked totally different once it was actually made.

I actually saw an XB70 flying over my home in the mid 1960s. I didn't know what it was and only found out later what it was. It was flying at a high altitude and had 4 escorts.

Very nice footage and pictures, but; 1st, it was in the 1960's, not the 50's. 2nd, the agregate total installed thrust was not 5 times the aircraft weight; 180,000 lbs. thrust with aircraft weight of almost 500,000 lbs. 3rd; SA-2 Guidline missles, and a whole slew of newer models tried in vain to bring down operational SR-71's for years- none were ever brought down by hostile fire. Lastly, the Kennedy admistration did not kill the XB-70; that was Secdef Macnamerra during the Johnson adminisration. Still, a good video.

Absolutely amazing that we had the technology to fly that high and fast 60 years ago without the aid of computers, that is when America was great!

An incredible aircraft of the 1960s, ambitious and costly,if not for the tragic accdent in the mid 60s who knows what it could have achieved!

It always made me think of a sea monster with the forward canards. It was supposed to ride it's own shockwave at Mach 3,which made it highly unstable in anything but level flight. With the collision of the F-104, they only had one left. Now at the Air Force Museum. Can you imagine trying to do evasive maneuvers in this?

That would've been too heavy and the turn radius would've been too large. It's a very magnificent and fascinating aircraft tho ngl

Agreed. Complicated words, like anything with more than one syl-la-ble, seem to puzzle the poor reader.

Let's face it, the Soviets, being beat on aircraft, answered with the ICBM, making the XB-70 obsolete before it ever got into production. But the clincher for the program was an aerial collision with an F-104 that got too close to the XB--70 during a photo-op.

The XB-70 was an amazing achievement for its time and I was looking forward to a new video but then we got this awful AI created and narrated junk.
