Beck is a monster player. Always an innovator and some of what he does, no one else can do. Beck was so very unique. Glad I got to see him three times, twice close up which was very important because he is doing so much with his hands that goes unnoticed if you aren't close up. One of my all-time favorites.

Saw JB after the release of BBB and again following Wired when he joined Jan Hammer who was the back up band and killed it for another 2 hours of nirvana...caught this tour with Simon saw him again 3 times on the SRV double bill and then was lucky enough to catch him with Jennifer Batten(another JB) twice....he was absolutely ridiculously better every time...this man took the guitar places its never been...There and Back you might say...and never will go again...he never stopped innovating, never stopped pushing his limits, the limits of what was conceivable, possible on a six string...he absolutely wrenched sounds forth from a piece of wood that will never be heard again... except when the listener is fortunate enough to listen to these gems saved for eternity...an alien technique unknown to any other mere mortal on this planet, he will never be equalled...never bested.
The best forever ♾️ rest easy JB, we will never forget you.

Thanks for sharing, nice to see the performances from different shows. I made it to the Cow Palace concert. I’d strongly suspected Jeff was my favorite electric guitarist. He sealed the deal that night.
After he passed I counted up the times I was fortunate to see him live: 19 concerts over 50 years beginning in August 1972 with the second Jeff Beck Group and ending in 2022 on his final tour. All eras of his live bands except the first Jeff Beck Group bc I didn’t drive yet -and of course the Yardbirds. Still a decent amount of shows considering he took a section of the 1980s and most of the 90s off…or at least didn’t tour. Thankfully he toured regularly again in the new millennium (actually beginning in 1999) and we fans were blessed with many chances to experience his live magic as he amazingly played better than ever and continued to move the needle on what was possible on guitar.
I still think of him every day. For me, the last guitar hero. RIP

This is so great…I only saw Jeff once, mid nineties,….what I will never forget is his tone, of the hundreds of shows I’ve seen he had the best guitar tone bar none…and that is from his hands and touch, just amazing, like a choir of angles from heaven with just any one random note, lyrical, passionate, articulate, unique, and huge….recordings and you tube reproduction will never come close….those who have seen him live I’m sure will agree

I was only 23 when this was filmed and a better concert than these I have never seen. I am 64 now and I listen to Jeff almost every day! Simon Phillips is one of the great drummers Jeff worked with. He is peerless. He is also the drummer with Jeff and Eric Clapton on the Amnesty gig - check out Cause We've Ended As Lovers on that one. I was a drummer back then but did not know who Simon Phillips was until I heard him in 1984 on a Nik Kershaw album. I saw Jeff twice in Milan in 1989 and he was fierce. This ARMS concert is special because Jeff is so relaxed. He even pulls off a show stopping Hi Ho Silver Lining (which Jeff hated) and check out Simon's drum solo. To say there has never been a better guitarist is to state the obvious, Jeff Beck, Jimi Hendrix and Jimmy Page... the three Jays. Jeff went on getting better and better. Check out "18" with Johnny Depp. It will become a classic in time along with Wired and Blow by Blow. On this set The Pump and People Get Ready stand out. I am always shocked when I meet someone who loves music and doesn't know who Jeff Beck is (or was). If you love the trumpet there is Miles Davis, if you love harmonica there is Stevie Wonder. But if, as I do, you love the guitar... there is only one guy.. Jeff.

The first time I saw Jeff, it was this tour at the L.A. Forum. I had just recently discovered Jeff by trying to research my hero Page's work before Zeppelin. But I was unable to find any Page era Yardbirds, but I found Yardbirds featuring Jeff Beck, and I had just bought Blow by Blow. I loved it, but it was still very new to me. But I was there to see my HEROES! The Page from Zeppelin and the Clapton from Cream! Oh man, based on my expectations, I could have been really disappointed, because both Page and Clapton were so "messed up" that they sucked. But in between them, Mr. Beck blew me away with such an incredible performance, it more than made up for my disappointment with the other 2! He did "Goin' Down" with Paul Rodgers on vocals, and Jeff did things on the guitar that just aren't humanly possible. The very next day, I ran to the record store to buy the Jeff Beck Group "Orange" album. As fantastic as that studio version is, it's pale in comparison to what I heard and saw that night!
One thing that surprises me about this video is that he pretty much plays a Strat the entire time at each show. But he did not do that when I saw him. He may have played a Strat at the beginning of the set (I can't remember), but he played "Cause We've Ended as Lovers" on what I at first thought was a Les Paul, because it had humbuckers, but I think it was the actual "Tele-Gib" that Seymour Duncan had built for him (he used it on the studio version of "Cause We've Ended as Lovers") and traded for Beck's Esquire from his Yardbirds days. Anyway, I think once he put it on for that song, he just finished the whole set with it, because that's what he was playing for "Going Down", which was the finale. The guy never needed a whammy (it just makes it a little bit easier)! I saw him and heard him do it, and THAT is what left my jaw on the floor...

Definitely this is Not in the US- as Jan Hammer replaced Tony Hymas. Joe Cocker replaced Stevie Windwood and Paul Roger's was added. Ron Wood made an unannounced appearance although he is pictured on the bootleg Tshirt. So we had 2 members of the Jeff Beck Group, 2 Small Faces, 3 Stones ( 1/2 the Forthcoming Firm). I used to boast " It cost me $20.00 for 17 Artists. Lanes MS went away when his lead teeth fillings were replaced by plastic ones but he died of complications. The videocassette and dvd aren't available from this show and there wasn't an official LP release. I know about the Radio Station Only Release- have it on cassette. I love my Dec 8, 1983 show. 2 year anniversary of Lennons death so Cocker thought it would be appropriate to perform With a Little Help From My Friends- s 10:35 ince Jimmy Page played on his 1968 version! Btw- this concert on YT was shown in clubs in 1983. I wonder if this performance here is Dec 8??btw- this was my first concert where I saw " the big screen" on stage

The crazy thing was Jimmy Page. They left an empty spotlight on the stage at Madison Square Garden for maybe 10 minutes before he walked into it. The crowd was going insane and when Jimmy finally appeared it seemed like the roof just got blown right off the building, the crowd was so amped up. Then Jimmy played out of tune, and he wasn't very good. Paul Rodgers sang with him. Ron Wood and Bill Wyman played. Joe Cocker. I remember it all.

Who’s the guy in the blue coat singing on Hi Ho Silver Lining? His name escapes me. Hyphenated name, before hyphenated names were a thing.
