Cooper Tire in Tupelo,MS is now Goodyear since the merger or buyout. My son works there: They have taken down all the Cooper Tire signs and replaced them with Goodyear signs. They do manufacture both brands just FYI. Enjoyed your video!

I really appreciate your channel. Thanks for all of the information both here and at your website. I need to buy tires and my Dad always told me to buy American. But, I knew that was even harder to do nowadays. You really cover it. I've written it all down. Great work! One comment: the background music is distracting. Probably only me who thinks that..

Thanks for the comment! So glad it was helpful. Check out some of our newer videos and let me know what you think - I adjusted the audio level to reduce the background music volume a bit.

I’ve had good experiences with Cooper, I’m wanting to get the Discoverer AT3 on my truck when the time comes. I’ve had some American-made Yokohama’s that performed well. One thing people should beware of as well is that just because a tire is expensive does not mean that it’s made in the U.S.A. I’ve saw tires made in Vietnam, Thailand, Korea, etc that were not very cheap. I always want to get American-made tires regardless of brand and thankfully unlike many other things there are plenty of options out there for us.

Yeah, there is a difference between tires made in the USA, and tires made in the USA by US Owned companies. Regardless, I still go out of my way to find US Made/Manufactured products, even those made in the US with global components.
However, you left out one of my favorite tire companies, B.F. Goodrich( Uniroyal). Although they are still Made in the USA, they were bought out by Michelin in 1990. However, like I said, they are still Made here.
    Sub'd.

First, what TIN is the U2 I see on your vid? Can't find that designation. Second, it seems like a person always has to check TIN "AFTER" the new tire is already on the car. You can, I guess, tell the installer that you know full well what TIN's are USA (and that you also know how to check the age - important as well) but I'm concerned a little that once they are on the car you might have trouble correcting the situation if they're not right. Of course then you know for sure never to go back there again.

Looking for American made ST Trailer tires. It's so confusing and most tires don't have country of origin label (COOL). I think we need new COOL laws that require that all products sold in USA to have country of origin stated clearly, whether sold in a store, from a catalog, or online.

Why are Dick Cepek tires even listed here? They went out of business 20yrs ago lol. I also like how all of the US tires in the list are all owned by Goodyear now. Would be nice to see Firestone listed as it is not owned by Goodyear and, to my understanding, is an American company.

Hey James, Nitto is indeed a Japanese company (owned by Toyo Tire). They do produce some of their tires in US plants though, so make sure to check the DOT code on the tire. They also make their tires in countries like Japan, China, and Malaysia.

Shouldn't have to look up a code! It should have country of origin clearly labeled on each tire!
