The F-14 was an air superiority fighter with its first flight occurring on 12/21/70 and serving from 9/22/74-9/22/06. During that time the “Tomcat” pioneered new technology and defended America's fleet. The F-14 used a record breaking Radar system that was the best in the world up until the F-22's APG-77. The top speed of the aircraft mach 2.34 while being able to achieve an altitude of 55,000ft, Powered by 2 huge Pratt and Whitney TF30-P-412A producing 20,900 Lb/f of static thrust each, however due to issues with these engines, later F-14B models were equipped with more modern General Electric F110-GE-400 with 27,000 Lb/f of force each. Overall the F-14 was a huge technological breakthrough in aviation and easily is one of the best aircraft ever made.
