You need to bind the motor to the ESC. All the AXE systems are that way and you can't do that from the app.
I was thinking the same thing.
I have the hobbywing max 5 in my dbxl-e 2.0 and it has that hesitation on start. I went through the binding process and it didn't help.

Lower kV only gives you more torque per Amps, but a lower kV motor(same size) also uses less amps.
So when you power the system according to the space sheet, they'll have the same toque.
What are you talking About ? Kv is a measure of rpm per volt if the motor would be used as a generator..... higher kv more speed less torque thatâs all ..... donât pull amps into this .... current has nothing to do with this

Two equal motors with the main difference being kV will produce the same toque.
And it's calculated using Amps, not voltage.

If I had one I'd put the vitavon/treal axle housings and make it like an icelandic hill climber. Got some good hills my way, just go flat out up em, roots, rocks and all
Ive got the same system in my ryft running on a 15t pinion. And the 2 speed cable tied into first. Its spot on for heavy duty crawling
I have a few treal upgrades on my maxx and they are really nice parts. Machined nicely and fit perfect. Nice to see they not only make good quality parts, but they change the design a bit for the better on some of them.

Kevin, that seems close to the same delay I used to have with my senton when new. Ended up being the radio system. I changed the receiver to work with my DX5c and all the problems went away.
This!!! Spectrum radios that come with the senton 3s and other arrma stuff are soooo laggy

Easiest way to deal with hairloss is with a Cordless Wahl clipper. I trim back to 1mm every Sunday ^^

Turn off the FOC throttle match in the esc setup.. I think that's the reason of the delay and smoothness.

I went with the Tekin RX4/2300HD combo. Great setup. real slow control, and with a 15t pinion as fast as stock on the 17t.
I give you a ton of credit for not giving up on the Ryft. This is why you have the best RC channel. You may need to install the 2 speed conversion but I heard that has had issues with shifting and the servo setup.
With the Spektrum systems, the delay is either how many milliseconds you bound it at. If you already have it bound at 11 Ms, then your delay is in the neutral position on your throttle. If you up your throttle trim to just below where it starts moving on it's own, you should be good.
its not that sort of delay, the esc takes ages to ramp up, its like the punch has to go up but theres no option to do it that i can see
@@KevinTalbotTV ohh, you are referring to the throttle curve. Probably a combination at both the neutral position of the throttle as well as the throttle expo. It's been quite some time since I fine tuned a hobbywing system, but look up something that relates to throttle curve or exponential

That now looks absolutely awesome, Kev have you thought the delay might be down to the transmitter and receiver, bit like the first crappy spektrum ones on the arrma.. the axes systems are meant to be one of the best around unless you got a lemon one..

Throttle Increase Rate: 9 !!! Highest Setting. Try Rate 1---> a lot of delay like an old automatic car. 9 is for instant Power.

Did you check if the esc was going into reverse when going forward ? Then there will probably be a delay.

Kev you should have a look at what Joe from Exocaged Rc did to his mate, he's got a lot of Vitavon upgrades bit he uses it as a basher on 4s. All the best.
The grease in the syringe is actually a very good idea! Prevents it from making a mess trying to pack the gears

Allo Kev, good video, itâs so close to being this epic best of both worlds creation but definitely have to get rid of delay, but I loved it jumping over the other crawler going through the course. Had a great summer of RCing out here on the west coast of Canada. I think you would love it. Unbelievably sunny all of June and July and carrying on into August tons of skateparks and natural terrain. Hope youâve had a wicked summer too. Iâm wondering how game over is coming along. I remember you started to get some parts but not many updates. I thought your bald commercial was good. It looked like you had been using some of the stuff as your hair looked bigger and bushier than Iâd ever seen it.lol please be careful letting Stemp help you with that motor. Heâs great at runaways or blowing stuff up but hoping this little gem is a performer. It almost looks like that one you guys already ran. That was cool hopefully this is even better ps donât be afraid to put in some helicopter video too. I love watching a good pilot and you are a good pilot!

The ryft is not built for crawling or high speed. It is designed for bursts of high wheel speed and relatively low speeds. This is used to bounce up very steep hills. If you search on CZcams "rock bouncer competition" you can see what the real ones do to get an idea of what axial was trying to mimic. I personally find mine always breaks on 4s but is alight when using on 3s for the intended purpose. In my personal opinion it's a very niche truck that requires specific conditions, however if you have the niche then it's great fun right out of the box but with your upgrades it's particularly great lol.

The only thing I can think of when it comes to the throttle response is the settings on the transmitter.
If your transmitter has multiple model memory the make sure that you're not using the setup for a different vehicle.

ha kev you said it i think, "reverse is instant" would maybe mean you are using reverse for forward. the slow ramp up of the speed would be punch control likely. my experience is with older hobbywing systems.
