This was one of my top 3 favorite episodes from this new season. Maybe one of my favorites out of all the seasons. It was absolutely stunning, from the story to the visuals. When Martha asks the machine its purpose and it says "to know you" I get chills. It's comforting, almost. And it resonates with me on a level I can't really explain except to say I think the whole episode is so meaningful. The idea of dying but not; becoming a part of something bigger. Leaving your physical body but somehow preserving what makes you...you. I can't believe this episode is one of the lowest-rated ones on IMDB for season 3. I found it to be truly beautiful.
Bruh this is shittiest episode from the series. What a shame.
If you like this then ghost in the shell is right up your alley
One of my favs of the series as well. Prob the one I have watched the most now.
ITS BEAUTIFULL!!😢
I agree with everything you’ve said here. It’s my favorite episode of the series and I can watch it over and over again. It moves me in ways I can’t exactly quantify or have the words to say.
The hallucination scene where the rocks are turning into dancing/ gesturing women was actually quite accurate for a psychedelic hallucination. I've seen it!
What kind of psychedelics you taking
@@GamesGamesAndMoreGames455he be taking the fear toxin
By far my favorite episode. A part of me is wishing I could also become a part of Io.
Io did seem like a benign entity. I'm thinking that being absorbed there would be amazing.

Might be possible one day. Unfortunately creating an ASI safely is a much more difficult problem then it appears at first glance.
Loved this!!! This episode gave me a bit of an existential crisis 😅
Please do Jibaro next!! It was my favorite of Season 3!
Thank you Apostate! That's the one I definitely plan on doing next!
@@BryceEdwardBrown can't wait for it
The amount of details and scientific accuracy this film needs to put in to create this alien world as accurate as possible... elusive, creative yet largely comforms to how IO would really looks like (sulphur floodplains, sulphur spire/volcano, blue molten sulphur lakes, sulphur flakes drifting, sulphur crystal, etc.. and Jupiter as the background... only thing i think is less accurate could be the gravity.
This was the episode that after I ended it, I needed like 10 minutes to absorb what I just saw and then got so excited that I got the privilege to watch this episode ❤️
Interesting.. wouldn't have known about all the ties to real world poetry pieces. This is the type of content I come to CZcams for.
So glad to hear Broderick Fall! I put everything I have into these videos
The prelude... I have reread it many times now and some of its parts still elude me. It remains one of my favourite (epic) poems to date
Finally LDR! That ep. rly left me a feel that it was more profound than what I undrstd. 👌
Right?! You know it's good when you don't fully understand it but you still really appreciate it!
Same my fave
Subscribed! You have such a beautiful way of explaining that makes my soul sing. Well done, well done!
its interesting that the jurnay is trough sulfur, so a metaforical jurney troug the alquimical simbol of pain
Dang that sneeze got me hahahaha. Love the breakdown and explanation. Brings so much insight to the episode and answers a lot of questions.
The amount of complexity and effort they put into this one episode really leaves me in AWE!😢
Thanku for making this AMAZING video❤❤❤
You did a really fine job there , friend! I have recommended that piece of animation to folks I know as one of the finest I've ever seen. It is simply beautiful.
Thank you for your thoughtful analysis. Take all the time you need, brother!
Yay ! You finally made a ldr season 3 review. I enjoyed your previous reviews on season 1 and 2 and was waiting for your take in season 3. Are you going to make bad travelling or jibaro next? I want to see your interpretation on it.
Thanks for watching Melody! I would love to get to those episodes, I'm hoping this video picks up traction so I can justify dedicating a lot of time to those!
This was one of the greatest short stories i ever watched, I was mesmerized the whole time. Loved it! The rest of the series is incredible also. Masterpiece in my opinion!
10:04 fun fact: romanticism is super popular in danish history discussions and teachings, since hc anderson, among other famous danish artists, is from that period. it focused heavily on youth, innocence, nature, god and a connection to the natural. therefore, farmers are often depicted in danish romantic art pieces since they have deep connection to plants and nature. depictions of god were often done by having churches in the background, breaking up the flat landscape that a normal danish painting would suffer from.
Farmers by definition have limited respect for plants which they grow and harvest (kill), gardeners maybe more connected, still their connection should also be limited. For farmers plants are primarily food, wood and renewable resources.. So Danish romantic school maybe seeing a connection where it doesn't necessarily exist. It's like imagining connection between butchers and cows, though I don't rule it out either.
@@elchinpirbabayev5757A gardener has strong connotations of loving and caring for flora. A farmer respects the crop that provides him with food, and the means of making a living, the crop he, or she, puts long dedication and a nto supporting and cultivating. A butcher is given an animal, living or dead, or purchases it, then markets it to customers, butchering the meat and selling it.
Couldn't be more different, cool though that you're so much smarter than everyone and couldn't see that.
@@SStupendous butchers dealing with live mammals must either lose the connection or develop a meta connection to the animals he.kills to keep their psyche under a sanity check.. That's about butchers who at least do their own killing. Sooner or later you start thinking about the effects the killings has on one's soul. Then you start developing bonds with the animals. Farmers on the other hand have stronger connection to the land and other elements (weather, sun, water etc) that provides crops, not necessarily crops themselves.
@@elchinpirbabayev5757 I agree with all that
@@SStupendous Once we started to agree, I am going to push my luck a little further.
The connection between farmers and crops was probably romanticized by city "intellectuals" who understand only the food produce, and have never followed a plough dragged by the horse, never collected fruits and have no fucking clue of the sheer labour that goes in.
Bryce! Love your channel!! When will you do the rest of the episodes from season 3 of LOVE DEATH & ROBOTS?
Soon! And thank you Jim's Girl, I appreciate your support!
Man ... that was a deep immersion! Great job!
Thank you Joaquin Misa!
Wow, thanks. I feel like an idiot now for how little I understood about this before watching your breakdown.
I liked the images from this ep , very beautiful . It is very reminiscent of the Fishing Night episode. I think the ending was the prettiest part with the soundtrack in the background and her falling apart with the Jupiter image above... this episode was messy and drugs basically haha. but I liked the story. Good video 😃🌑🤖.
Finally bro the wait is over👍👍👍👍. Season 3 is awesome . I hope you'll do videos on ep 2 and the last one . LDandR videos are never enough for me😁😁😁😁😁 . Good job👍
Haha Thank you for waiting Clips Of Movies! More on the way, hopefully... Tell your friends!
This video is awesome, thanks!
everything is beautifully explained! great video.
but I really got hooked on the rave music in the background! name of track please ? 😅
Did i miss something or did you not talk about the last sentence : earth station, come in...
Because that was the part i was confused about

Loved this!
I love your analysis! Fan love from ghana ✌🏿
Thank you for the love Lambert!
Mindy in the Martian - About an a stranded astronaut trying to make their way across the barren landscape to survive.
Loved the trippy animation
Same!
Can I request you do Shape-shifters and The Secret War next?
Thanks for explanation
Glad you liked it Darshan!
@@BryceEdwardBrown Loved the explanation - but, matey, it was trippier than the episode! :)
That hole, it's like a highway, in her mind. That part was beautiful.
Great video on an interesting episode!
Thank you! 🥹
10:39 the most beautiful sneeze ever 😅
1:15 Dude , you forgot she also played Cameron Howe in Halt And Catch Fire. How can you overlook that ;-)
Oh gosh haha I should probably just delete the video
@@BryceEdwardBrown At this level of blunder I would consider to delete the channel :-P
You have a cute sneeze
Honestly this episode blew me away!
The way I look at it, is that she actually died by end of it. She did say it's better to die while on dr*gs and that's what the dr*gs did to her mind. So she died being heavily dr*gd. It was also her brain fighting till the last moment to keep her alive and you know how they say life flashes before you eyes when you're dying. I think this whole process was her mind talking to her through hallucinations, trying hard till the last moment to keep her alive. This whole magical world was a product of her last moments and dr*gs combined, we just got see her last moment through her eyes, instead of what actually happened.
Law of One
"And you will come to see, that we are all one mind "
Um im kinda confused could you explain?
I took a bunch of shrooms and had the trip of my life. Rewatched this episode 7 times in a row back 2 back
gave you the thumbs at the 2:06 mark cuz punz man!great job overall!
Haha thank you RUMBLE!
Can you explain Archiv81?
“Peanut butter and jealous” wow I never heard that one before but I love it 😂🤣 I gotta use that one day
The way i interpreted, was the io reprsented more like our universe, and that how we are part of it, not like an alien mission. I could be wrong.
This my fav episode of series on adventure and spiritual journey level
The morphine for pain and the amphetamine for more energy. Morphine doesn’t really cause hallucinations.
I get morphine at the hospital because of a firewound. And yes...it gave me hallucinations. Everything floating around me and iam instantly happy. Feels warm and so "underwater".
@@rantanplan1633 It was not hallucinations , morphine take good mood not hallucination, mushroms, LSD give.
@@rantanplan1633 that’s not hallucinations but being in bliss
This is my top favorite episode of the series
Wow! Trippy McTripsville! Don't watch this when very stoned. Or rather, DO watch when very stoned. Beautiful, both visually and story-wise.
Gawjuss!
So io is a literal jupiter brain right? I hope theatparallel was intentional in the narrative
This was my favorite from this season....
Just finished watching this episode and I'm like pppppfffffff...it's deep!!
the fact that i heard "im gonna sneeze" DIRECTLY AFTER I SNEEZED made me turn around thinking someone was in my house lmfaoooo
Wow, I already really like this episode. But now it even more enjoyable
Have you ever watched tarkovsky's "solaris"?
One of my favorite films!
This is my favourit episode out of the entire show and I am tired of pretending its not
Lol same!
If its your favourite then it's your favourite. Don't let any one bully you into saying that it's not.
Morphine doesn't make you hallucinate. Neither does a single injection of amphetamine.
Some people react that way to iv morphine. Apparently my grandpa started hallucinating when he was given morphine after one of his surgeries. I wouldn’t know about amphetamine, but I’ve heard that morphine story so many times over the years that I have third hand anecdotal evidence 😂 (although I’m sure it wouldn’t be that hard to find medical documentation of people having that reaction to morphine).
It does cause hallucinations in some people. It's not a common side effect but it's something i encountered several times when i worked in an Emergency Room. There are several studies that also determined that it causes hallucinations in a subset of people
@@enadegheeghaghe6369 You got a link to these studies?

@@BryceEdwardBrown Your Shizznet my dude!!!! 🤣👌
Do details on the magneto sphere and the tribo electric where so wel Research b.t.w.
I'm surprised LDR isn't as popular as Umbrella Acad or ST
I don't think you understand how important that sneeze was for the explanation.
😂
When she first crashes she calls out to Burton but pronounces it, burden!
I saw this high.... crazy shit i must say...
I’d rather see more artistic and introspective stories adapted in LD+R more so than edgy, ultra violent, dick-ridden power fantasies.
fucking beautiful. Thank you so much !
Best episode ever
My favorite of the season!
Lots of comments saying this was their favorite episode... did they only watch this one?
Watched all of them. This one brings me to tears all the time
I love long videos
We love to hear it!
I think it's all hallucinations
LF&R Season 3 was so much better than Season 2, but not nearly as good as Season 1
my list in order
Jibaro
Bad Travelling
Marsons Rats
Night Of The Mini Dead
Swarm
In Vaulted Halls Entombed
The Very Pulse Of The Machine
Three Robots
Kill Team Kill
I thought she took the drug and started hallucinating. Thats it
Mobile Intelligent Life Form: milf-😂
I'm a huge fan of The Incal, so...
More 💘 💀 🤖
Will do!!
i honestly thought it was boring and shallow as in, the idea's been explored before, and the show doesn't really give anything new. but that's just me
You mean jibaro? This isn’t that episode. That one sucked ass
I love this episode.
I do wish they would have gotten the pupil effect right. Opiates make your pupils go PIN 📌 sized dots. Not saucers.
Or unless the morphine was tainted with LSD....well that would explain literally everything
I got high by seeing this episode!
Burton is very dead lol. "She not dead, she's a zombie" zombies are literally dead
Very confusing episode and over the top space story. I didn't care for it. The story was stupid
This story was Crap.
Hate this episode
That's interesting - what was it about it that you weren't keen on?
Overated.
A reference-fest with no profound meaning.
At it's core, it's a sci-fi story about no one and nothing with no purpose or resolve at the end.
Not sure about that - but even if it was true, it did it BEAUTIFULLY! :)
bless you
You're too kind!
