@@tacodias No, VW was "luxury" brand out of VW, Seat, Skoda. Now VW is cheap interior and rolling back features that were present in previous generations. Golf 8 compared to Golf 7 and 6 looks awful and VW should be ashamed of charging 30% more for it
why is it that skoda is making more premium looking cars than vw lately
That has always been the case. Change my mind.
It's been that way for a long time. I own a mk2 Superb and it feels more premium than a Passat of that era
Personally I liked the design of the Passat B8 and B8.5 more.
Idk i drove both a 2017 golf and a 2017 octavia and i went with the octavia. It’s been amazing so far
because it began with herbert diess, the vw ceo before. he was a totaly tesla fanboy and want to go the same way: cheap interieur quality to save the cost with a good infotainment infrastructur. unfortunitaly, vw has not the same spirit and genius to make that happend like tesla...
For me it looks and feels much better than Tiguan inside and outside

Tiguan is a lower segment. Kodiaq is just higher segment
Tiguan Allspace competes with Kodiaq in Europe, Tiguan competes with Karoq. Is there a new Tiguan Allspace yet or will they continue with the older model?

I know this would never happen, but if VW just brought this to the U.S. market rather than a Tiguan it would be a serious hit. Plenty of space, decent quality, lots of tech, and a number of thoughtful features. I'd buy one if I could!
But it’s not a 10litre truck. USA people want a huge engine and inefficient cars. They usually send over a less efficient version.
@@joey-pn3xe Not everyone drives a truck. I can promise you this will outsell the Tiguan in the U.S. if they market it properly
VW is bringing a new Tiguan Allspace similar to Kodiaq soon. It will be called Tayron in other markets but in the USA that version will be the new Tiguan. But the interior will be same as newly launched Tiguan with no physical dials.

Well in the US they have the VW ATLAS.
Far away better looking than new tiguan and from exterior and interior also looks more premium!

All the exterior and the interior look great! Everything looks well-made and useful. As Czech I am proud that Škoda came with such a great car! I'm really looking forward to see the new Superb!

You don’t want too many, you’re there to drive not be in a disco! Mercedes go too far I think, this would be a nice amount. Those OLED displays in the dials and two screens would make some nice light inside too. I really like it also!

This is probably the most usable (and therefore best) interior of any european car released in last couple of years. Well done Skoda!
When this car looks more like a bmw than bmw itself nowadays
I think this interior is even better than the latest Audi, let alone VW. Lets hope this marks the return of proper physical controls.

Just have to love Skoda. We moved from land rover to skoda for my wifes car and couldnt believe the build quality difference (skoda being better) so struck where we that we decided to stick with skoda when time came to replace, opting for the Enyaq and what a car, so much better than VW!!
When my turn comes, i certainly will be interested in this, looks like another fab car!

I really like the thought that went in to it making sure the driver has great features that helps focus to be on the road, when others like BMW/MINI are being Tesla with stupid touch screens only making their cars less safe and more prone to crash. A very useable family car!!

Thinking about upgrading our Kodaiq we've had since 2017. Love the massive boot for camping trips. Love that I could use the new plug in hybrid to get free travel for work using home solar panels and battery storage. Hate it that this version doesn't have 4WD.... so I'll be getting the new Santa Fe.
Škoda is starting to make truly desirable cars, I cant wait for the RS.
I have Kodiaq RS 2023 - and I think it is a good progress. I look forward for the first look and drive

I quite like it. Still looks like a very solid and practical car. Interior design is nice, modern and more premium than before.
Thumbs up from me for the proper HVAC controls! Have owned Skodas in the past (Yeti, Octavia) so would definitely consider this for the future.
This looks much better than the Tiguan. More premium, and a timeless design. I like it, and would definitely consider the Kodak as a future purchase.

Do you believe that the revised instruments and controls layout will become standard across both the Superb and Octavia ranges? Clearly the previous software issues that you have identified, in particular with the Octavia VRS , have to be addressed such that the new control set up actually adds value in terms of driver benefit. An excellent first review and thank you.

Not too familiar with Skoda (as it doesn't exist in the US), but the team knocked it out of the park. Absolutely well done! The people over at the VW name brand need to take some notes!
Any idea about the ride comfort/quality compared to the new passat? Wont the big SUVs allways be a bit more stiff than say a sedan/stationcar?
Is the plug-in Hybrid version will be available with 7 seats or Only with 5 seats ? Not sure I understood as in some articles it’s says only in the 5 seats version

But the engines are really bad. The tiguan gets a wider range of engines with more power. 200 Hp for such a big car as top engine? No, thanks.

@@vitycz Right. The 1st generation Kodiaq RS has 180 kW ie 240 hp, it would be very strange for them to abandon RS in this generation. Many buy RS, like the Czech police did buy 300 of them or something.

I also have a question about the cockpit. I see that there is a piano black plastic around the LCD (not 10' lcd but cocpit with speedometer, etc.). Is it very reflective? Do you think it may me the issue? Thanks!
Best cars in the whole of VW Audi group. Excellent dealers are the icing on the cake. I'm on my 5th Skoda Superb, they keep getting and better.

Skoda Kodiaq is definitely one of the premium cars in the market and the features are all amazing.
Just that the climate unit at the rear seat could be enabled with physical dials instead of touch screen controls. There's every possibility that rear seat passenger's foot may hit the rear climate touch screen console. Also, the driver will have limited visibility on how the touch screen, behind is handled.
Skoda, thank you so much for leaving physical climate control tablets.

What a nice car. VW should put the person in charge of interior design in charge of the design for all their brands, as only Skoda seems to be able to create usable interiors that don't drive you crazy.
I disagree, the ergonomics of current-model Kodiaq is awful in many places. Armrest area is the worst - they should have just taken Audi's design.
Love the idea with the middle button. The one for drive modes and volume etc. Just simple and logical only needs a quick glance. Hate when you have to go through different menus in the infotainment. But I still prefer a swivel wheel instead of a touch screen.
Stunning interior, simple elegant and functional. Alas don't think my missus will let me upgrade our 1 year old kodiaq 😂

Good old outfit clash there 👍😂 I’m actually loving this and the fact the climate controls are separate from the infotainment. Definitely be upgrading to this model.

could You confirm that 7 seater phev is available? VAG had problems with this combo in Q7 for example where phev is on sale but only as 5 seater. I also think skoda wasted a chanse to make it as family friendly as possible by not using 2nd row with childsest tilt tech we can see in Touran and id Buzz lwb.

Nice Job! When to expect a test drive video on your channel with the new 2024 Kodiaq?
As the owner of the previous version in the top most configuration I may say I see some improvements, but also several steps back. I would never exchange my physical climate controls where I have direct access to almost all features (only the rear airco/seats are controlled form the menu when in the front seat). As for the infotainment - I have intentionally selected the lower version of the infotainment system with smaller screen to always have a physical knob for a volume control - the one on the steering wheel doesn't work when the ignition is off. Also the digital instruments are too bright in my opinion. At 8:55 you may see a big blue box in the background - how comfy this would be at night? I may say I like my existing setup where there is a minimum of background color used. What I like is minimum use of glossy black (so called piano black) surfaces in this version. In my L&K version there is too much of glossy black in the interior - it's always dirty either by fingerprints or dust particles.
Skoda are so premium now I think. I badly want one of these now.
You can actually edit how much functions the middle dial will have by simply holding and choosing on the display from selection. Super move from Skoda!

Interior looks very nice. Exterior is OK; perhaps a bit generic but It might grow on me when I see it in the metal. Seems that Skoda make nicer cars than VW these days.

Do you know total height or ground clearance of the new Kodiaq? Starts to look like an oversized caravan. Interior design is amazing, way better than the old one, but I am not sure about exterior. I don't like this "urbanisation" to say, I like it to be a bit more adventurous.
