- There is a first time for everything but if you don't try you will never know. This week I try a new technique for the very first time but I'm not sure this is going to work!.
This woodturning channel, explores the uses of wood when combined with resin, epoxy, to make woodturning projects, that are easy and can be classed as art. A lot of the wood turning projects I make can be completed by the beginner through to the more experienced wood turner. If you have any ideas for artwork, wood inlays, epoxy projects or any other wood turning projects please get in touch. Collaborations are always welcomes.

Very nice and useful little bowl.I like the 3 feet feature. It gives it some character
Thanks Peter, first time trying the feet and it was a lot of fun
I love the bowl, very well done. A member of my local turning club has made 3 legged bowls. A good amount of elbow grease to get the areas between the legs hogged out.
Another option to consider is a normal turned bowl, and then add 3 brass legs perhaps from small knobs. I have some small knobs I purchased for cribbage boards which would work well for this purpose.
I appreciate using this ash blank, since "Murphy" could have easily paid a visit.
Dave.
I did initially consider adding the feet but I've really wanted to try this for a while so just went for it. Completely amazed that neither murphy or any of his siblings were anywhere in sight. Thanks as ever Dave :)
Mike
Really nice little bowl Mike. Wonderful job on the feet and as usual the finish was perfect. I hope you are getting all settled in to your new home and shop!
Thanks, all settles into the house, just waiting for my shed builders to arrive so I can start to organise the workshop 😀
Ash never disappoints. Neither do you, come to think of it. I’ve seen videos of the three legged style. Pretty neat!
Aw shucks mate you're making me blush 😜 thanks Ted.
Enjoyed your willingness to try something new. Neat little bowl and good commentary throughout.
Thanks David, glad you enjoyed it, and thanks enormously for your support :)
Great inspiration for a newly started turner, many thanks.
Thanks David, I try my best to explain how things are done. This one went way better than I expected 😃
Super nice bowl with legs ! Also nice round carbide tool …… never have seen one that big in diameter. Great video.
Thanks! The tool was made for me by a viewer called Dave, it works so well :)
this video proves that you don't need expensive tools to make nice stuff.
Thanks Tim, really appreciate your comment and support. It really means a lot 🙏
Great, Japanese noodle bowl vibe. Love the feet.
Glad you like it! and it's food safe :)
I think it turned out very cute. I like the idea of the feet. It never dawned on me to use a Dremel the car about feet like you just did. My birthday was back in February and that’s when I got my lathe. So I’m very much a newbie. So for really enjoyed learning and I’m always watching to learn something different. I found your channel last week and I really appreciate you sharing your ideas. Thank you.
Thanks Lynda, so glad you are enjoying the hobby. Keep watching videos and practicing and you will learn fast, I
There are lots of groups on Facebook as well which I found very helpful when I started and still do. All the best, Mike
Nice piece of work, Sir! Your suggestion about "3 feet" is dead on. Whenever I run across something with 4... there is a wobble!
Thanks, the way wood moved even if you did get 4 to sit flat after a few weeks it would still wobble.
Nice clean bowl. Love the grain in Ash.
Thanks Robert, ash is always pretty nice.
Nice work. Thank you for sharing very clean look and straightforward design
Thanks Jude 🙂, appreciate your support and feedback 👍
Nice job, Mike
Thanks Mary 😀
Lovely bowl. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you too Jojo, I love your work as well. Loved your turbine bowl idea :)
Very cool little experiment 🙂
Thanks Philippa 😃
enjoyed watching you/your work.
Thank you very much!
G’day Mike,
Nice bowl, good to try new things and solve new problems. Yes I agree get outside finished before doing feet, but didn’t make much difference.
Well explained instructional video. You have a nice easy going way of explaining.
Keep up what you’re doing and thanks for sharing.
I will definitely make a 3 footed bowl in the future
Greg from down under in Oz
Hi Greg, many thanks for watching the video and taking the time to send your thoughts, it is very much appreciated. Good luck with your three footed bowl and please let me know how you get on. All the best, Mike
Really nice. Love watching you create. Thanks for sharing
Thanks so much Jaxx, I have not forgotten about our deal :)

Just let me know what size and colour and I can start it for you LOL
Like the color.
Ash is a beautiful wood 😊
EU gosto de ver este trabalho incrível BEM no capricho
Great show
I want to give this a go one day
Thanks Luie, it was not as hard as I had feared, quite the opposite in fact and loads of fun to boot :)
❤that is lovely ❤
Thanks Audie 😀
I'm always curious as to how you do not mess up your outside finish when you are completing the centre? Or do you? regardless, it is lovely as always :)
Hi Dee, you just be careful not to touch it, sometimes you need to do a little touching up of the finish but mostly it's fine and just needs a dust off 🙂
Lovely bowl, Mike.
Can't wait to see you make another one with feet.
I agree with @BritishBeeMan that it has noodle bowl vibes 🙂
Thank you for sharing 🤗
I'll be doing another set of feet in the next few weeks I think, hopefully anyway, I have plans for a very nice piece of wood I bought before I went on holiday 😀
Yippee! Can't wait 😊
@@fionacrouch1732 I do reserve my right to change my mind, it is still wrapped and I've not looked at it yet lol
Of course, anything will be good to watch
@@fionacrouch1732 thanks No 1 fan 🤣😂😅
Boa noite uma LINDA peça sucesso
Obrigado Ester
When I was in Shop, back in the day, and turned in something like this, I'd have gotten an A instead of the grade I DID get. LOL!
Haha I made a chess set (badly) I think I got a C
My Shop project was a round 'bowl' about 7" in diameter, 3 inches thick, with a slight concage. Talk about impressive. LOL! It couldn't really hold much. I kept it for quite a few years before it went in our wood buring stove. I should have kept it.@@MikeHolton
@@LOTGiscool Mine never came home, I forgot to go back to collect it then forgot all about turning for 36 years
Right size for my peanuts😂
Keep your nuts away from my bowl 🤣
Worked out Great Mike, Look forward to see the feet on future projects
Aston @IWMS
Thanks Aston, I have a beautiful black walnut blank that I think is perfect for feet.
