- I am back again trying to improve my technique when it comes to casting BFS gear. I explain what BFS is and why I chose this particular rod and reel.

You need to do yourself a favour and go down the Great Ocean road this year. Also check out my beach fishing vids to see how blue and clear the water is.
I'm still not sure I'm sold on BFS, but it seems to be gaining traction with lure fishing anglers. Some great advice and good to see you land a couple, but would be interested to see how that setup holds up if you happen to hook something with some size. Great job!
A friend of mine has landed big stuff on this exact rod like a 60 carp, 40 perch etc. I'm looking forward to when the time comes. As for being sold on it, BFS is definitely more fun to cast but where it shines is the ability to cast when you are hampered by bushed etc and can only do a a short backswing etc. I'm still working on being able to do the different types of casts.
@@yep.fishing I have watched a couple of others using the gear, but yet to see a bigger fish, so that will be cool when you get on one. Showing the casting advantages would make a good vid.
@@LarrysFishing I'm tempted to catch some bream on it just to demonstrate it can handle bigger fish.

you now what might be a decent video, a comparison video of a aliexpress rod and reel and a normal rod and reel
The reel test channel has done it, compared like 26 different reels in a "casting Olympics" all the was from the cheapest Ali reel to the highest end Shimano and Daiwa. But....you have given me a great idea. I will share it on insta

getting into bfs but done a fair bit of bait-casting, its not the rod load or the reel its just your casting technique, it needs to be smoother for more accurate casts and distance, beautiful blue water !
I'm casting pretty good now. I think the secret is no having any line out on the cast so you can load the tip with a short motion. I would say smooth isnt the right description as you really need to load the tip to cast 1/20 and 1/32 jigheads
@@yep.fishing yeh i mean like a smooth but hard flick with not to much line out
@@charliebeggs1372 I love having over 2 feet and even up to 4 feet of line out on long spin rods so it was new to me

Yeah man I cannot wait to put a real big bend in it. I'd love a shorter rod though that's the next thing I want to try.
@@yep.fishing just be careful not to flip the fish with the rod. I did and ended up with a broken tip. The seller was kind enough to send another tip and I was able to put a guide on the broken one. It serves as a good top water rod now lol

Yes I would not hesitate to buy. The current models have static magnetic braking which fixes the braking issue on the previous generation. I would encourage something thicker than .06mm braid but I am having no issues with it after I took some excess line off the spool.
So u think can i use the reel in saltwater 😅
@@leuleu1954 yes as long as you make sure you spray fresh water onto it later it should be fine. I definitely wouldn't want salt water splashing onto itthough
