      I know, exaggerated lead, so it’s hard to grab them. But they still plays to my point. If you are ahead of somebody, it would be hard for you to reach out and grab them.

Besides when IF he was ahead, everyone knows a race isn't over until the final stretch. That's when runners may use their last burst. It's a strategy for many. It's like you think the results of a race is decided by who is ahead 5 seconds in. That's crazy you wouldn't think of that.

    as a hurdler, i can assure you that very few people out there are actively trying to sabotage other people, but as you’re going through the race, it is very easy to end up off center from the lane, and for your arms to end up in somebody else’s lane. slapping the word “cheater” on here is vilifying robles. the 110 hurdles is too technical of a race where everyone is locked into their own form that, if altered, can cause you to fall or slow down, so there’s little to no reason to suspect intentional misconduct. he went over after to apologize to him, something i’ve had to do, and seen others do many times. hurdles is a lot harder than you guys think
    tl;dr: this stuff happens sometimes on accident and the guy likely wasn’t intentionally sabotaging liu

      Chains of that size dont weigh runners down much if at all. Like its probably 1/8 of a pound and that little of weight doesnt really hurt your times in the 110s. He wouldve lost if he didnt because of his doing not the chains. I know from personal experience, not at the olympic level but that small of a chain doesnt make a difference

    Coming From A Guy That Ran & Coached Hurdles This Actually Happens Pretty Often And I’ve Had/Seen This Happen At Plenty Track Meets. Usually Towards The End Of The Race (Last Few Hurdles) Some People Are So Anxious To Finish Their Form Gets Away From Them His Arm Is Extending Every Time But At The End Gets Wild Same As The Guys That Are Starting To Touch The Hurdles And Not Clear Them Completely.. It’s Just Fatigue No Foul Play Sad He Got DQd Truly

    This same thing happened to me in the state championship of my senior year of high school, ironically also in 2011. The kid who won intentionally knocked down every single hurdle with his trail leg, and i was dead even with him when his hurdle hit me and the kid in 3rd overtook me. Two other kids completely fell due to the chaos, and that kid wasn’t disqualified, but was awarded state champ đŸ€ą

    The hand grabbing accident was unintentional. It's a motion you make when flying over the hurdles and sometimes athletes clash in this way. Unfortunately this time it happened on the worlds biggest stage.. Btw there's no way robles did this on purpose. Liu xiang and robles were athletes with great respect for one another. He realized right away after the finish line that this will get him disqualified and rightfully so

    So, Dayron Robles helped the other guy to win the 110m hurdle by obstructing lu xiang. Dayron made a sacrifice not to let lu xiang win the gold. If lu xiang wasn't obstructed he could have gotten the gold. The guy who won this event should be thankful to Dayron.

    What I like most is the calmness of the Chinese guy. After the race some would have gone and confront the Cuban guy but the Chinese guy was calm and even accepted the hug from the guy, but later did the needful by reporting to the authorities.

    I ran track and did hurdles. There is enough space between the runners. It is rare for another runner to run that close and touch his opponent. He intentionally moved closer to struck his arm. Runners run with elbows in not elbows out.
