I've finally got round to posting my review of the Rolex 126613LB which I was very fortunate to acquire a few weeks ago!
I've seen a lot of negativity (aka 'dislikes') on Rolex videos, I'm not sure if this will be any different, but hopefully my injection of 'a bit of humour' may prevent that.....probably not! 😄

I find this blue dial nothing short of stunning, even more so than any other Rolex blue model. I’ve never been into bi-metal watches (aka two-tone and Rolesor) but this feels different, the dial really got me at the AD. Also, compared to all the black dial Subs released in 2020, the Bluesy stands out. Yes, it's a little bit showy but actually far less loud than I thought it would be. I've come to love the gold and blue colour combination in the flesh. Not a daily wearer by any stretch but more of a special occasion piece indeed.
My collection is essentially made of black, white and silver dials and I wanted to spice it up with some vibrant colour. It's been 6 months now since I bought my 126613LB. When I don't wear it, I think about it. When it's on my wrist, I'm constantly looking at it: the colours, the way it plays with the light and the redesigned case. I can safely say hand on my heart this to me is the most beautiful piece I've ever owned in 15 years since I started this hobby. I didn't know I'd like it so much until I saw it in real life. This Bluesy is a bit of a revelation to me and a revolution in my otherwise conservative SS collection. It's the perfect watch for the days I need to wear something fun and cheerful.

This is by far superior in the submariner line up.
Haha I think about it also when I am not wearing it. Just knowing that I have it is a strange and fulfilling feeling. When I wear it I can’t stop looking at how it plays off light also. What a special Piece.

GREAT Video - I really wish there were move videos of the 126613LB. If you do a follow-up, I've yet to see a good video of it outside on sunny day - especially at a beach!

This is my first Rolex and my first watch with a price higher than 250 eur/dollar.
I have been using it as my daily watch the last couple of months. Its the best looking watch ever made and so much nicer than the 11 series. The white text and slimmer lugs is spot on! Now I want to add the 126334 slate/rhodium to have a dressier watch.

First time watching one of your videos. Love your technical level review. I have always wanted a steel Daytona since I bought my first Rolex in 2013 and it still hasn’t happened at retail. I talked to my AD to instead buy a “Bluesy” while I wait. I hope I really like it in person once I wear it, it seems like a classic color combo.

Everyone can aford that and every other watch, if one wants it.
If you want it, make a plan, work, get money, save and buy it!
Be positive, nothing is unobtainable.
I work usual job, used my will and clevernes and bought me a rolex, and after that, 12 more rolexes, 2 cartiers, breitling.
And i live in country where usual salary is around 700€.
So every one can buy a watch, you got one life, be positive and never give up, everything is posible!
With negative thinking you cant do nothing, not even try something, cous you are allready given up.

Yo me it’s a daily wearer- not issues at all with such of classic look
Stunning! I was lucky enough to get one at retail from an AD after “only” waiting around 6 months. I previously had the 40mm bluesy ceramic/ sunburst, kept it for about 6 years , had as a daily piece. Regretted selling it! Luckily got another!

Love it mate, the bluesy is defo a grail. I do love the older ones 16613 gold writing gold date. An absolute classic. I think it’s good Rolex don’t ever change their designs too much. You know where you are with them. Just not a fan of all the hype sometimes. Great vid. I like the comedy references 👍👍👍👍

How do you think this compares to the two-tone GMT (Rootbeer)?
Hi Dennis! Well it all comes down to personal taste really - Diver or GMT? The Root Beer has the calibre 3285 movement (with the GMT complication), the Bluesy has the calibre 3235 movement. Bracelets are the same, price for Root Beer is £400 more than the Sub. And obviously colours are different! It may also come down to what you can actually get hold of! 😄👍
Rolex prices have gone up like crazy.
Today the Rolex Submariner Blue Model m126613lb-0002 with 2-tone OysterSteel and 18K gold bracelet retails at an authorized Rolex dealer for $15,600.00.
In 2020 it was $14,300, so it has gone up 9%.
Not surprisingly used Rolex watches are higher priced, perhaps due to supply and demand.
It is my favorite Rolex watch, it is super beautiful and very classy looking.
That is why I just bought it last week. It maybe hard to find and buy, but my super friendly Rolex AD got it for me super fast, just in one day.....unbelievable.

In certain light scenarios, does the blue dial turn a bit purple?
I've got it in front of me now actually, and it's definitely just blue. You do get a lovely starburst effect when it shimmers in sunlight 😃👍

It's not one I would normally entertain as "my kind of watch". But it is actually really nice. Like you say it flashy but not gareish. It would become my "going out out" watch for sure.

People have slept on this watch. The colors and gold and ss combo are beautiful to look at. Nothing against the black and ss model but this is next level. Thanks for the content

I just picked up a "last year" 2020 version, 40MM 116613LB with Gold face lettering and Blue Sunburst dial at my local trusted jeweler. The purchase date was 1-30-2020 on the warranty card from an AD. Full set, both boxes, W-card, tags, and all links. He only had it one day and not listed for sale. I just happened to email him at the right time! I traded in my old 1968 Vintage 1601 - 36 MM Datejust Jubilee with Champagne dial.
Now I feel I have the Creme de la Creme of ALL the Rolex Subs. I don't see what all the hype is about with the black dials! Or the green Hulks, they are just bland in my opinion. Step up and buy some GOLD!! I prefer the Rolex Rolesor versions. They add some class and weight to the TP. I love this "Bluesy". It's an amazing, beautiful timepiece. I'm ecstatic with my purchase. Buy one from your AD, and you won't regret it.

I love my two-tone date just and it is super flashy but I don't care because I wear it because it's what I like not what other people like only thing that keeps me from wearing it is if I'm worried about damaging it or it being stolen so I only wear it on occasions

That's a question only you can answer I'm afraid! It should look ok, but I would definitely try one on before spending that kind of money 👍

😅The wait was indeed too long Nigel. Some months along the way, I was tempted by an offer I could not refuse, and ended up with a Starbuck 126610LV instead of a Blusey. The price was over retail, but way way way below market level.. so I have no choice but to get it.

That Bluesy is just one of the best Subs out there - mezmerizing Dial. For me personally by far the most beautiful sunburst dial Rolex ever produced

Not only that: most bracelets and bands out there are 20mm so you can't properly use them with this watch, 20mm is a more universal size

I like it way more than the previous generation where the lugs were so big and ugly and they made the watch look like a square on your wrist 🤢
In this model they made the lugs slimmer maybe not only as an effect increasing the bracelet size but maybe they also slimmed them even more and I love it now, its perfect

The colors on Rolex bezels are so dull. The dials get a pass but the bezels... blech
This is just a hunch, but I get the distinct feeling....... you don't like Rolex 🤣🤣🤣
@@SirWatchGeek I do actually. I own a new Sea Dweller that I purchased last year. They are built much better than my Breitling but I just think their colours on their bezels are bland. I will continue to stick with a more traditional black bezel. Too bad because I’d like a Bluesie. They seem to vary in appearance from video to video and I have not been able to see one in person yet.
