Freebeat MorphRover is a 2 in 1 ebike that can be used as an indoor exercise bike and also a normal outdoor electric bike. In theory you can recharge this ebike using your own legs on an indoor trainer. Is it going to be a lot of work? Yeah. But there is also a normal charger so you can plug it into the wall for a recharge too. Please read these 3 corrections to the video:
1. The top speed can be unlocked to 28 mph.
2. They've discovered a minor bug where the battery level remains at 66% regardless of how I ride, but they've already fixed this issue. Additionally, if you want to charge the battery while indoor cycling, it is best to set the gear to 8. If the gear is too low, it won't do the job properly. Also, during indoor classes, you can keep track of the miles you've earned for your outdoor rides.

As a dual purpose bike, it's a great idea. Ride in the garage to get exercise on a rainy, or winter day then outside when it's nice. I'd would use it to charge the battery though. I think it needs a little more maturing. I think a real regen bike is a great idea but I know some have tried and it didn't really take hold.
Recharging via fitness is 100% a gimmick. If it takes HOURS to recharge an ebike via an outlet, it will take like a week to do it via pedal power unless you're a professional cyclist taking it seriously. The whole idea seems like a ploy to get people to sign up for their subscription, rather than to actually charge the bike.
regardless, it is a pretty nifty idea that you can use your bike as a training bike indoors
I don't think it's worth it.
People spend hours a day pedaling bikes at the gym that produce nothing.
Dude keep that rear tire trainer setup for other bikes so you don't scuff up your floors again 😂

plus if you have any controllers that may need to spin the wheel for programming or diagnostic purposes, it beats hell out of trying to hold it up in the air.

It's certainly interesting, but it's funny they claim on their website that you can create CO2-free energy with it as if you don't emit more CO2 when exercising...though I guess if you're replacing the exercise you already do with it then maybe that's valid. I think the real value is if you want to have an exercise bike and e-bike all in one...
I prefer my solar system and ebikes..Free electricity, free heat, free transportation,, cooking, etc.,There are lots of people who like to ride in their living room though..Can't knock anything that keeps you healthy..

I almost ordered one of these, but thought about my wife's reaction of bringing my bike into the house and setting it up to exercise, and decided that maybe having an exercise bike and an e bike as two different items was a better idea. I was concerned about the compromises, and it seems that concern is valid. Still bought the Freebeat exercise bike - so I guess thay at least got my attention with the 2-in-1, even if I didn't buy.
They're on the right track with a "self charging" ebike but it's still crude in implementation. Range anxiety is the biggest con with ebikes. If someone could invent a nice "seamless" recharging method as you ride along "without exhausting the rider", they'd be onto a real winner! By that I mean a SUBSTANTIAL charge...way above what the re-gen braking feature offers which is available on a lot of ebikes now.

I have a jackey portable charger so I can recharge my ebike while I am out and about, i can charge both my bike and charger at the same time as it uses small solar panels.
Cool idea , mainly for exercise. If you were continuously producing 1000w of power (probably a full sprint for most people) for an hour non stop, it would produce 20 cents worth of power. So you're not gonna be saving much money lol

All they need to do is combine this with one of those asinine Mokwheel inverter bikes and you could pedal to make your k cups. Nothing like throwing a 75 lbs bike on a trainer in your living room. Absolutely brilliant!!! Why didn’t anyone else think of this? 😂😂😂

This bike has it's place and a definite niche. Those of us who live where it can be difficult or impossible to ride during the winter can use it inplace of a dedicated exercise bike. Same applies to those living in limited space where they may have room for one but not both.
Recharging the battery, to any useful degree, is pure marketing though.
Cool idea but not really practical for most. I guess if you wanted a workout bike and an ebike it would be cool
