it kinda makes sense though, she did close the gate but a piece of it stayed in their world and it only activated when the russians opened the gate, the main villains here are the russians

Agreed. My friends in college got me converted to this show in October 2020. They decided we would watch like 2 or 3 episodes a night for me. But when we got to this season, we were supposed to stop one night on episode 6 one night but seeing that cliffhanger with possessed Billy saying “You let us in…” etc. that made me want to continue. We finished the rest of the season that night. We started that day after classes and got food to go from our cafeteria and start from watching at 5:30 PM and ended at 11:30 PM. They didn’t mind continuing that night for me since they love the show too. Alexei’s death really got me off guard. My friends kept singing Never Ending Story while we were watching this season and I didn’t understand why. I found it annoying how they were singing it. But then when it had Dustin and Suzie singing it, it made sense and now I love the song. I like Dustin and Suzie singing it better than the original version. Since we finished the season at 11:30 PM, I was worried because we had classes the next day and that we would be having trouble staying awake.

Well your comment kind of aged well since the Byers have now moved out. Doesnt change the fact that the monsters are still around though.
My fave trailer out of all of them honestly. I come back to this one specifically all the time, even after 4 years and another season.
Three might not be the best season, but this trailer is absolute perfection. I can’t even express how it left me feeling when it first came out.

this comment perfectly encapsulated my feelings on this trailer! ever since it first came out, i loved it so much and always come back to rewatch. 3 is definitely one of my favorite seasons and the most fun one at that!
You said everything I feel about this trailer. I remember the exactly time I watched for the very first time, June 21, 7:11pm... It was just so different from the first trailer for Season 3, darker, more emotional. I was completely SHAKING after watching it, didn't know what to expect, but the hype was above the clouds!!
And about ST3 not being the best season, I don't know. Eveything in this season is perfect. Soundtrack, characters, plots, villains, CGI, action scenes, performances, the 4th July vibe... I would say is a masterpiece. I know ST4 is out of this world, but Season 3 was the first time we had a blockbuster-level Season, and in Season 4 we were kinda used already, so didn't impress too much (despite also being surreal). I recognize ST4 is the best one, ST3 has a special place in my heart though.
Stranger Things is the best thing television has already created. Duffer Brothers should be proud.

I have a theory that hopper is gonna die too idk cause if you pause the trailer you can see hopper and the guy fighting in many scenes also it wouldn’t make sense for eleven to die because she already disappeared in season 1 and they don’t wanna do something like that again cause it would get boring also hopper is saying to el that he needs her safe, I really really hope he doesn’t die though like I’m scaring myself because of this theory he’s my fav character so I’d be so sad if he died 😭

Calling it now:
The Mind Flayer survived and is still on tis side of the gate because of the part of it that was in Will that got released. It went up into the night sky and at 0:54 you can see its return. It will probably inhibit the rats as a host.
Once the part of the mind flayer is in the rats, one of them will bite Billy (and a few others, making them like zombies) and Billy will help build a device to bring a monster to our world (the one at 2:37). Billy is also the one who is ominously speaking in the beginning.
The Terminator looking dude at 1:11 is actually a Russian spy, trying to find out about Eleven and the secrets of Hawkins to use as a weapon.
...Though I would be glad to be wrong since I love surprises, these are my predictions.

This season and season 4 are tied. But yeah, before season 4 this became my favorite one. It has this great trilogy feeling. Season 1 was okay. Season 2 was better and when I realized this show is one of my favorites. But season 3 was when I realized this is my #1 favorite show ever. Now we just have to wait and see what season 5 does.
I feel so overly protective of Max now after watching season 4 and coming back to watch this trailer.
